Disclaimer: Sorry if there already is a thread like this - I could not find it.

I often subscribe to, watch etc various channels, because of what they do and how inspirational I find them - and not nescessarily because it is Star Wars, but usually it's connected. (Also I really wish Youtube had an option for categorizing one's subscriptions!)

The intent with this thread is to bring some attention to some inspirational channels and to be inspired by their work.
This also includes if they have interesting techniques, cool tips for creating things or saving on materials etc.
All kinds of creative input that can be applied to our homes/collection/world building on our own.

------

Oilers Workshop - definitely deserves more subscribers, because he makes gorgeous things!!!
And he has a keen eye for "destruction" too. His videos aren't that long but he has some interesting ideas for figures and dioramas.
Good at showing while explaining.
Example:

Scratch Bashing - this guy is chaotic, funny and extremely good at utilizing all kinds of scraps and toys, putting it together and it just looks great!
Example:

Bill Making Stuff - lots of entertainment/fun. Maybe not as instructional, but more inspirational.
Example:

Toy Gigante - a channel I discovered recently. Currently building an awesome HISS tank for 6-inch. More a vehicle guy than diorama, still inspirational.
Link: youtube toygigante

Boylei Hobby Time - got some interesting ideas for building in general. Usually involves LED's.
Link: youtube Boylei

Black Magic Craft - mostly warhammer terrain and buildings, but these types of channels usually have some cool ideas or interesting ways to build.
Link: youtube BlackMagicCraftOfficial

Thalasso Hobbyer - a Japanese guy who makes extremely detailed dioramas, usually involves resin. His vidoes and work are just incredible and beautiful.
Link: youtube Thalassohobbyer

Cut Transform Glue - a Brazilian guy who makes insanely cool robots/mechs, usually involves everyday objects too.
Link: youtube CutTransformGlue

I have more, but let's start with these :)

Excellent thread, Oofa! I love resources for creative endeavours, much appreciated!

A cool topic. I'll do a quick peek at my subs and see what might match.

One that seems to fit the intended goal would be VinceVellCUSTOMS
I really like the art of statues and this is a good resource to watch modifications, painting, preparation, etc.

I'm rediscovering my passion for travel, so inspirational and research leads me to a lot of travel related channels. Some of those include Ace:

Lloyd & Mandy

Getaway

I'll add some others later, but I hope these are some good suggestions that people will enjoy as much as I do!

Not to be that guy, but my intention with this was in relations somehow to diorama building, be it different ways to apporach it regarding techniques, materials, etc. - tips and tricks of the trade so to speak, since it's the diorama section we're in. ;-)

The Jubilee video: (y)
The second video is unavailable to me, might be a country thing. And not sure about the travel ones :) it looks nice though!

Aha, I just went from the post itself and not the sub-section it was in. My bad, haha.

So yeah, the Vince Vell video is on track... the travel ones, not so much. Yeah, Ace seems to have blocked that from being played outside of YT. Click on it and see if it plays via YT proper.

The closest other channels I follow that kinda fits this would be All Things Art (more statue repairs and customization) and Spector Creative (action figure industry info, including manufacturing, sculpting, painting, etc). Someone else that might or might not fit: Mark Rober (more general engineering in fun ways)

This video was just released and it's from Eric's Hobby Workshop (link) - a channel I also enjoy, because he's good at building tabletop terrain pieces, which his channel is almost entirely centered around, but still, like with so many others, there are techniques and ideas to be "harvested" from here.

This video is him making another terrain - he starts out with the protective foam from a monitor box and ends up with a city block, with pipes, stairs, tunnels, levels, etc.

At the suggestion of Oofa, here is a great video showing you how to make dioramas with ice terrain. It was super-helpful to me, and also inspiring to see what could be done. This channel, Critical Crafting, also has tons of other types of things that you will find very relevant to making environments your Black Series figures!

North of the Border (link to videos) is another great, and entertaining youtuber making some, at times, very alternative versions of known pop culture figures etc. This time he made the Little Mermaid.

But there are some great tips in the video and that's the reason for posting this one.
Like how he makes the texture and how he makes the waves.

Hello SW world,
One of the channels I subscribe to on YT is called I Like To Make Stuff, and he also happens to be a SW fan and very creative.
He's making all kinds of cool stuff, more in the useful interior department but he does make some cool props too. This is his newest video and it kind of fits the bill for nerds like us.
Check his channel out for more SW and non-SW stuff.

Guess I'll post some of my inspirations here:

Luke Towan (Model Railroad and realistic diorama maker. Has a lot of great, long form videos on using things like static grass applicators, resin pours and working with styrene and carving foam.)

Devs & Dice (Fantasy themed channel dedicated to Warhammer and D&D. High production quality and generally great older videos on building things for forests and feudal looking towns out of things like polymer clay and foam.)

Geek Gaming Scenics (Retired Content Creator, his focus was on making sprawling gaming boards that were easily 6x4 feet long. His use of readily available materials to make anything ranging from a war torn battle field, to a beach and even an alien environment are simply great. His online store is still active if you're interested in any of his terrain kits.)

High Eye Workshop (Fantasy and forest diorama builder. Very in depth videos, from working with resin to sculpting a tree from epoxy putty. Great for forest worlds like Endor.)

Knarb Makes (Another wargaming terrain focused channel. He builds anything from foldable mats, to buildings and other scenic objects using a mix of 3D printed and hand made components. Very straightforward videos with good production value and straight to the point.)

LNR Models (A model railway channel, production quality is less professional, but his tutorials utilize cheap and readily available material in ways that will blow your mind. High emphasis on realism-price ratio for his builds. Recommended for fantastic budget builds)

Marklin of Sweden (Another model railway channel. Good production quality and tutorials focused on groundwork and realism. Combines a mix of model specialty gear and home made alternatives as well as 3D printed parts.)

Metamorphic Customs (An action figure focused channel, primarily for 1/6th figures. Has a ton of high end looking stand alone diorama pieces for Sideshow figures and the tutorials could probably be scaled down to your needs since the principles are what you are mainly looking for.)

NightShift (Premiere historical modelling channel. Excellent for learning about methods and acquiring tools and specialty paints for weathering vehicles, wreckages and ruined buildings.)

PaperCuts (Very high end diorama builder. His stuff is built for high levels of realism and his DIY tutorials are very in depth, even going so far as to teach you how to make your own scenic adhesives and custom texture pastes. One of my personal favourites.)

Platypus Scotsman (Another wargaming terrain focused channel. Covers both fantasy and 40k near evenly, so a number of his builds should be relevant to you greeblers out there. Tutorials go from start to finish and are longform, so you'll never really feel like you've missed a step)

Not to toot my own horn :) But I think if you want fun inspirational Diorama Tutorials for ALL ages... You can check out my Dioramaworkshop.com website and YouTube Channel... Here's an example of my latest build... VADER VS KENOBI DUEL

You're most welcome to toot your own horn, as long as it relates to inspiration/tips and techniques for diorama/world building/figure customs and this certainly does that. I've seen your work many times before :)

Here is a channel that certainly belongs on this list; Nerdforge!

It's about a couple from Norway - Hansi, who does the editing and electronics and Martina, who is mostly in front of the camera and who is doing most of the builds. They are incredibly creative, positive and just damn funny in a wholesome way. They do dioramas, paintings, cosplay and really kinda everything. The videos are always entertaining, educational and inspirational.

Here is the latest thing they did; a giant castle:

They are really cool, been watching for couple years now. Well worth subscribing

Only 5 weeks! That would take me months! It entertaining to watch.

This is a small channel: andybud08 but he's making a lot of custom figures, usually with parts from 3rd party suppliers. He's not really showing how he goes about it, but more the end result.

Recently he posted a 17 minute video of his SW room, and there are some interesting ideas in regards to building dioramas into your collection.
Take a look and see some of his other videos, there are some with various stages of progress in them, so you DO get a little glimpse into how he goes about it.

One of his first videos is also showing off parts of this, but is shorter (and less expanded into the room)

That's pretty fantastic, I really love the Star Destroyer bridge with Tarkin and Krennic. Love the cantina also. Man, there's a lot in his collection!

VERY COOL collection and diorama displays. Left comment and like on his youtube. Love how he incorporated the soundtrack with the displays. very good. Frank.

The YT algorithm presented me with this little gem only 15 minutes ago, so I peeked ... it's actually quite well done! And I think the guy is using some of your templates @DiorioDioramas too.

It's a compact little diorama, but it looks great, involves existing toys, electronics and baby oil!!! to p*mp it up.
