Time for a new thread.

Who’s celebrating Wookie Life Day? So we just finished Halloween, do we skip over Thanksgiving and head straight to Christmas?

I hope everyone is doing well.

Did everyone see that the Lucas Museum of Narritive Art will open to the public on September 22, 2026? It is located in Los Angeles’s Exposition Park.

About the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art

Opening in September 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is dedicated to illustrated storytelling. Founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum’s collection features works by artists such as Norman Rockwell, Kadir Nelson, Jessie Willcox Smith, N. C. Wyeth, Beatrix Potter, Judith F. Baca, Frida Kahlo, and Maxfield Parrish; comic art legends such as Winsor McCay, Jack Kirby, Frank Frazetta, Alison Bechdel, Chris Ware, and Robert Crumb; and photographers Gordon Parks, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Dorothea Lange. The museum also houses the Lucas Archives, containing models, props, concept art, and costumes from Lucas’s filmmaking career.

Designed by Ma Yansong of MAD with a landscape by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA and Stantec as executive architect, the museum is in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, on an 11-acre campus that includes new green space and a 300,000-square-foot building with galleries, two theaters, a library, restaurant, café, retail store, and community spaces.

This is two days before my birthday. Other than Star Wars and Indy related stuff, I'm not sure I'd get that much out of this. I could be wrong. I will definitely wait to get more of an idea on what all is involved.

Another update...

Kinda hard to see as it's a bit dark in my bedroom.

I've attached most of the greeblies. That bottom one on the forearm was a pain as it consists of about 14 pieces and part of it I had to run a piece of a paperclip through to keep it all aligned while gluing.

The hand has been sanded, primed and first layer of paint. This is just the beginning as I plan on this arm looking seriously weathered.

I found the person who created this design came up with two ways to do the pistons. I could either print the piston as one piece or I could print a bunch of separate pieces and attach them to a 3/8 aluminum tube. I liked the latter solution better as it will look much cleaner and allow for better movement. I ended up ordering the aluminum tube and some 7mm aluminum rods. They arrive in two days. That's all this thing is waiting for before I can begin completely sanding and painting. I'm really impressed with the designer as he made a lot of really good decisions on how to make this work well.

I just ordered the Black Series Jesse helmet from Disney Store. I got free shipping using code SHIPMAGIC

I wanted to get the Loth Cat, but it's $100.

This is scheduled to arrive on Friday.

NO Mouse Droid.

I also ordered the Jesse helmet.

I like the carded DJ-R3X figure, and was regretting not getting a second one to open, so I added one to the order since the shipping was free.

After getting off the plane at Sky Harbor this morning (Spent the weekend back in IL), I ended up ordering the Starspeeder 1000 to have it alongside the 3000 I already own. Wish I could've gotten any discount beyond the free shipping. I've been back and forth debating if I should've ordered this before. I convinced myself to order it now.

I thought about grabbing the Qimir saber, but didn't realize it was going to be the set with the small dagger and blades. I'm not down for $325 on it.

These could be cool if I had a train set up

shipping seems to be pretty high - $36 to ship a pin and playing cards, plus $8 in duties

Thanks for the Celebration Japan merchandise reminder. I probably should've re-listed that in the new thread when I started it up. I'm not surprised the shipping is high, but that's pricey for 2 items.

I used some Hallmark rewards discounts to take some of the sting out of the pricey "Let the Wookiee Win" ornament. Also ordered the General Anakin Skywalker (Ahsoka) ornament that I had previously skipped.

Mine shipped via UPS, but the site is not currently giving me an ETA.

I was just going by the Disney email stating a Friday delivery. I just checked UPS and they're stating tomorrow. It has left Vegas, so that's actually very possible.

UPDATE: UPS sent an email confirming delivery tomorrow. Very seldom does it arrive later if UPS notifies me of a specific date.

I just received the Clone Commander Jesse helmet form DisneyStore.

I need to look it over a bit more, but my first impression is that the deco was well done. The only issue I see is that the Republic logo has different weathering than the rest of the helmet, almost like it was an after thought. Going to get some pictures with the Hot Toys figure a little later.

I got notification from Amazon that the delivery ETA for the BS Commander Cody helmet moved up from February 16th to December 10th. I'm looking forward to this one.

My Starspeeder 1000 from Disney Store is supposed to be delivered tomorrow. Praying all is good with it.

Reminder: the Celebration Japan Online Store opens for non-attendees tomorrow, 11/20 at 4pm AZ time/3pm PT.

On the home page, there is a link to the online store.

While this status is not licensed and not canon, I would actually love to get it. I have always liked the female cosplayers who did the more scantily clad Stormtrooper armor and this would be fun to have in my collection. Unfortunately the high price will keep that from happening.

Female Stormtrooper 1/4 Scale Statue (NSFW) by Cincronize Labs

She's 1/4 scale and comes with two additional heads (some random blonde and an evil looking Leia)

She also has a red light-up lightsaber, a light-up base and her breast plate can be removed revealing her other assets.

Yakface.com put together a bunch of early Black Friday Amazon deals on Star Wars items.

I know those of you who ordered them at full price won't agree, but I love that pretty much all of the Acolyte figures are majorly marked down.

I ordered two more of the Black Series Imperial Armored Commandos. They're scheduled to arrive today. I also ordered some pre-cooked bacon because bacon goes with everything including Commandos.

I meant to post these up yesterday and completely forgot...

Here's the Disney Park Jesse helmet along with the Hot Toys Jesse.

I think the two of these go together really well.

1763730224625.png

And this is the problem I was describing the other day with the Disney Park helmet weathering. If you look at this picture of the Hot Toys helmet you can see how the weathering in the Republic logo doesn't just stop when it hits the blue area. It continues on. This is much more realistic. I also really like that the Hot Toys helmet has weathering on the mohawk. On the Disney Park helmet this was left completely pristine and it looks out of place to me. Kinda like what was done with the Disney Parks Biggs helmet.

The Hot Toys helmet is absolutely gorgeous. There are different colors of weathering involved and it looks truly beaten and very realistic. Especially considering the small scale.

1763730275788.png

On the Disney Park helmet the scratches stop just before they reach the blue. This is pretty unlikely, so it's almost like the logo was designed separately from the rest of the helmet. I also wished there would've been more than just simple scratches that seem to all follow the same path. That's not how things get damaged. You could get hit my a baton or vibro ax and that would cause a slash in one direction. You could get caught near an explosion causing debris to chip pieces of paint off the helmet in many directions. It should be more random. There's also no weathering in the white area, which is very unlikely as white gets dirty easily.

I decided to display him with my Hot Toys 501st Clone Trooper. I just realized his right knee armor is crooked. I need to fix that.

1763730469785.png

Overall I am happy with this helmet and have no regrets getting it and the fact that it arrived as quickly as it did was a definite bonus. Unlike the 10 month wait for Cody.

Great pics. The helmet and HT figure look really good together. I think you've inspired me to move some of my HT figures into my helmets display cases.

If anybody still collects physical copies of Star Wars Soundtracks, you're in good luck. Star Wars Skeleton Crew is now available on CD and 4-Disk LP (Gold). This is available on the Made by Mutants website.

CD is $20 and LP is $70.

I collect the physical soundtracks and ordered the CD version. Shipping had 2 choices, Ground ($9.41) and Media Mail ($10+). I didn't price out shipping for the LP's.

Here's the link:

You also get 2X the reward points and from what I can tell free shipping. I went through the checkout process and was not charged shipping or the 10% tariff fee. I did not complete my purchase, but all that was left was clicking the pay now button.

Well, I finally got my photos from the 2nd stop of my September trip available for viewing.

(If you missed the 1st stop, KC, here's the post. Kansas City)

Welcome to Seattle!

Stepping into this big ultra-modern international city, the total opposite of Kansas City, really changed up the intensity, hustle and bustle and excitement. Of all the stops on this trip, this was the one city I wanted to see again (I was there when I was 12-13 years old, remember very little). There is so much you can do, see and go to that 2 days doesn't do it justice. I checked off the basics during this stop which was the best I could do.

On to the pics.

Seattle: https://photos.app.goo.gl/goCYFAAtM3eNqz7s8

Right off the bat, I realized this city is very liberal, when within 2 blocks of my hotel (The Sound Hotel Seattle Belltown), I saw a large naked bike ride with older people. (Full viewing of all god gave them, male and female). FYI, it was not that pleasant to see. After this surprise, I headed to the pier district to go on the Wings over Washington flying theater. It's just like Soarin' at Disneyland/EPCOT and was a fun start to the city. I knew I'd have to see the Space Needle, Public Market and MOPOP (Museum of Pop Culture), while adding other sites to the trip, like the Seattle Kraken Hockey Arena (Climate Pledge Arena). Sadly I didn't see any flying fish at the fish market, but people were waiting for it to happen. The Gum Wall may be a sight to see, but it is quite disgusting.

T-Mobile Park: https://photos.app.goo.gl/R8LiHmjFLAKmSwr39

Noted during my KC write-up, I was on a baseball trip and I was looking forward to seeing the Mariners home field. This was my favorite of the 3 stadiums I visited on this trip. T-Mobile Park is incredibly beautiful. This stadium has a very unique look and while it can be a challenge to walk around the whole park (must go up and down stairs at times), it was a sight to see, I was given some advice to head up to the top level and explore the boardwalk and view from the stadium. I was blown away that a stadium could offer that special treat.

The Mariners were to play the St. Louis Cardinals. A close game with Cardinals up, until the mid-innings when the Cardinals starter was taken out. Then the Mariners erupted for 4 runs to take the lead which they wouldn't relinquish. Final Score: Mariners 4, Cardinals 2. There is a small video that shows off the entrance of the Seattle Closer, Andres Munoz. It really revs up the crowd.

There were 2 food items I wanted to try. The Itchi Wings and the Ice Cream Nachos. The Itchi Wings have a sweet teriyaki sauce and were very good. This is the same recipe that was made for MLB Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki, when he played for the Mariners. Apparently, he ate this before every game, or so I was told. The Ice Cream Nachos are made for more than one person, but I conquered it. The only fault was the "nachos" waffle cone pieces tended to break too easily. Wings get an A- and the Nachos get a B. (While I was eating the ice cream nachos, there was a guy trying to explain baseball to his girlfriend. She didn't get it, which was a bit amusing, but she kept complimenting her man for trying. I gave a few pointers to help the conversation continue. Eventually, they left to walk elsewhere, but before the girlfriend left, she gave me a very flirty look before leaving.)

MOPOP-SciFi: https://photos.app.goo.gl/NcS7RCYMoMEbyXCF9

I had heard great things about MOPOP. I always enjoy seeing costumes and props from TV, Film and Music. As a Pop Culture connoisseur, I was excited to see the SciFi, Fantasy, Horror and Music exhibits. The SciFi exhibit starts at the beginning of the museum with the SciFi Hall of Fame and eventually continues with its full exhibit later in the museum. I find it amusing that these items on display really look so different on screen.

MOPOP-Music, Superheroes & Misc.: https://photos.app.goo.gl/BVj48cKPVDtkLmTt9

Loved to see the extensive collection of guitars. The styles and customizations are so interesting. A separate exhibit solely for Jimi Hendrix was well done. From sports to music act's costumes to superheroes, Pop Culture basically includes everything.

MOPOP-Fantasy & Horror: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1nRBxH4sL1D2fGVbA

These two exhibits really were a pleasant surprise how incredible they were. The props themselves look like they have their own tales to tell.

I spent 2.5 hours total in the museum and could've spent more, however I needed to collect my luggage at the hotel and head to the airport, which would lead me to the 3rd stop on the trip, San Diego.

Those museums look awesome! I could easily see spending many hours there checking out the stuff. Was the Stormtrooper helmet the actual "Move Along" helmet? It looks like it.

The ice cream nachos looked incredibly sweet. Not sure I could've done those.

And I had no idea what the gum wall was when I was looking at the picture, but I was going to ask if the building was diseased and then I read your comment and realized what was happening there and yes, that's very disgusting.

Doesn't Seattle have a nudity law? How did those people get away with riding bikes naked? And take it from someone who rides a bike about 5 times a week, while I do ride quite often in barely more than a pair of shorts, I have NO desire to not be wearing those shorts. They protect my man parts from what could be a very uncomfortable ride.

UPDATE: I googled it... Public nudity is generally legal in Seattle, but laws against indecent exposure apply if the nudity is done with the intent to cause alarm or offense. This means intentionally exposing oneself in a lewd way is illegal, though simply being nude in a public place, like a beach, is not inherently against the law.

I never knew this. Why don't they ever show this kind of thing on Grey's Anatomy.

I forgot to mention I ordered this Star Wars Visual Encyclopedia yesterday from Amazon for only $15.11 (53% off). It arrived this morning and I'm very glad I ordered it. It's about an inch thick and filled with some great pictures that span all of the Star Wars media. There are 4 pages dedicated to just helmets. This is definitely worth $15.

It's still available at that price if anyone is interested.

Without a doubt, if you wanted to look at all the detail of the items in MOPOP, you would need multiple days visiting. There is so much to see and read. Granted I went a Tuesday morning, but it wasn't very crowded inside, which made it easier to view the items on display.

The Ice Cream Nachos were a huge challenged and chore. It tasted so good and took me 20 min to finish. I never had any more dessert over the next week. I filled my quota.

I read about the gum wall beforehand and wasn't really searching it out but then I went down a walkway below the public market and stumbled across this monstrosity. Other people were touching it. I kept thinking about how many diseases am I near right now. Why does this exist? I don't want to know.

I was startled by the sight of a nude bike ride. I didn't expect to see that but figured this happens regularly in Seattle, so nobody bats an eye at it. I bet it shocks the tourists, though. The riders were enjoying their time, so let them be, I say. I did wonder if 20-something year old's do this or just hippie offspring.

It's not looking like the Tron HasLab is going to make it. It only has two days to go and barely over 10% of the required orders. This may be the biggest miss of any of the HasLabs yet. I think Cookie Monster got closer to hitting the goal than this.
I backed one for fun, knowing I would never be paying out my money.

I understand the TRON popularity isn't there, but what I've been reading is that backers and non-backers have questioned the total cost. It appears that the items are over-priced as a whole. I don't see people calling Hasbro/Disney more greedy than normal but the Haslab markup seems to be higher for this Haslab than necessary.

Plus not having a red light cycle and the actual character TRON in the set was a problem.
