Phoenix Board # 227: Happy Thanksgiving, HasLab Ghost

Glad to have you still around. I usually am on the boards a lot in small batches throughout the day. I would love to check these boards more often, but it's not possible. There is a lot of useful and fun information posted here. As long as you don't get sucked into bad threads or posts, all is good.

For those who jumped aboard the Ghost Haslab, are you excited for it's arrival in the not-too-distant future?

I went ahead and preordered this due to the limited qty. I threw $56 in Sideshow Rewards at it too. I figure it will look nice next to the HT phase 2 trooper, even though I'm not a big fan of purge troopers with this helmet.

If you're not big on the helmet, why didn't you order the one that I did from the Obi-Wan Kenobi series? It's slightly cheaper.
 
^ It surely will, especially since it's chock full of articulation. I figured you wouldn't want to buy it, but it's definitely worth looking at!
 
I received my second Light Cruiser Hallway playset yesterday and just now got a chance to mess with it. Unfortunately the way the floor was designed it's not as ideal as I was hoping combining multiple playsets.

A few issues are:
  • The second floor can't be connected to the the first floor to hold it in place because it doesn't have any protruding connector parts. The way Hasbro should've handled this is have all the floors with female connectors and then create a male connector piece to attach them. That would've been ideal . The nice thing is I should be able to easily create male connectors with my laser cutter,
  • When putting the small door frame in between two wall pieces the door will only open half way. The way to fix this is to have the area behind the wall more hollow. This could possibly be fixed with a little Dremel ingenuity. Not sure I want to do that though. It's fine if you aren't concerned about displaying the piece with the doors open.
  • There aren't enough of the red lamp pieces like I mentioned the other day. You can't fill all of the holes in the walls because they don't provide enough of them.
  • This would've been far more versatile had Hasbro included a couple more of the lighting columns.
  • If you create one long hallway with two sets you end up with one small door and one small floor piece that cannot be included and are essentially wasted. I guess one option would be to put them on the back side of the other small door and leave that door open creating a multiple room effect.
I'll try to get some pictures up later to illustrate what I am talking about.

Also, is anyone interested in a mint-on-card/unpunched Mandalorian Privateer figure? I'd give one up for $10, which is about $4 less than a retail figure.

Another reason to avoid online shopping...

I had ordered something from Best Buy. Got a good deal with a $10 coupon I had. UPS delivered it today to some other address, since to the proof of delivery wasn't my house. I even went looking for my package at the houses down my block, but found nothing. So, I contacted Best Buy and requested a re-fulfillment of the item. This is so frustrating.

I wish companies would actually get products into their physical stores because I really really dislike online shopping. If the product isn't damaged before shipping or during, it is lost or misplaced.

I couldn't even contact UPS since I am the receiver of the item. UPS doesn't even allow an investigation to be opened for a missing package. Such a horrible company.

My brother moved into a new house a couple of years ago. Depending on which map search engine you used it would show different locations based on his address. Both he and I had things shipped from Amazon to his address and they never showed up. We both were reimbursed for it. This went on for several weeks. After getting very frustrated over it he and his wife decided to do a little looking around and found a house several streets over that had been abandoned and all of their stuff had been piled up at the front door from multiple deliveries.

It's extremely frustrating that the purchaser/receiver cannot file a claim with the shipping companies.

It makes no sense how delivery can be this difficult at times.

Update to my delivery issue...So, Best Buy emailed me an hour or so ago, that standard delivery to my house wasn't available anymore, for some reason, and that I can get it shipped to a store arriving late next week or the following week. The other option was a full refund.

Since I would be going out of town, Chicago, for a week, I had to request a full refund.

THEN.....I walked outside to go to the mailbox a few minutes ago and saw the package in my front door walkway. This was not there earlier in the day when I went out to look for it in the neighborhood. I'm guessing that someone else dropped it off by my house to correct UPS's mistake.

Do I contact Best Buy to cancel the full refund request or say "tough luck" and get the refund on top of the delivery? I should be honorable and try to contact Best Buy and see if they can stop the full refund.

I used to sweat this kind of thing, but it's getting to where it's so much trouble and not something you're at any fault for, so I would say just let it go. That's just me. I try to be honest, but then you call up and it confuses the reps even more and the next thing you know you're paying more than what you should've in the first place.

I thought about that. Bringing this up would confuse the different reps. Besides, they emailed me that they would forward the refund request to the appropriate department. I think I'll leave it alone.
 
Check your Target pre-orders if you have any. I have a ML X-Men 97 Wolverine pre-ordered that has been sold out for weeks and noticed this morning while checking to see if it was still sold out that it is 25% off. Hopped on chat and voila, they adjusted the pre-order price down to meet the sale.

Same here as always. Yes, it has been a while. Great talk and loved seeing the DC Trinity Busts. Truly remarkable they are. Thanks for the TVC figure as well.

I think I'm gonna go to the John Williams Tribute performance by the Phoenix Symphony on Saturday night, even at the expense of sleep prior to my early Sunday flight. When I left your house, I heard the Raiders March on SiriusXm and I think it was a sign to go see the performance.
 
Also great to meet up with Desert_Trooper this morning too. A pleasure to catch up and discuss various collecting topics and TV shows. Big thanks for acquiring the NYCC Obi-Wan FigPin for me. Much appreciated.

Glad that figure found a home instead of just being an extra Mando in my collection. Plus it lessened by cost for the playsets a little.

As for the Best Bu fiasco, I received an email that my refund was processed. I never got a chance to attempt to contact them that it mysteriously arrived. Oh well. I'll just chalk it up to a win due to UPS's ineptitude.

Sadly, my E-wing is coming thru UPS. Hoping for better results.
 
According to Fed Ex, my E-Wing is supposed to arrive from HasbroPulse today, but I have serious doubts it's going to happen as the last scan was in TX. That was on 11/8, but it seems really odd that it hasn't been scanned since. You'd think something like this would be a red flag to Fed Ex management and they would realize they have a flaw in their tracking system.

It looks like we're getting a new Range Trooper figure from Andor. I love that they're working these other Trooper designs into more movies and series.

Not sure I really need any more Range Troopers as I picked up a LOT of them from Solo, but this one does have different battle-damage, a more unruly fur collar and different boots, so I will be getting more of them.
