I agree that the detail is impressive. I want the campaign to succeed, but at the same time, I don't really have a need for 4" sail barge. I'd hate to get one only to end up selling it off. Having said that, I think I'll end up backing it.

As for Walmart the other day, I left one Han and one Range Trooper. They had only one case out.

Good to know. Han doesn't worry too much, but I do have some interest in the Range Trooper. Just not sure if I want to ride that far to get it. I'll see how my day goes. Thanks!

A SPECIAL SAIL BARGE OFFER

As you may have noticed, I REALLY want the Sail Barge campaign to succeed, so in an attempt to help out a fellow AZ collector who could not immediately afford it and also help the Sail Barge campaign, I will offer up to fund a sail barge on your behalf, but here are the conditions…

  1. Pay me $150 at date of the agreement and I will place an order for the barge immediately and show proof of purchase. The barge will be in my name and have my shipping address. The total cost of the barge shipped to AZ is $538.99. If the sail barge campaign does not reach 5000 orders, I will refund your money via Paypal on 4/4.
  2. Continue $150 payments for the next two months (April & May). Then June make a final payment of $100. This will total $550. The extra is to cover my time and any interest lost by paying for this upfront. It’s only $11.01 additional.
  3. At the point of payment in full, I will contact Hasbro and change the shipping address to your name and address and provide proof of doing so. Someone on the Sail Barge thread confirmed the address can be changed at any point. Worst, worst case, I will drive it to wherever you want next year, but I don’t see that happening.

Now here’s the safety clauses so I don’t get screwed over if something goes wrong…

  1. If I am not paid the April payment, I will cancel the order with Hasbro and return your initial $150
  2. If for any reason you stop making payments after the May 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] cut-off date for cancellations with Hasbro, then I will be forced to continue paying for the barge and I will attempt to sell the barge on my own once it arrives next year.
    • If I am unable to sell the barge, which I highly doubt, then I will keep all money that has been paid. Even if you paid $450 and then stopped, the barge is mine because you did not make the final payment.
    • If I am able to sell the barge, I will keep the original $538.99 that I paid for the barge plus an additional $75 to account for all the stress and headaches you just put me through for not making good on the deal. Any additional money that you paid to me will be returned.
    • If I am able to sell the barge at a profit, again the same applies. I will return only what you originally paid minus the $75 headache charge. All profits for selling the barge are mine to keep.

I hope the safety clauses don’t come off nasty. I’m just going out on a limb here and would feel pretty bad if left carrying this thing after making a deal.

I can only make this offer for one person as I am not a bank, so the first person that contacts me will be the first considered. We will work out the dates of payments so it can fit your schedule and make it easy on you.

That's a nice offer but it doesn't really make sense why someone would do this when Paypal has cheaper/safer payment options, with no interwst if paid within 6 months. Works out to about $94/month. I guess there may be someone with absolutely terrible credit who wouldn't qualify for this, but it seems pretty easy to get approved, I was in about 2 seconds.

And that's fine too. Just some people may not want to take out another line of credit if they don't have Paypal set up. It's not like I'm going to make a killing off of $11.

And how is Paypal safer? With me there's not ding on anyone's credit if they didn't pay it. That's about as safe as you get.

I'm still not real eager to drop that amount of money on the barge, but I know I'll regret it if I don't. I've considered canceling it a few times.

I just think it's overpriced. I've heard all the justifications for it, but that's a crazy price for a Hasbro "toy".

My 12-year old had his appendix out yesterday so it's been a strange couple days, but all is well.

My Target BB Pop! was delivered today. Not sure why it was a day behind.

I just don't look at it as a toy. I see a killer looking diorama or a high end collectible.

Plus if you do it, I bet by next year you won't even have felt like you missed the money, but when that barge arrives, I'll bet you'll be glad that you have it.

Considering the size and magnitude of this project I think the price is within reason. This thing is going to be a "Boat" pun intended !

I left officially in January, but I’ve had a new job since October that sells 1/6 scale. I’ve kept in touch with several coworkers from ToysRUs, we’re all so sad to see it go... I still remember buying my very first vehicle (TIE Fighter) and action figure (Tatooine Luke) at the Fiesta Mall store back in ‘95!

Wow the Sail Barge just "exploded" today in sales. I hope somebody from CBS bought one for Stuart's comic book shop on "The Big Bang Theory" !

The life-sized Sideshow Death Trooper is up for pre-order.

$8000

Estimated to arrive 8/18 - 10/18

It can be displayed as a regular version or Specialist. That would be a no-brainer.

I definitely like the specialist one better and I think you could do a better base. If it was me making one I'd have the Imperial logo on the bottom with green lights shining through it.

I had actually thought weeks ago that this needed to be on Big Bang Theory. I will be cracking up and texting you if I see it happen.

I seriously think we're going to hit 5000 on Saturday.

376 for the day and already have 12 for Friday.
