It would be nice if Hasbro decided to resculpt the figure from scratch; but if this just ends up being a straight rerelease, then I don't really need to buy non-screen-accurate version yet again.

I bet he gets the knife and maybe the wristshield this time :rolleyes: as Mando ( Gravis Ringworld and the just revealed MInes of Mandalore ) finaly has his vibroblade now, too

From the livestream it sounded like it would be a straight refresh in Phase IV mural packaging with maybe some deco changes.

as Mando ( Gravis Ringworld and the just revealed MInes of Mandalore ) finaly has his vibroblade now, too
The Glavis Ringworld version also comes with a vibro-knife.

I can confirm that the figure is basically the first version. No knife or shield, deluxe window box. Mines of Mandalore Mando is right after him in the mural as well making Paz #36

The SHF version is really the best figure of him available and he's on sale at BBTS right now. Yes, it's priced higher but blows this inaccurate(concept art) figure out the water.

Why in the world would they rerelease an inaccurate version of the character?

Feels like a real wasted slot IMO, I get that they might want something out to tie in with S3 but this figure has already seen like four releases and a version can still be found at discount stores. The Armorer isn't much better at three releases but at least they could pack in a Jetpack making her somewhat different/new.

Considering the budget for TBS is considerably more than TVC you'd think they could expand on the Mandalorian offerings a bit and offer actual kitbashes to create "new" characters! Rather than run main ones into the ground with countless senseless repaints, or reissues far too early and close together. So far they've only made two background Soldiers which are from TCW. I'd have thought by now this line would have a few more from S1 or 2 at least.

Why in the world would they rerelease an inaccurate version of the character?

Cause it's cheaper than making him accurate. The MIB/mural collectors will end up buying this cause of the box. Then they'll do an exclusive 2 pack with the accurate one sometime later and then reuse that accurate version and do a single pack for those that missed the 2-pack, etc.

By this stage it has to be someone running a book at Hasbro to see how many times they can release the same POS and have people buy it. Spread is 5-7.

I would have preferred they wait a year or two and give us an all-new sculpt instead of just rereleasing the 2019 figure yet again. As it is, I already have the Carbonized Paz Vizsla, which is my favorite version of this specific figure so I have no interest in buying it again just for the mural packaging (I don't even really care about the murals to begin with).

I also have the SH Figuarts version, which I consider to be the best 6" scale figure of Paz Vizsla in general, so.... again, zero reason to buy this inaccurate version.

Happy to see this re-released, I’ve always bought other figures instead so the past release has always slipped past me so count me happy to see him back on the shelves in the not so distant future.

Could someone humor me and point out what about this figure is inaccurate?

The armor is based on the design from the concept art rather than the actual costume used in the show. It’s “close enough” but if you pull up a picture you can really notice the differences

The most egregious inaccuracy is that the hose for his flamethrower should be running up into his arm, not connecting to his jetpack. Because of that you can't have him ditch his jetpack for a knife fight with Din.

Generally speaking, the overall shape of the screen-used armour is much more angular, with a longer "face" on the helmet, boxier greaves, etc, etc. The TVC figure is much more screen-accurate:

I got my Paz Vizsla from GameStop today. I was expecting a straight reissue but there are some paint differences. New figure is on the right in these pics.

The hexagonal decoraton in the center of his chest is a darker gray. It was metallic gray on the original.

His knee and shin armor are a lighter shade of tan, and now match the left gauntlet. They used to be much darker.

The steel toes on his boots are black now instead of gray.

His light gray bodysuit appears to be a lighter shade of gray as well.

The backpack is identical. The tip of the gun has more bluing, but that could be a variance in the paint application.

Finally, here's a group shot of all five (!!!) releases of this figure.

Wow!

Too bad, Hasbro didn't go the extra steps IMO.
They just should have thrown him into a BOBF box and include his vibroblade and gauntlet shield
After five rotations with this tooling they should just sculpt an entirely new figure to more accurately represent the screen-used armour. 😅

Picked up Paz from Target for 1/2 off today. $16.99 is a reasonable deal for him and the only version I had of him was a clearanced carbonized version from a few years ago.
