Hey guys! Besides being a long time Diorama maker here in the forums, I also had a very brief stint in independent comic art, Specifically for a company called Antarctic press out of Texas. I had drawn and computer colored a couple of back stories, but always had a tremendous love of especially Marvel comics. I’ve sold several pieces on eBay, and have several more up right now; here are a few examples, and if you’re interested, my eBay name is the same as on rebelscum and I have everything set at a best offer option as well. Thanks for looking!47200E33-3FCE-453D-961E-65447317F323.jpeg49F3F1C0-1AFF-4084-A395-2A53D5BB38FE.jpeg8D32E0C3-39D0-4EA3-A592-99DBFE39B86F.jpeg50257CE7-6BE9-4032-B59F-BE441A547549.jpeg

Uuuuuuuuhhhhhh, HOLY S***!!!!!!!!!!!! I've always admired your stuff in the customs and diorama sections but.......that's seriously amazing! It's like, Hey everyone!.. just wanted to pop in and show you some of my professional level art....and share with you I'm a brain surgeon on the side! Yeah....just dabble a bit with the ol' scalpel, cuttin' & slicin'...saving lives...you know.....just a typical crazy talented amateur brain surgeon. What?!?! Can't most people do this? Uhhhhhh....no, man. No... we can't. The Efff, Greg!!! Or should I call you Stan Lee?

Beautiful, just old-school cool art. How long do you take on something like this?

You could give me a million years and I could never approach that. Face it, Jack. You are an artist. (y) The first posts with some of the POV and small details are just off the charts. The ceiling fan, for instance, is a superb example of how you take perspective and fully sell it to the viewer in a way that comics (cool ones) manage to pull off. You can show a room, sure. But to keep things interesting???.....doing it as a "fly-on-the-ceiling" is something that most people wouldn't even think of let alone execute.

I just completed this one as a commission from someone who had bought previously from me on eBay; he asked for a silver surfer bust as the “Guardian” from the mid 90s comics, where the surfer had the quantum bands for a while.

YoI should go work for Marvel comics as well as doing cons selling copies of your work.

Much like your dioramas, there is a lot to be seen. I just now saw the Spiderman image as part of the "spotlight." Unbelievable talent.

By the way, sorry again for the shameless plug… I sell all of this art, usually on eBay, and I of course would much rather sell it here. If anything interests you that I post, please PM me, and since eBay takes about 15% of my sale, I’d sell it for that much cheaper directly here!
Edit: the Black Cat piece is gone, but Rogue and Venom are not 👌

Right, but I ink directly over the pencils! With a couple of other things in the past, I would keep the pencils as a separate drawing, and just Xerox it, so that I could ink over the Xerox copy and keep the pencils separate, but I pretty much just combine them now 👍

Amazing!!! Do you ever draw characters from Star Wars, GI Joe or Indy? Or do you pretty much stick to Marvel?

Can you just, like....pretend that Indiana Jones and Darth Vader are Marvel????? ;)(y)Do.....do you see where I'm going? 🤞 :ROFLMAO: I mean, there is a Marvel Star Wars comics line now, so...I mean...it'd be consistent.

Ha, I guess I could do a Lucasfilm-related piece…😅

Here’s another one from this year, a Cap versus Wolverine breakdowns up to full inks:IMG_0739.jpegIMG_0786.jpegIMG_0779.jpegIMG_0778.jpeg

Just like with dioramas, sometimes I have to revisit my drawn art if something is bugging me! Here are some shadows and details added to the Punisher piece:

And I revisited my original Black Cat piece by completely redrawing her in a new pose with better background details (it’s funny, but the guy who bought it had an issue with the delivery person on his end, and consequently, there was some damage and unhappiness, so I felt like I needed to make a better one and sell again!). This one, just as all others in the past, are on eBay under my same username of daigo-bah 👌

Somehow I missed the Punisher from December, this is another great work!

Thank you! Notice in the early pencils that I had his right foot behind the stone, and it was a perspective problem, so by the finished pencils, I had redrawn it to be in front of the rubble!

Yeah, I see that now. I also notice the wooden fence behind him which reminds me of many shots of your dios with the fence in your yard in the background over the years. This was from one of the pics of the flood damage from Ida...

Makes me think of my own fence. That type of wooden picket is pretty common I guess but it made me wonder if you used that real world element as a template/model. Was it deliberate?

Great thought, though it didn’t really consciously enter my mind! I was trying to think of variations to brick walls to sort of encircle the main character, but that’s a great catch!

Hey guys! A friend recently commissioned me to do a Nightcrawler piece for his son‘s birthday; here are several WIP pics, from the original small concept sketch next to the early breakdowns, followed by each step after. The last two pics show how I started inks early, before the final pencils, which is in the last pic. I’ll update when I finish it!

Here’s the final inked piece! By the way, if anyone likes the work enough and is interested in a comic or Star Wars character commission, PM me! I’d rather do something for people that I know than just sell on eBay, plus I would make it cheaper for my pals 🤩

I’ve been using Tombow gray markers over my black-and-white inked art, and made a couple of new ones including this Doctor Strange and Deadpool versus Wolverine:

Today I revisited my Deadpool versus Wolverine piece because I realized that I didn’t make Logan‘s outfit dark on his upper torso like it should be; additionally, I put some more lines in to help define the gray markers a bit more.
