Hasbro will be releasing in the basic line an Old Ben Kenobi figure in the 6" line, the SDDC version will come with the table:

Who's going to be buying this? Thoughts on this figure?

I will get him as a core character even though I have never been a fan of the Jedi. One thing I must say though, those plastic inner sleeves are so terrible as to be offensive. It looks like they cut the legs off an old Kenner Palpatine figure, painted them tan, and replaced the feet with his hands. His hands should at least be positioned so the sleeve appears to be draped over his arm, not right in the middle like that. This one is a perfect example of when soft goods would have actually been preferred.

Great to see he'll have the fabric robe. This figure is looking good in all the display pictures I've seen. Definitely looking forward to him.

Easy buy for me! All these new figures are looking good hopefully the production ones are just as good.

LOL. I was thinking the same thing. I felt that the ROTS Anakin and Kenobi needed soft goods sleeves too for their various poses. Would look terrific if the sleeves were able to drape naturally regardless of how the arms were posed.

I would love to have the table, but this works. Glad they included the robe. Granted they had to with this version.

Finally, never bothered with the other ObiWan, just didn't feel right to me.

I actually just picked up the ROTS Obi-Wan about a week ago, but only because I finally got Anakin. I have to admit, that Obi-Wan isn't as bad as I thought he was. He'd be way better if he had come with a cloak. Maybe I'll pick up a spare Old Ben for that very reason.

The Hasbro old Ben is really not great. The face is just ok. Additionally I don't think he'll be able to sit down - like Palpatine.
However he's great custom fodder for other figures.... a Jedi body, jedi robes, and a saber. I would buy an extra just for the robe and sell the naked figure.

I used an ROTS Obi-Wan and made a custom OT Ben. My wife even made a soft goods bottom "skirt". So worst case, I'll boil and pop the plastic bottom off the Hasbro version and use the one my wife made. I'll probably even swap the robe for the Rickhor one I purchased for the custom. As far as not having the Luke saber, I can either buy another Tatooine Luke or the Rey with saber now.

I agree this is one great likeness, one of the best I've seen in awhile with him being a human figure. Hasbro has been lacking in the human likeness category.

We've had some misses for sure on human likenesses - Luke, Leia for sure. But this is not something to complain about. I think this is one of the best human likenesses hasbro has done yet in the 6" line. Very proud & thankful for this release.

Not a bad likeness at all. These things can sometimes be let down by a bad paintjob even when they do a good sculpt.

His hair is kind of blonde though. Seems like Hasbro is afraid to paint gray hair lately.

Tried taking the lightsaber blade out of the hilt on this figure last night and it just broke. Anyone else had the same problem?

I have to say, he does look petty good. Outside of Rebels characters and Revan, he's the only 6" I own. And that was purely by chance, because he was in the case I bought. And since I have no shot at the SDCC version, this will have to suffice. One of the best looking for sure.

I did with my SDCC one. NEVER twist, only pull.

This one is designed differently, when I got the one from my case I heated the hilt some, also l sanded the peg down a little.

Too late for me I'm afraid, but good advice for those who haven't done this yet. Oh well, as my figure is now officially broken I decided to customise him and make his odd blonde hair the grey it always should have been. The figure looks a million times better.

If you pull the broken piece out of the hilt you can get the blade to still wegde in for display at least.

Yup. I broke the blade in the hilt on Friday. I had it in a ziplock bag and must've dropped it at some point. It's easy enough to drill out the broken piece, making the hilt opening bigger, and then push the fatter broken end into the new hilt hole.

Just noticed yesterday that there's a slight difference in the sleeve/wrist on the SDCC version and the regular release version.
The SDCC one has the sleeves all the way down to the wrist, with no molded out cuff for the wrist. Meanwhile this standard version has a recessed cuff where the wrist peg is slotted in and more hidden. It's minor, but a nice improvement.

The only old Ben I've ever seen in store was just his box cause someone put an EPIII Obi Wan in there and refunded it. Don't really want to order him online as I want to see how the face looks. Same with the Snowtroopers, don't want to order them online cause I want the not as dirty one. I ordered Sabine online and got the one with the pegs in the holster but actually wanted the one without pegs.

Check your local Chapters/ Indigo. The ones around here have had cases of this wave coming in since before Christmas.

Other than Gamestop, and some random reports seeing them at Walmart, no one has.

Actually many retailers have put this figure on clearance because of overstock with the awful case assortment of the 40th Anniversary first wave

i broke my old kenobi's blade the other day just by pulling on it. the weird thing is I took out once before this with no problem. its a major bummer.

has anyone tried putting the old kenobi head on the ROTS kenobi body? I love the ANH Kenobi but I hate how his leg articulation is limited by the molded robes at his waist.

You could always replace his "skirt" with fabric.

(Since this photo, I've also swapped blades with the ROTS version to give Old Ben a more silver-ish blade)

Did the blade break off at the peg? I picked up this fig and started to remove the blade and it really does not want to give. I started to heat it with a hair dryer but chickened out.
