Looks awesome. I know the base sculpt is "inaccurate" to the one picture among many that people associate with this look, but I truthfully cannot bring myself to care about, I dunno, the kneepads not having two lines they should or the chest box not being smooth. It has way more than the broad strokes of an always-changing design.

Vader looks great, I’d love to score him. But Ob1 looks pretty bad to me. The head sculpt is ok but that body has too many limitations imo

They both look pretty bad to me. I'd be all in for proper McQuarrie concept figures, but not half assed ones like these. This whole set doesn't even make sense...it should be Vader and Luke.
Actually it should be Vader and Deak Starkiller... :) But yeah, I hope we get some more black series concept figures eventually.

You're absolutely right but, knowing Hasbro they wouldn't have called him Deak Starkiller since they already released the figure once and called it Luke Skywalker. Regardless, this is what this set should have been:

To be fair, Hasbro paired Obi-Wan with Yoda back in the McQuarrie sub-line in TAC, and they were based on art from different films. So this pairing isn't that much of a stretch.

This set is a lazy by Hasbro nightmare.

Inaccurate in every way possible and insulting to the late, great Ralph McQuarrie.

If Hasbro think that sticking a new concept inspired Vader head on a ultra modern sculpted body, colour him blue, and then also paint differently an Obi-Wan modern sculpt with a new concept head is acceptable to collectors, then Hasbro are taking the mickey.

Utterly Shameful mockery.

Picked this set up at D23 Expo today. Retail price is $59.99

Unless it's gonna' be this afternoon or 3AM tomorrow morning, I guess they were wrong about this going up this week.

Kinda hoping to grab the Vader somewhere. You know I still don’t have a black series Vader. I’d kinda love to only have this one just to be weird.

Damnit they got me. I really liked this one but just wasn’t sure I was going to pull the trigger. Then they had the little Droid Factory Bob Cratchit-lookin’ guy up and I threw two of those in for free shipping. I have no sales resistance when it comes to Christmas decor or free shipping…

…or anything much else for that matter.

I’m getting much better at fighting the FOMO. This set is like the Cassian set for me in that I just want 1 figure, Vader in this case. Not worth shelling out $65 for me. Glad it’s easily available for everyone though

However, the Obi head would fit an imperial officer so well, I think :)
But I agree.

It def would. And I dig the differently styled lightsabers. But that old OB1 body is beat and really tough the get a cool pose out of

Same here. I like that ShopDisney tends to get in-stock items processed and shipped pretty fast. Hopefully, all is well with their packaging standards.

I’d love everyone TAC did…especially the McQuarrie snowtrooper.
me too, i wish they could've worked in a couple more in the 2008 waves like concept Lando and Bespin guard or a bounty hunter, but the IG-88 did come out later in TLC

Looking back, the TAC line was simply the pinnacle of interesting characters with incredible accessories. What a great time in Hasbro SW collecting.
Yeah the 30th and Legacy lines were the best years for SW figures imo. Soooo many great EU releases we’ll never see again
