Just spotted these on Instagram. No idea if these are the only two available, but they are exclusive to the Droid Depot inside of Galaxy's Edge, which means they likely won't be available on shopDisney.com, which is a total bummer.

Sooo....anybody local to the parks willing to help me out?;)

Just noticed, the words STAR WARS are not on the packaging, but then there aren't on the color change items either (or at least on front side)

Yup, which is sadly why they probably won't be available on shopDisney.com: GE exclusives

Wish these would become available to people who can’t get to Disney or don’t want to spent $50 each on eBay. Isn’t one of the parks closed? And the other operating under limited capacity.

The one thing I really like about these is the fact they do not say "Star Wars" on the front of the packaging. But I am also worried that the day I feel that my collection feels "complete" they will do carded figures of my favorite droids. 😩

Oh wait. I prefer collecting my favorite characters on their 'debut' cards. Anxiety diverted. But this now has me wonder about the Droid Factory line! Hopefully they will do more since some of you guys like that line. So I'll hope for the best.

hence, my post in another thread:
You'd think Disney would offer thrn online given park attendance is low and CA closed still. Why offer something that you can't sell due to accessibility? But hell, go buy 'm on eBay right now for $50 each, LOL yeah right. So far just these 2 are on eBay.

assuming these WILL NOT hit disney online shop or even target (pipe dream, lol) I may entertain trading a set of army builders (PT, OT) for these if anyone w/galaxy edge access is interested

I figure these will be going to Target and online eventually since Disney is hurting so badly.

I hope you're right. But other pegwarming GE 3.75" products have not been seen on shopdisney. I hoped and thjough that a few weeks ago, shopdisney was going to start catryiing G E park excls, but all they had launched were sabers and apparel, I believe, but definitely no 3.75" figure stuff. Here's are back side shots from ebay. You just gotta love these sellers that clearly show the retail price yet charge almost 4x.

You want to talk ridiculous, I needed a TVC Han from the Solo movie for a custom so I bookmarked it to come back later with some other stuff to buy. Well when I returned only a few days later the price had doubled to $21 and change! And that wasn't the 3rd part sellers so I reported the item, not that anything will happen. Star Wars is just one of those properties for scalping and the more exclusives that are made the worse it gets.

I wonder if they are doing 4 LOM because he looks so much like that droid from the Mandalorian, Q9-0.

My guess is that 4-LOM was green-lit because he's an easy repaint of existing BAD parts.

I'm just so pleased that they sprang for new tooling on CB-23. We so seldom see new domes.

Weirdly, the card art on CB-23 is flipped. I guess it was done so for compositional reasons. In any case, it doesn't bother me as an opener, but it is odd as it means the greeblies on her dome are on the wrong side in the artwork.

Has anyone tried to call their 800# to see if these could be orderable via disney deliverears? In past call in orders have been hit/miss.

Good question. I haven't heard any success stories of using that service in Galaxy's Edge.

I almost did today but got sidetracked. I’m definitely going to try tomorrow. Does anyone know if they are being sold out side of Galaxy’s edge? Thanks usually what allows a sale.

It has Droid Depot exclusive branding so I'm going to guess it's in Galaxy's Edge only.

And since they won't ship Galaxy's Edge merchandise, it seems unlikely.

But times are weird so who knows. Doesn't hurt to ask.

Saying they aren’t doing the concierge service right now. I guess they prefer people going into the park instead . Seems short sighted if you ask me.

Thanks, I kinda figured (no pun intended) that 'd be the case. Maybe if they continue w/ select GE items on shopdisney, (which release #2 was about month after #1 again non 3.75" related stuff though) they'll end up there OR prices become more reasonable on eBay. eBay prices tend to drop after a month or so it seems. I have, in hand, a lot of 10 +/- loose army builders i am willing to trade for the pair if anyone has access to GE and purchasing a few for fellow rebelscummers

@ $100+ a ticket you bet they want you in the park, for these droids.
But would they want you in the park if you end up sick and contact tracing places them as the source of your covid? Really, with 1 park having limited access and the other (in USA- not sure about other areas) closed, mail/phone orders is the surest way to move product at the time. Good service now, may help secure a in person visit later

Just for heck if it, I went over to shopdisney and was put in virtual waiting room. Usually that happens when they drop new stuff and are having high traffic...I wonder,..... I doubt these droids, but still I wonder....

Amusement parks in general not just Disney, need people in their parks to survive. They don't care, these figures are the carrot to get you in. Lots of covid cases have gone in & out of Disney. & one of the frustrations is people being asked to contract trace haven't always been honest.

I know. How reliable is contact tracing anyways? It not like one is isolated w/ half dozen people in a closed facility for months...like in Alien.

Still though, selling a few online is better than selling 0 at a closed park shop. And clearing up shop space for park shop that is open to allow other stuff to be stocked. If product is still coming in from manufacturers.
But I'm not into sales and decision making, I'm just a consumer w/ some $$ to spend but can't due to silly business decisions

*a consumer that is a Disney23 club member i might ad.

Look at it this way guys: You aren't even getting into the park for under $160 (single day pass + parking cost), so even if you lived near the park, the two figures are costing you just a bit under $200 at the end of the day. Now factor in costs for those of us who don't live near the park, or even in FL. A lot of money would be spent to obtain these figures. Granted you're also getting a fun experience for your money, but we're talking purely financials here. So in my opinion, paying double or triple for these figures on ebay, isn't that big of a deal. Doing so would still be cheaper than you going there yourself to get them.

Pretty much the same as paying secondary market prices for most Con exclusives after you factor in the badges, travel, lodging, etc. it would have cost to attend the Con to get the item.

Or they could just make figures that are widely available to the general public through one of their many points of sale (shopDisney, shopDisney app, Disney stores). Usually the best way to sell products. I mean, a $12.99 figure isnt really going to entice people into the parks. I live in the Boston area, I haven’t set foot in a Disney park in 20 years. Nor do I plan on going any time soon. Having these types of exclusives makes very little sense, especially at a time when fewer people are traveling due to the many restrictions right now. The only people they tend to benefit is people who live close enough to the parks to grab several and sell online.

yeah but a mark-up on should be reasonable, $50 for a $13 is not in my book. Some of these disney item sellers are park employees so there's no ticket/travel/lodging fees etc. Heck they are even getting paid to be there in the 1st place. Who knows, maybe the rep on the phone on their next break runs over to the shop and buys a bunch to flip because they learn people are wanting this stuff and cannot get them themselves

You will get no argument from me that I would LOVE to have these be available online for MSRP. However, exclusive Disney items (and not just Star Wars items) that are available only in specific areas of the park, are not only nothing new, they are a BIG money generator for the park. That's why they continually have hundreds of exclusive park items every season, most of which are under a $25 price point. It's just part of how Disney generates additional revenue. You can dislike it all you want, but it's not some poorly made and arbitrary decision made by a random marketing exec. They know people are going to want these badly, and that's what they count on.

people that cant go want items too. But like i said, selling a few online now is better than selling zero at a closed park. And for the Flo park, , there's fewer people going in to the park so ideally fewer in person sales. Online sales will help their sales at the end of the day, so if these are BIG money generators, online sales would bring in more money. Now if you are saying online sales will cost the park money in the food courts, I can understand that. Yet, if people don't have to spend money on a hot dog and nachos or an expensive dinner, they may buy more items online than just the 12.99 CB-23.. If these 2 droids were on shopdisney, I may also be inclined to go ahead and grab the retro monopoly game as well giving my extra $53 to shopdisney instead of pulse (haven't decided if i want that game just yet). I cant see putting these online now would be the sole culprit of hurting ticket sales. What's hurting ticket sales are limits to how many they can sell for a given day. During a pandemic, one would think a company would alter their sales techniques to reach as many customers as possible. If we were not in midst of pandemic, then OK limit sales to in-person customers. But there's no apparent logic to further limit sales in the current situation we are all in at the moment. They opened online orders for BB-H20 immediately, so why not Gal. Edge items? Heck, putting more GE items online may in the end, draw more people to come to see GE in person when its safe to do so.

Disney World is currently open, which is how these are showing up on ebay. And if they were to make these available online (which again, I would be happy about), then they would pretty much need to put ALL of their park exclusives online, and that's just not gonna happen. It is what it is. You don't have to like it, but there's no point in not accepting the reality of it. We're all gonna have to pony up the extra cash if we want to own one or both of these.

I think Disney already realizes they need an alternate way to move merchandise, that’s why they started moving products to Target first and now to shopDisney selling the Batuu items. So either selling exclusives with one park open with limited visitors in a pandemic is working...or it’s not and requires online sales to move products. Kind of mixed messages from Disney.

Being a d23 member. I'd settle for d23 club members to have some kind of access to online/phone ordering of park excls. D23 should have some perks (not really saying they don't), but so far the only perk I took advantage of was the 3 year subscription for disney+ for a discount. I'd like more perks adaptable to my needs/wants.

None of the Galaxy's Edge stuff sold at Target was available inside GE, or anywhere else in the park. It was just a promotion meant to bring attention to GE. The 6" REX and Hondo were part of multipacks available in the park, true, but the Target promo wasn't Disney trying to move merchandise. None of that stuff came from the parks. The six B.A.D. sets were produced by Hasbro specifically for the promo. Hasbro doesn't make the B.A.D. figures that are sold inside the parks. Also, the remote controlled BB droid was the old Hasbro r/c BB-8, just molded in different colors. It was not the same r/c BB droid that guests can build at Droid Depot inside GE.

That would be a good perk for being a member.

well then moving parks only merchandise on shopDisney? That seems to be the parks trying to find an alternate way to sell exclusive merchandise due to fewer people in the parks right?

Possibly. I was just clearing up some misconceptions you had about the whole thing. Like I said before, I'll be first to celebrate if they make those figures available online. I'm just explaining why you shouldn't expect that to happen anytime soon. Disney doesn't owe it to us to do that, but if they decide to, I'm all for it!
