My current collection

WOW! You are lucky to be alive! Crazy!!! Glad your ok!
Indeed I am my friend. It was crazy. I actually had these reruns of the accident in my head, over and over for the first week. When I see some of the accidents these X Game Moto guys into, I think of mine and know how painful they can be.

Oh my God! So sorry to read about your accident. Thank you for sharing such bad experience with us. I used to ride with my husband until our first son was born and it was time for a car. Luckily for us we did not have any accidents, but we did have a lot of scares with crazy drives.

I am partially to blame, as I always pushed it with speed. But I also know my limits, and that road not being properly marked was the perfect storm I guess.

I got my ESB mini pack cards on Thursday. They are pretty awesome! Just been too tired to share. They are releasing ROTJ ones too. I will pass on those. Going to stick to the Count Chocula ones going forward. The cards are cool, but pricey and I need to buy an album to display them.

Been working a ton lately and OT is not going to end for months . Personally, I hate OT on so many levels. You are taxed at 40%, so the extra money is not even worth losing 10 hours of your life to work every month. But I am off on a 4 day weekend for the 4th, so I will take some photos of the cards then. With all this extra work and hardly anywhere to go these days, I have so much PTO and nowhere to enjoy it. There are worse problems than that, I will admit;).

I also got a couple more Motocross helmets and cleared out a shelf on my one curio to display (part of them) better.

Got my Carey Hart helmet in today, which is in the middle (even came with the googles!!). Hart was the first and second to ever attempt and land the backflip in competition, but he didn't ride it out. Not that I like her music, but he is also Married to Pink.

I also got my Eli Tomac replica Monster Energy helmet in (far left). Tomac won the 450 CC this year and got his first ever title. I cleared out all my signed baseballs and made room for these helmets. My Evel Knievel and Nitro Circus Pastrana ones are with my General Lee car on my stunt shelf.

Helmets are cool ,Travis. Even for a sports hater like me. :) ... One of them is next to the General who car? :)

I like Pink she's feisty and her husbands rad!
I never liked her music, at all. But she seems like a decent lady. She stuck with Hart after his accident on the second flip and then ended up marrying him. She's been with him for at least 20 years or more. So I will give her credit for that, no doubt.

Carey is awesome, I always liked him.

I am glad you like them hater ;)! Sorry, I meant Sara Lee. But she may be next on the list...guilty by association and all.

Oh I know her, I know her. She makes good sweats. General Sara Lee! Isn't she related to Bruce Lee? ... Oh , I also like Pink. The funniest is the cartoon at the beginning of the movies with the panther and inspector Trudeau :D

I may not be on much tomorrow, so I wanted to post this today. I cannot in my entire life recall a more divisive Independence Day, and I think we all really need this:

Just because Kirby and Stan Lee's Captain America was a bad@s$!

Update to my refocused SW collection-I just moved some pieces around. Also my Evel Knievel shelf is updated as well! Waiting for another Jeremy McGrath replica Bell Motocross helmet to come this week in the empty spot.

I only have 4 SW items coming in the future: Boba Fett ESB Hot Toys Kenner version, Hasbro Boba Black Series Carbonized & Boba ESB retro 6" and Vader Carbonized 6" figures. So not a ton, other than those awesome cereal repro retro cards. I like the tightened focus more than collecting lots of items, and it keeps it under my limited space control as I continue to add to my helmet collection all the time LOL.

Lastly, I will say it is a shame I am showing this in the GG section, and my GG collection is all but gone. I did also keep the animated Vader and Leia pieces, but they are elsewhere in the office. But with GG / Diamond being the way they are these days, I do not hold out much hope of really ever buying their products again. The one hold out I have is if they ever make the Vader Legends in 3D bust. But other than that...it's sad how little I care about the company anymore, a company with Legends in 3D and Attakus that really got me into higher end SW collectables.

Looks great! Nice setup! There is the Stunt Cycle!!! Just watched Ford vs Ferrari. Some reason this reminds me of the film.

Got in my Troy Lee Designs Jeremy McGrath replica helmet today! I love the chrome undercoat and the Maryland flag inspired design that goes on throughout the helmet.

The color scheme reminds me of one of the nicer sports designs out there, the Washington Redskins. Nope...wait...they don't exist anymore?? Well at least it really compliments the General Lee '69 Charger model on the top shelf. What? Wait...that name doesn't exist anymore either?? I can't keep up!

I guess it's good people are so selective about who's history they judge. Be a shame if they ever looked into the Associated Press, Kodak, Coca Cola, Hugo Boss and IBM. Not like these upstanding companies ever did anything during WWII in Germany that would offend anyone. Nope...

I agree! The Wonder Bread R2 Card is THE one that gets me! That was the first card I got! Had that..the remote landspeeder and light saber that was a low up blade.

Cool Star Wars book collection there, did you manage to get the Making of trilogy books?
Thanks for the compliments, Serg!

I have original The Making of ROTS when it came out, in hard bound. I used to own Making of AOTC hardbound too, but let someone "borrow" it years ago and never got it back.

As far as the newer books that came out more recently, I only own The Making of ESB. Which is in an excellent book! I want to get the The Making of SW but I just never got around to it.

As you can see, my shelf is jam packed. So every time I get a new SW book, I have to take a non SW book and throw it in the closet LOL.

Yes, that R2 card is awesome. Same with any with Tusken Raiders, C3P0 or Vader, they all looked so grungy and used like it was a real universe. I think as a kid that was what appealed to me most about SW. How it looked like a lived in place. The '70s honestly made the best films.

I never had the remote Landspeeder, you are lucky! I always wanted that. I never had the blow up lightsaber blades either. I think by the time we got them they were the hollow plastic hard tubes that whistled when you swung them for ESB.

Yes loved the look the feel everything! You weren't missing anything with the light saber. never stayed in the hilt. Was not a well conceived product..but did it matter at the time? The Landspeeder was cool though! Face it we had the best childhood. Before cell phones killed it all.

You got that right Joe, we did! I heard that about the lightsabers, but they looked so cool! The worst toy I ever got (I think a year before SW figures) was a creature that looked like the Abomination, and was made of stretchy material. Well, I stretched it and the syrup looking crap came out! I mean it didn't even last 5 minutes!! I was like WTH?

And yes, cellphones and social media suck and have ruined it all.

I think I had that stretchy figure. I had a ton of figures. Star Trek Battlestar and Black Hole. Talk about galactic battles! Hope your doing good! Still the same here.

6 degrees Celsius that makes it about 42 degrees Fahrenheit. Awesome! Heck, that rarely ever happens here in sticky hot Miami. Oh, how I miss the New Jersey weather every time I read things like this! Good for your Metallica figures, Paul. I should show you guys a picture of how my set's looking so you can have a laugh :) ....

Sorry for raising an old topic but I have an issue with my Mcfarlane Metallica set.

It's been stored away for a number of years.
I've gone to set it up to put on display and the sounds and lights are no longer working 😟

I've tried new batteries. There doesn't seem to be any corrosion, all the wires are still in place and are solder well to their connection points.

I'm not electrical minded but thought I'd ask if folks had any ideas as to what could be causing the issue?

Thanks

It sounds to me the problem could be the internals of the push button switch might be corroded thus not allowing for a proper contact between the two actuator parts in it. I'm not an electrician, but did have years ago a push button switch replaced for one of my son's toys, and that's what I was told was wrong with it at the electronics store. Sorry to hear your set is not working.

I bought mine individually carded. I didn't know the box set had sound? Hope you can repair it🤞
Weird similar story, my son has a plush toy character Baymax from big hero six. When you press his heart he'd say phrases from the movie.
Now this feature stopped working a long time ago and I tried replacing the battery similar to the Hot Toys batteries but didn't work, so sealed him back up... Months later eerily Baymax started making electronic screech sound on his own, so I tampered some more and again couldn't get him to work. So I pulled the wires from the activation switch to stop the mentioned noise. Baymax is still loved and has his place in my sons room, but even spookier with all the connections removed only last week Baymax started speaking his phrases clear as day when my son gently squashed him 😅 honestly it's a little creepy but it made us all do happy he worked again and still does 🤷‍♂️

Cheers, I'll have to have a look or get my father in law to glance over it. He's not too bad with wiring as he flys model aircraft so he's use to tinkering with stuff like that.

Until I was looking on eBay last night, I didn't realise the figures came as individual.
They fetch a pretty penny now days, as does the box set.
Thought I'd replace the set but looking at the prices, I'll try the fixing route and save myself a few hundred quid.

Yeah. I bought mine as a set with stage when it came out. It plays a sample of "One" and the lights switch colors with the music. Great set. I also wanted the Motley Crue set with stage. I saw it only once at Spencer's, and by the time I went back to get it, it was sold out. It is now highly priced whenever you can find it. I never got it.

It's funny how some electronics work. Some of them don't last very long while others seem to last a lifetime. When my son was 4 years old (we are talking 2004), I got him a Mr. Potato Head electronic game, never replaced the batteries. For years now, that game has been in my garage inside a tote bin. To this day, every time I go look for stuff in that tote bin or bump it with a box, Mr. Potato head goes wild: "Hi, I'm Mr. Potato Head. Let's play a game. Touch my nose" I swear I think the toy is possessed! It keeps going on and on until it finally says he's going to sleep. Crazy! :)
