MOTU Origins

I'm definitely in for all 4 turtles! If they're going to do all the tmnt characters in that poster, I'll get them all. Missing an April though.

Spotted three at my local Target a week or two ago, down to two now. They weren't in the regular toy aisle, they were over in the big/overstock kind of area past the neca/collectors section and the media/books/movies etc.
I'm assuming all Target's are set up vaguely the same...

OK good to know - that's exactly where I found a Greyskull previously, by the big PowerWheels section and large item wall shelving.

That Moss Man is the ONE figure that keeps evading me - I can't stand MOTU distribution. It has been absolute s*** for years...

I can see if these are still here and snag one for you, but I don't know if they'd be for this price still...

A local Walmart did restock on Moss Man figures, saw 8 of them.

Here's to hoping! I'd certainly take you up on the offer plus the shipping of course. I may wait at least one more month to see if they ever get in. It's unbelievable how bad our pocket of the market is, honestly. The only thing that rolls through consistently is Mattel JP. Ninja Turtles has been strong too, oddly enough. Star Wars and MOTU are dog s*** around here.

Send me a PM if you want me to check! That walmart is by my work, so I'd have to check at lunchtime.

The walmarts by me are real hit and miss, so I got into a habit of not going to any of them much. As a result, the rare times I do go, I end up finding something.

FINALLY got me a King Randor today from BBTS - it's unreal how long it took me to get that damn figure in my collection. Happy to say I never paid the ludicrous $30+ (and rising) online from scalpers. I swear Mattel undersold and underproduced him on purpose - now he's got a new label "fan favorite"....gee, ya think? He was more like "fan can't get".

Also scored a heck of a deal on Snake Mountain - it was down to $63 on sale this past weekend and I had $15 of Circle cash to use, so a $45ish Snake Mountain for me. I really dig it, I think it's cooler than Grayskull in a lot of ways. It looks better all expanded too - excuse the mess in my toy room lol.

I ordered two from BBTS by mistake, but gave one to a friend for early Christmas gift.

I saw that the Ninjor I ordered hit my pile of loot yesterday (i think he was listed at the same time King Randor was). I also ordered the Point Dread set for $15 yesterday from Target while it was on sale.

Randor wasnt the worst. At least people did have a chance to pre-order that one, and they were fulfilled. Thunder Punch is the most disappointing. For that figure they didnt even fulfill advance pre-orders :(

They were both awful and embarrassing distribution. It was literally like they wanted to punch my childhood in the face - I took it personally, as both those figures made up half of my He-Man collection and Thunder Punch was my very first action figure ever at age 3. I did manage to get 2 Thunder Punches, but that was because I called a Target and they had them in the back. I never, ever saw them on store shelves. I still have yet to see the latest Deluxe Wave as well. It's unreal a Fortune 500 company gets away with not actually stocking their products properly in the stores that are supposed to sell them. I guarantee it's not the stores fault, if you carry the MOTU product you should be forced to stock the shelves with it as it comes out.

What is the latest Deluxe wave? Walmart, target and Meijer by me all have different deluxe figures out (and have for some time).

I think it is Snake Face and Dragon Blaster Skeletor. Not sure if there is a He-Man to go along with it in this wave.

Thanks. I know I saw a Dragon Blaster Skeletor recently. It stuck out to me because I kept thinking it was the Terror Claws Skeletor and that's when I realized it wasn't.

Its all about the packaging for me haha,i won't even open it.

MOTU was just a *little* bit before my time, so there's no nostalgia there for me, but I have to be honest, I am in love with all the packaging art. Just excellent!

I was born in '85, so it just barely escaped me. I basically don't remember a time before the Real Ghostbusters and TMNT cartoons. I had some New Adventures of He-Man figures, but as for the originals, the only time I'd even see the figures is if I had a friend that had an older brother that had them. And even that was rare - it was mostly GI Joes and beat up Star Wars toys.

Looking back at the original MOTU and Advanced DnD figures, I definitely feel like I missed out.

Yeah i think thats the slight generation gap.I love Ghostbusters, but moreso the movies. And TMNT,but mostly the comics. Then theres things like MMPR that i never was into at all. I never had DnD figs as a kid,but i got some of NECAs just cause i thought they look so cool.

Ghostbuster and TMNT were (for me) from the cartoons. Late 80s/early 90s cartoons and shows were the gateway for stuff like them, Robocop and Swamp Thing. MMPR hit right at the right time for me as a kid, but it was short-lived, comparatively (2nd grade to 5th grade, then completely out of it). The NECA DnD figures are excellent.

Well I never did manage to score a Roton for $5. The Walmart that had them (and was resolutely refusing to mark them down past $13) had a fire in November (some meth head looking dork lit clothes on fire in the men's department so he could walk a cart out the door; as you might imagine, he's in jail now and looking at probably a seven figure fine that he doesn't look to me like he can pay) which set off the sprinklers in areas and caused smoke damage, yadda yadda, so they took advantage of it and salvaged out all their clearance stuff to a local chain that deals in such things. Who promptly put them out for $20. lol.

BUT, in the category of nice finds, at Target this evening, found a Point Dread set kind of knocked off to the side, shelf tag said on clearance from $39.99 to $27.99. Scanned it with the app and found it was $11.99! Sold.

wouldn't you believe it - half a year later PA decided to get some new stock on MOTU.

I scored a Moss Man (FINALLY!) and rang him up as a regular figure - I really couldn't care less about Mattel losing money. I waited long enough and wasn't about to pay the $40 heinous price tag - so sue me lol. The other two were surprises as I got a Spikor and a Squeeze as well. They had both the Snake Armor MAA and the Snake zombie MAA, but those don't interest me. I had seen the Armor one before and easily passed. Kinda bothers me that we had to have TWO Man-At-Arms figures in the same wave. Just seems like more peg warm bait after that Wave 4 debacle or whatever that was with Naked Stratos. Like, have they NOT learned a thing?

Still no sign of Deluxe Packs outside of the Fang-Or and Clamp Champs at Ollie's.

In my Pile of Loot delivery this weekend, I got Ninjor, Cartoon Man At Arms, and Leonardo and Donatello. Ninjor is a lot more fun than I expected. Man At Arms is great, but I think his ray gun is missing an arm. His bubble was essentially unglued, so it could be in the shipping box still. The turtles are awesome. Leo's bicep armor is a little cumbersome and he looks so much cooler without it. Donnie is great but knowing that Man At Arms comes with the other half of his Bo staff, it looks incomplete.

Also, a friend of mine picked me up a Battle Armor Skeletor from Ross and I love it. He just looks so cool.

BA Skelly is a classic - he was my only Skeletor as a kid and I loved that feature. Always fun landing hits and see his chest change for the worse haha. I've noticed a lot lately that the figure heads are super wobbly and not really tight to the ball joint. Have you guys noticed this as well? I get that they are meant to be interchangeable, but they are little bobble heads, any little slight bump and the head is moving.

That damage feature works REALLY well on this one (or at least mine). It holds on place well, but doesn't take much force at all to change.

I've actually had the opposite problem - I thought the heads were too tight. Even the arms on some too. The figures come with that little page showing where parts can pop off, but it took a lot more effort that I expected to get them out.

Depends on the figures, I was asking if anyone noticed it on recent figures. It would be the last 2-3 waves starting with Flying Fists He-Man. It seems like every figure I've gotten since that wave has a bobble head and it's extremely easy to movie around.

I just caught wind that they are releasing some greatest hits too? Someone got a Tri-Klops, the only figure I regret not getting when I had him in hand. Saw him once - never again. There are reports of She-Ra showing up too again, I saw 2 with photo evidence at stores. I hope I can get my hands on my cycloptic friend soon.

new Origins Sy-Klone figure from Mattel Creation website already sold out since 3 or 4 PM earlier today. Damn that was fast.

Origins Rokkon sold out instantly earlier this month or whatever. Origins Rokkon figures are like up to 50 and 70 bucks on Ebay. Yeesh
