MOTU Origins

trying to find Thunder Punch He-Man - he's my most wanted figure of the entire line and of course he's sold out all around me. Not one Target had him..
 
I was just at a Target and they were pretty cleaned out. Definitely didn't have Thunder Punch He-Man.
 
What a rat race - I had spoken to like 4 different Targets and all of them said the same thing "sold out" - one toy lady had the nerve to actually tell me they were sold, were old figures and weren't even getting them in again. I'm like, "these are brand NEW!" - I can't fathom how out of touch these toy managers/purchasers are with their actual job and the actual stocks coming in and out. So finally I contacted a nice fellow at a neighboring Target who proceeded to find 2 of these in the back along with King Hiss. I just don't get why everything in the back isn't put out on the main floor, ESPECIALLY when it actually sells out! This is infuriating, unless he went to the back, I'm never seeing these figures on the shelf. I almost felt bad buying 2, knowing others are looking, but it just seems like scalper trash in my area these days, so I'd like to think I'm sticking it them. I normally wouldn't even buy 2 to keep one carded, but this is the first action figure I was ever given as a 3 yr old kid and it means a lot to me to have one pristine.

now my main goals is Randor and Rattlor - these figures already seem so impossible to get and these guys are sold out everywhere online other than scalper prices. EE does have them in a case, but I only want one figure out of the whole wave and its $77 which works out to like $20 a figure, which is not the retail price of $14.99 that they are supposed to be, $16.99 adjusted for recent inflation. I hate when these online retailers don't match list price. Like why are you throwing $3 more per figure when we are still paying shipping? Makes no sense to me...
 
The so-called TOY GURU said the line has been "delisted" and there will be no future product. What's announced is the end. Apparently kids didn't get into it - not surprising.

But in all fairness, they remade pretty much the entire original run in record time for a line.
 
was able to snag Rattlor, Bolt Man and Cobra-Khan on Matty's website, and they went quick. Tung Lashor was already sold out when I got there and it was like noon in PA. I'm most excited for nabbing Rattlor - he's my 2nd most wanted figures after Randor. Still pissed that there are no Randors at any online retailer whatsoever - everything is sleezeBay $40, no thanks.
 
Wow - so I just received the previously mentioned Rattlor, Cobra Khan and Bolt Man. For me, Rattlor was one of my most wanted figures because I got him for Xmas 87 brand new as a kid. I loved this figure and that pop-up head feature is SORELY missing, but he looks fantastic. Best part - he still rattles inside! I never had Cobra Khan, but he's just so very MOTU I had to get him. That vintage-y green is too good to pass up. Also wish he still had his actual squirt feature, but the effect is fun at least.

Now all I really need is Randor and I've completed my childhood set of Thunder Punch He-Man, Battle Armor Skeletor, Rattlor, then the used figures my brother and I got were Trap Jaw with no weapons and Stratos who did have his backpack, but not his wrist feathers, and one vehicle in the Land Shark - I have all these in Origins now. The search for a Randor is proving quite ridiculous, thanks to Mattel.

Snagged this dork on clearance for $11, history repeats itself. Can't wait for Moss Man to drop.

Got Moss Man today. They're not giving him away ($39.99!), but I don't care, he's absolutely awesome. Incredible flocking and he does smell like pine, not strongly, but it's there.
And the packaging is stunning.

Nice one! It looks awesome. Im looking forward to mine. I hope Duplico and Moss Man become easy to find....
 
Yeah i went out looking for retro GI Joe Classified at WM,only to be disappointed.I did leave with Moss Man,he is awesome,not sure why the $40 price tag though. Also got a couple of beat up Rotons on clearance,but at $5 each i couldnt pass them up.

Yeah for sure . The ones i got were stickered $10 but it rang up for $5. At first i only bought one,but I finished my transaction,dropped my stuff off and went back in to buy the last one . Hopefully you'll get lucky.

All mine are still $13 unfortunately.
They did have a case of Moss-Man out. Is it weird I almost bought a second? He's just so great looking.

Yeah,its crazy. I went to 3 Wal Marts today and i saw LOTS of Rotons still.I think the cheapest i saw was $8,but you might scan one and see if the price is lower than whats stickered.Hmm...well FOMO could be a thing with Moss Man,has there been any word about just how limited edition he will be ? At 40 bucks i'm probably good with just one lol.

I scanned one at my store and it still came up at $13.
I'm holding out, magnificent as he is, that $40 price tag is bit much... I expect he'll be relatively easy to find because of it. He hits a sale though, I'm buying a second, for archival purposes. ;)

Right on. Thats still not bad for a Roton,its pretty cool toy,i put Skelly in the one i opened. Come to think of it,at the 3 WM i hit yesterday,i didnt see one Moss Man.But its possible they just didnt get him in yet.However,he is popping up but now sold out on the WM website,so it makes you wonder.
 
Mekaneck is now at 70 % off at Target,for anyone like me playing long game.I got him for $9.89,i dont think he'll go any lower than that.

What area/state?

I am still holding out hope for finding him at retail. He's been extremely hard to obtain as in, impossible. As in, nowhere. Literally not even a tag or peg, I've checked clearance too. I"m in southeast PA.
 
Just saw him yesterday in Phoenix az. It was the only orgins figure they carry and mixed in with star wars on the shelf. Looked like they put a case out.
 
Yes, that is what they did at the local Walmart where I found mine. I went back yesterday but they were all gone.
 
Only one of my two walmarts has had Moss-Man. It's sold through him three times, which is impressive.
 
I got one on Amazon and have seen it in stock at entertainment earth. Not sure if itll be in store as most stores seem to not have much now.

Spotted three at my local Target a week or two ago, down to two now. They weren't in the regular toy aisle, they were over in the big/overstock kind of area past the neca/collectors section and the media/books/movies etc.
I'm assuming all Target's are set up vaguely the same...
