Mosep Binneed - #18

wow glad i checked out the forum. i had no idea there were 2 of his species in the movie, i was lucky enough to snag 2 of them at 2 different walmarts, 1 for a custom imperial, but now i guess i gotta keep him this way and just change up the head like Stan did. So off i go to hunt down another one for my Imperial.

as far as the figure itself goes i don't understand why that insert collar/neck peg plug in thingy and why not just make it a solid normal piece. that and giving him rocker ankles and limit the range of the knees, they can't bend back at 90 degrees, and they skirt also limits the range of how far his legs can go anyways. Just on all around wierd design to me, but still a very great figure, and i really dig the red they used.

Yes all Hasbro figures now need to be worked on. There were better sculpts and paint jobs on the POTJ line!

Don't forget the one in Jabba's palace.

th

Who is the actor from Robocop, which I had forgotten until seeing the pic again LOL

Kurtwood Smith. Also starred as Eric's dad, Red Foreman, in THAT 70's SHOW.

I usually order everything online but I decided to (despite REALLY wanting these figures) to be patient and get them at retail...

I still don't have 'em. :'(

I prefer to find figures at retail too, but I was afraid he would turn out to be a rare figure. And I'm not just talking about him being hard to find at retail but finding him online at jacked up prices, like vintage collection Ponda Baba. So I've started to pre-order the figures I really want, especially if I need some for customs. I don't usually get this many figures of one character but I needed one to keep normal, one to customize into the other guy in the cantina, one to customize for Jabba's palace, and one to keep in reserve for possible future customization.

Jeez, if it's $12 and change at WM, what must BAM be selling it for?

I haven't yet posted my thoughts on this one. I'm glad they made him, but not too enthused by the way he turned out. Having neither his elbows or knees able to reach 90 degrees hurts him a lot. I passed on him first time I saw him, then thought better of it and went back for him before he sold out. He might have cost 13 bucks, but that wave had a short shelf-life and I'm relieved I won't have to hunt him down later.

I saw this guy at three different Walmarts over the weekend and nothing about it made me want to buy it, especially for $13; now if I found some Jawas instead I wouldn't think twice about it.

Originally, I only wanted one of These, but with the drought of figures we've been having and a nearby Discount Supermarket putting him out for under 10 Euros, I couldn't resist picking up another (along with the Jawas). Since I wasn't going to get anything on FF, I had my SW Thursday instead.

d@mit are you *****ting me theres a third 1.
well I customized 1 body into my Imperial intelligence officer, and left the other still in his package until I decide what to do with it.

wasn't his species also a stand in for jabba in one of the marvel comics?

maybe use one the heads for that and skip the actual in movie character all together.

I saw two Mosep figures at Walmart for 12 bucks along with a couple of Dutch Vander figures.

Whats so special about Mosep anyway? Whats the backstory on Mosep anyway?

He's just a cantina character that people have wanted for a long time. His design was also used in the original Marvel comics as Jabba the Hutt.

Here is my Mosep Binneed arrived to my already overcrowded cantina. Chatting up Leesub Sirln.

IMHO, those collectors who passed on ol' Mosep Bineed for whatever reason will be regretting that decision down the road. This is a great never-before-made cantina alien, has historical interest to SW fans due to also being the "model" for the Marvel Jabba in the original ANH comic adaptation, and was in the last wave of TBS before TFA toys hit. I do not think the character/figure will ever be re-released in a future wave, and on the off-chance that it is, it will be even more expensive that it is now...

They should have used SG for the lower tunic, similar to Tarkin but using a better material - something LEGO men cape material.

My Moseps hands fall off to much as it is. and I like the figure I really do but between that and the lack of a wash or a paint app or something on his head I could have liked him a lot better. Im glad we got him but something about him seems very subdued or plain.

I opened mine up the other day finally. Excellent figure!! My only complaint would be the lack of a wash to bring out the details on his head. Easy fix, though.

9 out of 10

Ordered him last night.

I've been looking for him for a while and finally found him for $8 shipped on Amazon and pounced on that deal.

I kind of want to swap his head onto a new body though. That red uniform looks like an Imperial's uniform. I'd rather him have more of a fringer look. :{D

Same here. I just got him off Amazon. And his hands pop off easily. For me mainly the right hand.

Also, his head isn't a ball peg?!? I was thinking I'll use his body for an Imperial Officer and put the Mosep head on a different body. Nope.

And yeah, they could have done better paint apps on his face. They gave Rey rosy rosacea/freckled cheeks, they could have at least given him a wash.

His articulation is limited too. They could have given him better sculpting to give him a better range of motion. And why waste articulating the hips if the the shirt blocks his legs from allowing him to sit?

I hope I can modify the body to allow more range of movement on this figure.

Still glad they made him though. :{D

I used an old Ki Adi Mundi head on him and gave him an Imperial badge. he's now one of my Imperial Intelligence officers.
