This crowdfunded project will run from June 7th, 2024 to 11:59pm ET on July 8th, 2024. We need 8,000 backers to fund the base offering. If successful, the project will begin shipping around Fall 2025.

Don’t miss out—fund this project today and secure this tribute to a fan-favorite locale in Star Warslore!

Our HasLab design team referenced the original blueprint and set drawings to bring the cantina to life with the level of detail you’ve come to expect from The Vintage Collection -- including a fully modular, interchangeable design.
This offering is made up of:
  • An external entrance façade
  • Main cantina entry archway and stairs
  • A large bar
  • 3 modular sitting booths
  • Archways
And from the piping behind the bar to the light fixtures and taxidermy heads for décor, HasLab brings intricate movie-inspired detail to every element.

Seedy Surroundings

What’s a bar without cups to clink together? This offering includes a plethora of accessories to help you build out your scene. The cantina features:
  • 8 round tables
  • 1 large rectangular table
  • 4 tall stools
  • 15 short stools
  • 5 single-seat chairs
  • 4 two-seat benches
  • 8 different types of cups (over 100 total cups!)
  • Barware including pipes and accessories
As the set comes together, fans can recall seeing this iconic place for the first time -- when Obi-Wan Kenobi brings Luke Skywalker to the dusty watering hole. Little did they know that when they met a certain star pilot and his Wookiee partner-in-crime, the fate of the galaxy would be forever changed.

I think both a Cantina and a Death Star playset have been heavily rumored. Have we any additional info or thoughts on which way this will go? Or potentially something out of left field?

The frontrunners seems to be:

Old Media: Cantina
New Media: Bo-Katan's Gauntlet or Ahsoka's T-6 Shuttle

I was leaning Gauntlet since last fall. However, news of the OT returning to theaters for May the 4th, plus recent Hasbro comments, has me leaning toward Cantina.

I'll add that I haven't completely written off a switcheroo and it's the Death Star @Jayson shared the focus group sketch of despite not being on NickLab's guess list. I only say this because of all the Death Star-relevant figures lined up for release this summer.

I don’t think any of the new media is anywhere near the capability to support a HasLab in toss moment. Mandalorian, season three and Asoka have both been lackluster and original trilogy and even the prequel I think are the only sure bets at the moment.

@GNT, can you please commit now to changing the name of the thread once we know what the item is going to be?

You've been reluctant to change thread titles in the past.

Here's a list of things it will most assuredly NOT be:

Death Star
Imperial Shuttle
Bad Batch Marauder
U-Wing
Sandcrawler

I'm honestly not surprised that Hasbro is pushing for another TVC Haslab so soon - when funded, these are guaranteed money makers, with virtually no risk, unlike putting a large release on retail shelves, that might go on clearance. I'm just wondering what financial constraints this will put on collectors? Likewise, I wonder if these big projects are extremely time consuming for the team, which means less attention to figures, and other product offerings in TVC.

Okay, some clues we’ve gotten over the past couple months on what it could be. Most of them per Jayson:

1. It’s most likely going to be a vehicle/playset from Nicklab’s pretty infamous list at this point. Fresh reminder on those:
Naboo Royal Starship
LAAT c/Republic Gunship
Twilight
Turbo Tank
Marauder
Lando’s Falcon
Inquisitor Shuttle (Kenobi)
Luthen’s ship
U-Wing
Mos Eisley Cantina
Rebel Transport
Imperial Shuttle
Gauntlet
BOBF Rancor
T-6 Shuttle
First Order Troop Carrier

2. There are some figures (seemingly multiple) on the March Madness 2024 list that would interact with the Haslab. This would rule out several vehicles on the aforementioned list.

3. It’s most likely not the Marauder. On Facebook, someone made a comment about getting the Marauder with the rest of the team as the next Haslab and Jayson said it wasn’t.

4. A new TVC Haslab will probably stick with what has worked in the past. It will most likely be a direct translation of the source vs an interpretation.

5. The Hasbro team seems reluctant to go back and update previously released items. During last Comic-Con someone asked about getting a new Imperial Shuttle and the response was it was already out there and they rather focus on “fun things” like The Ghost. However, the Imperial Shuttle has been under consideration before.

6. Steve Evan’s mentioned he couldn’t wait to share what’s on the horizon for the next “dream Haslab.” That could be interpreted in a couple ways, but seems to indicate it’s something fans have really wanted. Could also be a general reference to how the Hasbro team calls TVC Haslabs dream items.

It's not going to be the Death Star. It just isn't. There's no way to do it to make everyone happy.

Ask 100 different collectors should be in a Death Star Haslab and you get 100 different answers.

Some say it should be a series of scenes. But which ones? Too hard to pin down. Some said it should stack like a tower. A few people even said (on this website) it should be a gigantic globe the size of a table that you, I dunno, hang like a chandelier. Because that's totally practical!

There's no easy way to do it and there's no way to do it that everyone would agree on. With a ship, it's easy to make a ship look like the thing it's supposed to be. Even a cantina playset is (relatively) easy to do. You'll know it when you see it and it'll look like the thing from the movies.

The Death Star would be.....a series of disconnected rooms that you have to find some way to tie together in a way that is 1) logical, 2) aesthetically pleasing and 3) practical for display purposes.

There's no way to do it. It's not happening.

It's gotta be OT. That's for sure.
Last (and only) OT Haslab was Jabba's Barge, more than five years ago.
And so far the only one I would have bought. If only Ghost had been the debut Haslab before they worked out the international situation - I had absolutely zero interest in that.

But anyway, the Jabba's Palace Throne Room was a compensation. And I would most certainly buy a Cantina.

For the OT (if we're talking about world-building), you can only do the Cantina, Death Star (which they'll never do), or Ewok Village. They won't re-do vehicles. Now, they could do figure sets, too, but there isn't much else to choose from in OT.

I talked with Jayson here over PM and he confirmed the Death Star is not the next one as well, but it hadn't been ruled out for the future. The Death Star mock up he provided looks awesome, so hopefully it is the next one after this one coming in May.

HasLab is a dedicated team now so the SW team assists but doesn't have to devote as much time to the projects as the earlier HasLabs. This was discussed by Lenny on the GI Joe team in a past stream.

The now infamous Death Star mockup is exactly how I'd want them to approach it. I hope focus group feedback on that was overwhelmingly positive.

ANH's 50th in 2027 is the ideal time to roll that beast out. Either launch in 26 for a 27 delivery, or in 27 for a 28 delivery.

I'm rooting for the Cantina...in which case I'll 100% back immediately on day one. But I also feel like there had to be something to all those Death Star rumors, right? ...in which case I'll be 100% backing immediately on day one. Crap. You know, I'm beginning to realize that I have an actual problem because this month has reached a point (ML's, DC Multiverse, NECA, Jada, HC, Lego, and now another Haslab so soon) where I'm more annoyed by the money I'll be spending than I am excited by all the new toys I want. And that's sincerely getting me to think about dropping some lines because, ultimately, nobody is making me buy this stuff. I simply have too many interests...and now it's becoming a problem. :ROFLMAO:

But if it's not the cantina, my #1 hope, or the Death Star, my #2, I'm hoping for the Sandcrawler.

Seriously, though, the other exciting prospect about the cantina is what this could mean, figure-wise. This could be, probably should be, the Haslab with the most figures included. It would just make sense. But this could be our chance to get those roles that haven't ever been made before or were once thought of as basically impossible.

We chatted about that in the NECA thread and hoping for no more pre-orders arriving this month. I had four items start processing today. Of course!

Our want list is very close. I'm #1 Sandcrawler and #2 Cantina. The latter because I have a lot (but not all) of figures to put in it, and the former because it's iconic Star Wars and JAWAS live there, plus I believe Chris Reiff would slay the design and interior.

What does PM stand for again?
Sorry, I had also asked the in the "next big thing" thread and pinged you and thought maybe you had just overlooked it. Didn't think the fact it could still happen in the future was major insider info, as it had already been ruled out as the next one.

I can guarantee it’s going to be the Cantina.

If I can tell you the Moff Gideon cruiser playset pack-in isn’t going to be the Dark Trooper with 100% certainty, I can tell you the next Haslab is the cantina with 95% certainty. And the Tonikkas are definitely involved too.
Is this trolling? Or something based on facts? Im all about finally getting the Tonikkas.

When Haslabs first started with the Barge, my mind immediately went to "Sandcrawler/Cantina/Jabba's Throne Room" first. We've got one already, which, surprisingly, wasn't even a Haslab. Man, either would be awesome. I even like an Ewok Village or a new Imperial Shuttle, but I don't think that's it. As for Prequels, well, this is out of the box thinking here, but could it be a TPM 25th themed Haslab? I doubt it. But if so, what would that even be? A NEW Royal Starship? I really don't think they'd go there.

So... much.... wing... on the T-6. It would have to be displayed just like that pic, which would make accessing any kind of central interior tricky unless you went horizontal with the wings. And you'd need a lot of clearance to do that.

But it is Ahsoka's ship, and that carries weight.

I think I’ve settled on these three possibilities based on the clues we’ve gotten:

U-Wing
Pros:
-Would pair well with the RO characters in the March Madness bracket
-Would help explain why we got the Cassian repack
-We have most of the RO crew in TVC already
-Could be cheaper than The Ghost

Cons:
-We technically got it already (but with a silly nerf feature and under scaled)
-If it was going to happen, it feels like it would be better to delay and release around the time Andor season 2 comes out.
-Not sure if it is a dream item

T-6 Shuttle
Pros:
-Kind of pairs well with some of the March Madness characters
-Might be cheaper than the Ghost
-Has a relatively new media tie-in
-We have a good amount of figures that go with it from the Ahsoka show

Cons
-Doesn’t quite feel like a dream item, either
-Might be overkill to get two Ahsoka Haslabs back-to-back. Although the Ghost felt more like a Rebels thing

Mos Eisley Cantina
Pros
-Definitely a dream item and very iconic
-Has many characters from the March Madness bracket that would pair well with it
-Doesn’t really need a tv show or movie tie-in (It’s the Cantina, duh)
-Would probably satisfy the OT purists

Cons
-Could be more expensive than the Ghost
-Hasbro has (so far) stuck with vehicles + figures. Not sure if they’re willing to break that formula
-While it has plenty of older figures to interact with it, we haven’t gotten too many in TVC 2.0. That could change, though.
-The direct interpretation part is kind of confusing in regards to the Cantina. If it goes against the Death Star, it may also apply to the Cantina.
