Momaw Nadon - #ANH07

I don't understand all the negativity regarding Deluxe pricing...did anyone see the cups? Not cup, but cupS(!!)...as in 3...cups...😶.

But am I getting him and paying the Deluxe Cup Fee...yep.
Am I throwing away all 3 cups...yep.
I think the figure comes with a pice of the cantina as well. I want to say the table he sat at. Never mind, he doesn’t.

One Ithorian, three cups!

And:
One Twi'lek three cups!

You’re right - I was actually confusing him with Bib Fortuna!

It was the Saga Momaw came with a staff, and I always liked it. I wish we could’ve gotten it at this scale.
I would have expected that staff too. IIRC the Sideshow Hammerhead did also have it so I thought this would be some kind of canonized character acc. now

Great news. Huge fan of the ANH cantina aliens, and Hammerhead/Momaw Nadon is one of the most iconic/classic. This will look amazing in the 6" scale.

I hope they also re-release the 6" Greedo in the Archive 6" line at some point. Never got this, and don't want to pay expensive after-market prices.

Would also like to see an 6" ANH Snaggletooth as well.

You would think since Bib Fortuna also got a cup we would eventually receive a table, at least.
Or the option to buy a Cantina, build-a-cantina, or employ our figures at a Cantina.
(There are amazing 3rd party sets, just more than I want to invest unless I give up other hobbies).

Yeah I don't normally wait for a price drop (very risky strategy here in Canada, and usually not a big saving anyway), but I can't imagine a $50 (Canadian) alien with 2 seconds of screentime is going to sell out, so I'll probably chance my arm on this one. Worst case, I do have Doc already.

love how this guy turned out! But will be waiting for clearance or lower price, thats the new norm for TVC and BS Star Wars items. I can imagine finding this on amazon for a daily deal 2 years from now lol

Question from a TVC collector:
There's a number "07" below the character's name on the packaging. What does that indicate? Is Momaw Nadon #7 in a series of Cantina Patrons? The 7th release in a series of somehow related "Deluxe" figures? The 7th new Black Series figure of 2024? Something else? What does it mean?

07 in the "A New Hope" range. Obviously theres been way more than that but they reset the numbers when they went to the "Galaxy" packaging (ie the boxes with a mural on the side) after the red boxes.

So for figures from the Mandalorian they're up to like 92432 or something.

Imagine if this were only actually the seventh character from 1977 Star Wars we’ve gotten so far in 11 years of the Black Series. Galaxy-brained Hasbro has delivered to us Ponda Baba, Dr. Evazan, Ceremony Leia, Figrin D’an, Nalan Cheel, Vader and Momaw Nadon. It’s like a monkey were picking characters to sculpt.

I stopped collecting two years ago and am trying to sell off most of my collection, but I still might have to buy this. lolz

I've been waiting for a BS6 six inch scale version of this figure for years!!

Looks incredible but i am not seeing what makes this release, a "deluxe."

Are they trying to tell us that this figure uses more plastic than a regular release?
If that is the case, then shouldn't Yoda or Ewoks come at a reduced price?

To me, what would make this a deluxe set would be if it included a stool, a section of the bar or a table, a section of the Cantina floor (which doubles as a stand) two blasters (an E-11 and a unique pistol) a staff and I'd include four cups; two for each of his mouths. He's a thirsty boy.

Instead of an overall numbering scheme like Phases I~III, Phase IV (also Phase V) has sub-lines with side art murals for each property (i.e. A New Hope, The Clone Wars, The Mandalorian, etc.). Momaw Nadon is #07 in the "A New Hope" sub-line. It's indicative of where the side art fits in the overall mural of the property for figures in Phase IV (i.e. mural) packaging. Here are the first five in the ANH sub-line via Galactic Figures. #06 is A-List Vader.

Like many others, I'll be waiting for a more reasonable price. I'd hate to miss out on it, but I'm prepared to do so if it comes down to it--there is simply no way I can justify that price tag.

I complain about price everywhere but I’m really not complaining here. I hope he does go down for all of you who wait. I wait on most of them now, too. But this guy has been at the top of my list forever. I didn’t blink at Dok, either. I’m hoping they do a “Kenner” Black series version to go with Greedo, especially since blue shirt Hammerhead shows up in the toons.

The picture on the side of the box shows how bad the Ponda baba figure really is.

The cups here are so perplexing. Why? I just….

Anyway I’m going to hope this means they have plans to follow up with the second part to the Cantina Showdown 3 pack, which oddly only came with half a bar.

The second connecting part of the bar, Wuher, and two aliens like Kabe/Muftak would be perfect.

Guessing they were already sculpted (Bib Fortuna or the POTF-themed 3-pack) and easy little trinkets to throw in to try to justify the deluxe pricing.

Hasbro should be smart and offer the bar sections on Pulse. $5 for a 5" length bar. Maybe $5 for 1/2 a curve. All of course can connect to each other. Let fans build their own bar. They have the tooling already so it is just making them. Doesn't even have to be in a fancy box.

Would take some new tooling but make the little drink dispenser thing behind the bar. How about a little base with holes in the top that various pipe parts can plug into (and others plug into that). Throw in a IG-88 head that can also plug into the base. While they can give instructions on the 'official' build, fans could customize it any way they want. Basic or a super complicated pipe cluster.

Call it a "Barmy-builder-pack"
I like this idea - unfortunately Hasbro seem reluctant to give us anything resembling accessory packs and the likes.

Edit: and frankly, 3rd party suppliers do a better job. Way more comprehensive in their offerings too and often more accurate as well.

Now as you mentioned it, wasn't there some talk sometime ago, either at a Pulse Stream or at a Convention Panel, about possible accessory packs... I think to remember something like this, as I was instantly hoping for some force-/blaster effects 🤔🤔

I fully believe that the possibility of it happening has increased significantly now that Steve is back on the team.
But we will have to wait and see. If anyone can persuade them, it's him, IMO.

Honestly I doubt it’s Hasbro. They know we want these things. Licensor approval is a big, big blockade in terms of getting these nonstandard products out. There’s been team members who’ve talked about Lucasfilm denying a ROTS Anakin update, which is easily one of the most request figures in the line. Imagine what’s been pitched that we haven’t seen.
