Helmet is NOT removable

Who’s picking up this figure?

So the helmet is not removable?

Well it's removeable, there's just no head under it 😂

Hasbro told us to use the old headsculpt if we want him helmetless, despite the fact the old figure is from season 1 where he had a moustache and he didn't have one in season 3. So it would be completely inaccurate. They are actually insulting TVC collectors at this point .

That is a bit dramatic...there were awesome reveals yesterday and it's "insulting" that there isn't a removable headsculpt? The armor and helmet were the defining aspects of this version of the character.

Do we get removable helmets for every Vader figure?

Sign me up for a couple of these, it looks great.

was planning on 2 if there was an alt helnet/head pair but alas $ saved...oh wait, crosshair has alt heads so $ re-allocated to that 2nd one, lol

I mean it's insulting that they sell us incomplete figures, yes. Because they want to double dip on removable helmet version in the future. Same as Morgan without the spear. Or without the sword. We know one or both of those versions will come again eventually. There are a lot of other examples of them doing this.

I almost feel like they deliberately gave deluxe Sabine a naff helmet, knowing that they'd "fix" it in the future so we'd double dip. It's kind of disingenuous. Nobody can be that inept by accident. It has to be deliberate.

Did they announce Morgan WITH a spear and sword? Also does anyone really give a **** about that?

Did I say they did? I said they are likely to at some point. Hence why they didn't include the accessories in the first figure, so they can resell it to people later.

Just like not including cloaks with Baylan and Shin. Those will come with the inevitable repack that they want to resell sometime down the line.

Plenty of people complained about lack of cloaks, but lack of a head is far more egregious lol. You can't recreate this scene without a headsculpt for Gideon:

Just seems like lots of assumptions based on...conspiracy theory I guess? Some characters/figures make sense for multiple releases with different accessories. The three you are using are terrible examples. Sword or not now how many more Morgan Elsbeth figures do you think they would have sold or will sell again? We aren't talking Luke Skywalker here. Same with those other 2. Are you passing on them to wait for the "inevitable" repack?

Regardless I wouldn't call the lack of a separate headsculpt here egregious. But hey - you want to wait for the revised repack...go for it.

Repacks based on minor retools is a conspiracy theory? No, it's a fact.

Just look at Cobb Vanth and his recently announced minor retool. Or the Tatooine Luke and his recently announced minor retool. Or Bo-Katan and her recently released minor retool.

Regardless I wouldn't call the lack of a separate headsculpt here egregious.

If they released Sabine without a headsculpt, would you have been ok with that? Or Fennec Shand? How about Cobb Vanth?

^ well, this is hasbro and if they're only 1 thing, it's inconsistancy..this repack gets an "A#" card, this repack in same wave doesn't--this fig gets removable helet, this fig doesn't. This repack gets a new logo and tvc#, but this repack gets only a new photo. There's many more examples but honestly, i'm in no mood to list them all

An unhelmeted head would've bumped this to deluxe, so I can forgive them not having it.
Wouldnt need to though, plenty of regular figs with swappable helmets etc, I'm more miffed about not getting the collapsed spear

Sure

It’s a cool figure, but the lack of his alt head is annoying. I might just wait until there’s a future release that comes with one (although watch it not come with the helmet).

I could imagine Hasbro saying, “Look! We gave him his cape/cloak! What more do you want?!”

I don’t consider the lack of an unhelmeted head insulting, but it’s definitely. . . disappointing.

I got tired of waiting for Hasbro to announce a cloaked Ahsoka the White and a Talzin Witchy Morgan. So, I’m moving forward getting parts to make those versions myself.

Same thing with cloakless Baylan and Kallus missing the rifle version of his bo-rifle.

But in Ventress’ and Armored Gideon’s case, the missing accessory pushes it from a buy to a skip for me.

Lack of an alt head for Gideon doesn't bother me personally but I know it does for some. I look at it this way - if the accessory/piece exists in the line already elsewhere, I'm covered. I know that is from the perspective of a long time collector of TVC, but most of those that are still in the game here are also long time collectors.

I know that not everyone buys multiples of figures on sale, but if you were able to obtain Gideon for $4 you already have a head swap option. Though not entirely accurate with a mustache, but it's better than nothin.

I think this is where we are now with price and costs, some extras that are seen as a given or essential have to be cut in order to cost out. So, it's either the alt head, the staff w/energy or reduced deco. Because in order to get said alt head you have to increase deco for the face. There's got to be a tradeoff somewhere and this is the one chosen. As for making it up elsewhere, where would that be? Who's all in the wave? Looks to be two new, three retools with Cobb, Crosshair and Stormie w/Bazooka. There's not straight repack in this wave to cost out the "new".

Gideon keeps his helmet on most of the time anyway in the last season so an extra newer unmasked Gideon head not being included not that big of a deal.

If this Gideon was actually a clone, then the next time we see him he'll still have the mustache. A bit of a waste of a new headsculpt for one brief appearance.

I would display this figure with the helmeted head anyway, so the lack of an extra head doesn't bother me in the least.

Agreed, this figure is going straight into aa battle scene.

Yes. For armored or assassin figures I really enjoy the helmet over the fact for figures. It's more fun for playing with.

Well, in truth the alternate heads were only introduces as a play feature anyway. And Star Wars has had removable helmets since the 80's
BTW, what figure was the first to feature removable helmet? Stormtrooper Luke or Skiff Lando?

The first time was Kenner's first ROTJ wave with 4 figures featuring removable head gear--Skiff Lando, Boushh Leia, Logray, and Chief Chirpa.

Sadly, as a kid I didn't own all of them. I remember than one friend had Lando, one had Logray and Chirpa while I had Leia.

Yeah that Leia was the 1st I saw on pegs of those particular 4. The 7th I saw and bought of that particular wave. Chirpa I bought w/ Weequay, Luke and ReeYees when I went back to same store and they restocked, maybe a couple weeks later. Lando and Logray were the last 2 of the 17 l bought to have a complete set. I was floored right there in Rose's dept store to see it as Leia in disguise w/ removable helmet. Up 'till then, the cardbacks only said "Boushh" to preserve the suprise on film.

Looks like he’s the only one from that lot, everything else is still $16.99. I don’t typically preorder, but I’m going to now in case everything else goes up.

Tbs chewie also went up a couple bucks, the tvc imp armored commando did, and I think another tbs did too. So it may be algorithm automatically doing it as an indirect tariff-panic price gouging move by other sites. But kinda odd it seems random. Yet target has dropped prices on some epic force/world stuff. Thier power the force single catded vader was $10 then dropped to $8 online, but that was the in store price

No pic of him with the Jetpack?
according to press release and hasbro's released pic above, he does not include a backpack...although 1 pic does show something grey/black behind his cape in one of the amazon pics. A jetpack is included w/ the epic heroes version, i believe, though.

It appears Gideon does come with a jetpack. It's just visible in the press release shots:

It was more visible in the display case at SW Celebration, but someone mistakenly placed it underneath the cape and Emily acknowledged the mistake made by the display team:
