I might be in a position to pick up a SMT Millennium Falcon model. It's pricey, but this is a rare addition to my collection.

My Revell red Resistance A-wing came in on Monday. Apart from the paint job and the pilot being painted this time, its exactly the same. Its got the same sound effects too. I've been watching this on ebay and noticed the price going down over time. I ended up getting it when after shipping it was $32. I can live with that, as when these were released they were bout 20 bucks.

Anyone has any news about new kits from Revell ? I took a look around and there's nothing for Ep9... I would have loved a kit of the Mandalorian ship!

I could have sworn I heard they were being discontinued. I really hope that's not the case. I would have loved a Resistance Y-wing.

While looking around I found they are now the official distributor of Bandai kits in Europe, but I hope they won't stop with their simpler kits too. I found the scale and relative cheapness of their sets perfect to be displayed with my figures. I don't have the space to display Hasbro ships (and I don't have the patience and skills to build Bandai models 😅 )

Revell USA went under back in mid 2018. What was left was bought out by Revell Germany which eventually stared up a new USA branch but the company is still kinda messed up and hasn't really recovered. They probably couldn't afford the SW license with all that going on, especially competing with Bluefin distributing Bandai in the US now.

I've been looking around and it seems they still have the Star Wars license, but apparently this year they are only repacking the TLJ kits they made in 2017, and they are not making anything new. You can find them in Europe in new boxes, that look almost identitical to the TLJ boxes but have only Vader on one corner of the box.

I hope they will start doing new stuff soon, I have no skill or patience to build perfect kits so I loved their cheap and easy kits! But since they are now official distributor of Bandai kits for Europe, I think that's where they will go with SW now. Making new SW Revell Kits would create internal competion with the Bandai kits they now also sell to retailers.

Strangely Revell Germany released a lot of new kits besides this. I've seen a few new cars and planes, last summer they made a nice collection for the 50 years of Apollo 11, and they currently have a complete line of kits for the Da Vinci 500 years celebration.

Are we sure these are pre-painted? That would be a first for their model lines.
Not sure at all but I (perhaps incorrectly) assumed so, seeing as they're showing two liveries and have done some pre-painted 1/144's earlier, apparently. Sure hope so!

DD, are these pre-painted ships pre-built as well ? :D
Hehe, only if your telekinetic mojo is working. ;)
I've just got their Death Star II model and it has a surprising number of microscopic parts, but even so, it was quite easy for this padawan to bodge together. I'd bet Master UnR built his in 10% of the time I took and it turned out ten times as nice, too. :)

I'd love to see some Bandai comparison photos, next to Titaniums or HWs, as I've considered buying some, but have yet to do so. DD posted a few shots of the Death Star on the previous page - very tempting piece.

The Executor is 18.9 cm, so a bit longer than Titanium, but it's a beautiful kit.

What ships do you want comparisons of?

I'd love to see the ISD, SSD, and the Tantive, as those are the ones I'm thinking about buying. ;) Comparison shots of any would, I'm sure, be welcome though - one of the fun aspects of these threads.

I didn't have the exact titaniums on hand to compare, but I did have an Imperial Landing Craft, which is a pretty standard Titanium size. The Bandai Blockade Runner I'm painting in an Ahsoka-inspired theme. The SSD is the largest and probably easiest to assemble. The Blockade Runner has some of the best detail, but is a little complicated to assemble if you've never done models. The ISD is probably closest to Titanium sizes.

The 2 walkers they make 1/144 AT-ST (Hoth version) and 1/545 AT-M6 are perfectly sized for Titaniums. I have all the sizes of ones I have listed here: http://www.rebelscale.com/scale-lists/star-wars-model-kits/

Anyone know what the cheapest way to get the Bandai kits (that aren't the Revell Rebox versions) in the UK? Would like ones like the Blockade Runner and Super Star Destroyer, but the prices are just absurd compared to what they cost in the US even. E.g. I've seen the super Star destroyer listed at $12, or the cheapest here I've found is like £25.

Similar situation with the smaller box-scale vehicle double pack stuff. Around $6 in the US...but a lot of them don't seem to be sold by UK sellers even. Looking at Amazon some are available shipped from Japan, and they're around £7 so its not too bad for a few unless I've missed something with customs/VAT and all that? They say free shipping, which is a surprise if its from Japan.
