Interesting Curto has Mirith Sinn as confirmed here for release in the Vintage line yet I haven't heard anything about her being released lately so I suppose this is a win for EU fans.

Thoughts on seeing a Mirith Sinn figure?

I thought she was in a Crimson Empire CP that Hasbro (fairly recently) mentioned as being in the works, but canceled due to the line being canceled.

If SHE can get 'confirmed'... what about the Noghri? Army-builder, species that factored heavily into Bantam-era EU (and ever-dwindling in Del Rey's EU)... one of the first new species we were introduced to in the big EU kick-off started by Heir to the Empire.

Interesting…not a needed character, however at least it’s a female – we need more chick figures in this line.

I can't wait for this one. I thought Hasbro would never do this one, but those comic packs really broke some interesting EU ground. I'll probably pick up as many as I can find.

I think the Noghri never made it to the production stage, or at least that's what Hasbro claimed. Hpwever, we did have a tiny picture of it and it looked like a finished figure to me.

They said it was sculpted but never tooled. They also noted that the sculpting itself is the cheap part, whilst the tooling is the expensive part; thus they lost next to nothing by cancelling the figure.

So, you're saying what we saw was a painted sculpt, then?

Anyway, for this thread, glad to see another female figure on the way.

Essentially the sculpt on the digital-design cardback we saw is the same as Aalya Secura was at CV; it’s a sculpt with all the joints, but they just haven’t had casts taken and made into ‘tools’ which the plastic is cast into. Essentially all of the ‘press photos’ are the sculpts which the sculptor has created, thus leading to the often difference in the sculpt compared to the mass-production piece.

I see. So, I guess even though it seems that the Noghri was slated to come before Mirith Sinn, Mirith has actually been tooled.

Was Mirith supposed to come with Nom Anor? If so, she was kept a secret for a long time then because I think we've known Nom has been coming for a while.

Perhaps. Or perhaps they simply believe she is better suited to a basic card release than the Noghri and thought tooling the figure would be justified. Or alternatively, as you said, they had the character tooled before the Comic Pack line was cancelled.

who?

I'd have to go look her up on Wookiepedia. I'm an EU supporter generally but I don't have a clue who this character is.

This sounds like a Cantina patron. Or maybe a Jabba's Palace hang-around'er. Or is this an EU character? If so, from where(novel/comic, also timeframe he lived in etc), exactly?

I've never heard of this character either - she may have been confirmed at one point when the comic pack line was still around, but I doubt we'll see a nobody like this in the vintage line. These rumors of 'confirmed' figures should be re-checked for updates from Hasbro because I doubt they are still in the works...

Seriously not needed, many other characters would be better candidates. When it pegwarms, we're gonna hear the old EU doesn't sell line. What a waste...

I don't think this figure is confirmed for the vintage line. She's just confirmed to have been in development and maybe will come out somewhere eventually.

Again - no disrespect to EU guys - but I have been collecting a couple of years and have no idea what this character is. I also have better things to do than pick up an old book to get to know it.

Hasbro - you want to go EU - go Clone Wars

Who?? Ok, just looked her up on the wookieepedia, and it looks like Mara Jade. Meh, nothing too exciting, for me. Give me a Ben Quadinaros, Bea Arthur from the Holiday Special, or some updated DROIDS cartoon figures first.

Lol! Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. One of her outfits looks just like one of Mara's. They're probably BFFs and and like totally share their clothes and stuff.

She's a Mara Jade wannabe from the Crimson Empire comics.

She's an annoying member of the Rebel Alliance/New Republic military from the terrible Crimson Empire comic series. Bad story, worse art, the only thing cool about it was the back story on the Emperor's Royal Guards. But not cool enough to save that steaming pile of poodoo. So yeah, big waste of a figure slot IMO, if it happens.

Ah, I see. Thank you for an actual answer.
Is she worthy of a figure at this time, in this line?

Not particularly, compared to dozens of other EU character choices they COULD have gone with (like the Noghri). Hasbro, for some reason, has a real love for Crimson Empire above all other EU Comic sources, so since she was already tooled up (probably from the Nom Anor comic pack that got scrapped), she gets a release.

I gotta agree with RumSleg, tho my opinion's mostly based on flipping thru the art and reading a bit about the story from Wookieepedia. I liked one of the artists on some DC comic project, but really didn't care for the CE or CE2 art, or the storyline really.

Hopefully if we end up getting a new Emperor's Royal Guard we'll also get a new Kir Kanos to go with her.

I have been a Star Wars fan since 1982 and I have no idea who this is.

First thought was a cantina alien but I looked it up and she is just a plain looking chick. How the hell did Hasbro decide she would be a good figure to make.

Totally agree. I actually thought I read Miyoom Onith or something like that when I first glanced at the name.

Because they were making a Crimson Empire comic pack, when the line got canceled. Presumably, she was in the pack with Nom Anor. Hasbro informed us long ago that Nom Anor would wind up as a basic figure, so if they had the tooling done on him, they probably had it done on his pack-mate... which is how Mirith Sinn gets released. They already invested in the tooling, may as well release it.

I finally went back to Wookieepedia to see more about her... she really could be a Mara clone, far as Hasbro's concerned. I looked up the artist on Crimson Empire again and realized I DIDN'T like his DC stuff... he was just heavily hyped for Catwoman at some point after Darwyn Cooke & Cameron Stewart--artists I DID like a lot--left the book. Can't believe I forgot that

Just to add to the "huh?" comments, it's been a very long time since a figure was announced/proposed outside of fan voting that I had no clue whatsoever about - but that's the case here. A quick Google search gave me no reason to find the character interesting or worth buying in toy form.

No offense taken here, I'm a big fan of EU but even I didn't know who she was.
Personally I wouldn't want her made but if she is I may buy her depending on how the figure looks.
Based on one image at Wiki it appears she could be an easy repaint of Deliah Blue.

Meh I'm not a huge fan of the character but I'll buy one to support the EU figures.

so hasbro thinks Mirith Sinn would sell better then Jocasta Nu?????

Ahhhhh - Mirith Sinn...

Today, I have discovered there is an action figure being made of an obscure character I've never heard of.
Not just obscure option, but an underwhelming character to boot.

Oh well - you learn a new thing every day, I guess...

I think this was originally slated to appear in a Comic Pack, but since that line has ended, it's survivor's are being relegated to the main line.

We're getting this EU chick on a vintage card, but no Grand Moff Tarkin?

Grand Moff Tarkin is rumoured last time I looked, it would be fantastic to see him made in next couple years (and packaged on a ANH vintage card)
