Also, does anybody know if there are 3 versions of the T-16 Skyhopper?

I only recently found out about the smaller version from the Slave 1 playset. And managed to order one from France; but during my research I came across a curious smaller version with really long wings?

Below picture number 1 has the regular T-16 on the right hand side

Picture number 2 has the smaller T-16 that has a bigger cockpit window painted on, and gun tips to the wings, and a gun mounded at the front of the white base as well as other minor differences.

In picture number 1 there is an intriguing smaller ship that has double the wing length of the other small T-16 and seems to be a different mould altogether, anyone have any details?

Looks like the model that came with a Luke figure, with the stand removed:

Good catch !

Speaking of Hasbro figures, there's a variant of the MicroMachines X-Wing fighter with "Red One" markings that came with the Jorg Sacul 3.75" action figure.

That's the first time I hear about that possible variation, but a quick search on ebay shows some auctions with a Han figure that is indeed brown. Apparently, the boxes with figures on the orange background have the brown figure, while the ones with blue background and grid on top (thus earlier version) have the black/dark blue one.

It's a nice little nod to the never ending blue/brown debate !
Yes I only noticed it the other day when I was sorting out the doubles from my Dad's collection so I can sell them for him. :) I wonder what others there might be, has me really looking closely at everything now lol

Aaah awesome I have that one, so my OCD can rest on that one at least xD haha I wasn't really bothered about variants before, but then when I randomly got a load of them in some lots, I started trying to get them.

Noooooooooo!!!!! xD bladdy Hasbro (shakes fist at sky) I had a look on ebay and they go for quite a bit, although saw that a couple went for not much. So will have to keep my eyes open.

Other variants include:
- the Millennium Falcon, with blue or white engines
- Tantive IV, Jabba's Sail Barge, Vader's TIE Fighter, Twin-Pod Cloud Car, X-Wing from the playsets, which can have different paint jobs or be slightly different molds than the ones from the vehicle 3-packs.
- Star Destroyer with blue or white engines (variant in the Epic Collection).

The variants weren't limited to Star Wars either, I've been sifting through my Star Trek lot purchase, and I'm noticing deco variants on a number of those. I think there were some changes based on whether the ship was in a 3-pack or the large collector multipacks. This tends to happen if the production runs were at different times, or even varying locations. I'm not sure if Galoob had multiple factories, but I know Hasbro does. I believe there was actually a site that covered the variants - is it still around?

Thank you, I have those :-D and thank you for all the info, it's much appreciated!! At some point I will double check my ships, as I think there might be a few others.

I can imagine, and maybe it was just supreme trolling by Galoob haha. I'd be interested in checking that site out if anyone has the link?

There's MicroMachines Museum, but not all the variants are on. I've started compiling a spreadsheet for Star Wars MM, referencing packaging variants, but I still need to work on it as I haven't detailed the playsets/transforming environments yet. If you're interested send me a PM with your email address and I'll forward the document.

Came across this playset at Target the other day. Pretty neat. I had no idea it was coming out.

I saw these listings on Amazon for some other playsets. Are they old? Can't say I ever saw them in stores.
https://www.amazon.com/Micro-Machin...cphy=9052206&hvtargid=pla-1210211531500&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FVGGDPZ/ref=wl_mb_wl_huc_mrai_1_dp

Edit: found the listing for a new Super Van City. Looks similar to the old one, but in a new color palette.

Edit again: Previously I eluded to some other images that could have been Micromachines sets. I've since seen that they are not. Just some wrong images on the Google image search.

Wot an outrage, Boris, they eluded our probes! So to speak. ;)

Did some digging and found that the wee Starspeeder is from a set of Hasbro blind bag toys called Collector Packs, which were sold at Star Tours, with ~18 waves of stuff released. There's also a squished mini (~1.5") Choro-Q starspeeder from Tomy that was sold at Tokyo Disneyland.

Anyhoo, there are some oddities like the Naboo Water Speeder and Vader's hoverplatform in there, interesting choices for ersatz Micro Machines (or AF mini-figs), ain't they. ;) :)

Those Disney collector packs are cool little novelty micros, but some are oddly sculpted. I have a handful of the originals, I suppose from wave 1? I must have traded them with someone here or got them on ebay, because I've never been to Disney. Oddly enough, I have 3 of the white Starspeeder - not sure why? lol I must have traded for a lot or something. So I have spares of those to trade, if someone has the red version!

check your local Dollar Tree stores... they have 3 different Micro vehicles packs that work well with Micro Machines and the Battat Driven series. each pack features 4 micro vehicles and road signs for $1.00 each.

Fingers crossed that this is a direction for more licensed micro machines again! 🤞 Well and that it leads to more Star Wars of course lol

i hope so too... only this time I hope that they use a sturdier plastic for the Ships as the cheap plastic Hasbro used was horrible. I don't think i have a single X-Wing or TIE Fighter that has straight cannons or wings.

Yes the X-wings especially are terrible for bending! I'd admitedly still take the cheap plastic though 😂 My main request would be for new stuff and not another roll out of the same old same old i.e. X-wing, Tie, Slave 1 or Boba's ship, Imperial shuttle, sandcrawler etc Altaya seem to be doing that right now and it's so boring

absolutely 100% agree. I'd love for them to pick up where they left off and make ships from The Last Jedi, Rise of Skywalker, Mandalorian, Clone Wars, Book of Boba Fett, Revenge of the Sith, Attack of the Clones and the Expanded Universe/Legends. I mean they are going to re-release TIE's, X-Wings etc but they definitely need to make new vehicles as well as playsets and figure packs. I'd love to see a roll out similar to how it was back when Galoob had the Micro Machines license.

Agree with this so much!! And yes they'd release the standard things, but rather than going overboard on them; they could give us red republic cruiser, blue, cream with red accents. Likewise for most republic ships. So many cool designs/colours that could be done with the same mold.

Same for Tie fighters in fact, Sabine's tie, red tie, yellow for the mining clan (We can use snips to take out the chunks ourselves lol)

Oh on the topic of book of Boba, imagine the hutt twins as a micro!! Take my moneeey!! haha

The Jet Setters set is a nice one. I'm still looking for the Bugatti World set as well as any other releases that I've missed from Series 2 - 6 . Distribution has been spotty at best here in NJ. most of the 3 packs I was able to get at 5 Below or Cracker Barrel Restaurants.

Looks like we have new Star Wars micro machines coming for Star Wars per this JediNews.co.uk article from UK Toy Fair 2022.

Click through for the full article and some teasey pictures. The guts of it also pasted below...

Jazwares celebrate their 25th anniversary with the launch of the first authentically scaled vehicle line in Star Wars history, Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron. This new line is broken down into various vehicle sizes: –

  • Assault Class — Millennium Falcon and similar sized vehicles
  • Starship Class — larger vehicles including Boba Fett’s Starfighter (Firespray) and the Razor Crest
  • Transport Class — including the Troop Transport
  • Starfighter Class — X-wing, Jedi Starfighter, TIE Bomber etc
  • Light Armor Class — TIE Fighter, AT-ST and other similar modes of transport
  • Scout Class — Speeder Bikes and other single person small transport vehicles

We do not know if this new line is plastic or metal, how much its will cost, or when it will be available, but will share more as soon as we can. We expect the line to launch later this year.

Potential successor to the old Micromachines range? I hope so!

Much to uncover about this line there is but wow, this could be very cool for Titanium and AF scale collectors too. Cheers for the heads up, Rev!

Hhmmm............

Pros:. A scaled to each other line gives us the long desired uniformity (great for displaying). Also it seems like this line will make an attempt early on to include never/rarely made ships alongside the favourites, though not too much by the looks of it. It looks like there will be some action features on the bigger ships (folding wings, removable top on Falcon).

Cons:. A scaled to each other line means capital ships are too big to work in the line, so once again they are a glaring omission. The scale, from what I can tell in the pictures seems to have sacrificed on both ends. Large ships are out because of size, and small ships (speeder bikes, etc) are going to be tiny. Personally I am also disappointed by another line with a heavy "favourites" flavour. However I understand why it happens, so not really a con.

Unknowns (for now):

Price, availability and build (material & quality). Hopefully we hear something soon.

Anyway, another retail line is still a good thing in my eyes, even if there is a lot of rehashing of ships I already have in multiples.

I'll be doing what I usually do an pick and choose according to my individual collection needs, but I think the idea of scaling is really interesting. It's just a shame that it means capital ships get the shaft again.
That's exactly what I had in my mind, I've already been scaling things from different lines, so this could definitely add some nice pieces into the mix!!

😮 oh wow they come with mini figures!!!

If you click on the 2nd image in the middle row and zoom in, it has Moff Gideon standing under his collapseable wing Tie fighter!!

Also can just about spot baby Yoda's cradle in front of the Razor Crest

So I'm guessing this is likely plastic and of a similar scale to action fleet if the figures are going to sit in the vehicles!

X-wing doesn't appear to be the same mold as action fleet, and the wings seem to be fixed, unless the photo just hasn't picked up the hinges.
