It appears will be seeing a Mace Windu figure in the 2nd wave of 2013

This came out of left field, I was expecting Cad Bane. I guess this means Plo Koon, Kit Fisto or even Nahdar Vebb has a chance.

This feels like having Mace in an AOTC year. It doesn't feel necessary or needed.

I wouldn't say Mace is out of left field...
But there would have been other choices I thought they would done first. Bane anyone?

As long as they reuse the Vintage head, I'm game. Maybe the lightsaber will say bad mither f***er on it this time B)

Id much rather had Mace from the ewok movies for the 800th time. This is a wasted space.

Hope they bring back Lollipop Mace with the bendy arms.

Ha ha.

Seriously, though, Sideshow or someone will remake Lollipop Mace in 2030 and we'll all buy him for the nostalgic kick.

I would not mind a CW Mace with the pieces of armor he wears/wore in the show

Can't see this being TCW Mace, and any other is another big ??? for this exciting new collection! Not much difference in Mace from AOTC and ROTS, and BJ hips are only thing I can see too to update the AOTC. The other VC version sold well, and with Ep II movie coming out, they probably just want him back in stores. Where's Count Dooku? Haven't seen him in awhile. That would be a good figure to revisit, even if we've missed him for VC cardbacks.

Wait...are people seriously saying this is not TCW Realistic mace? Hasbro said it even was in the slideshow...

He'll obviously have clone armor and all that jazz.

Ok so we're looking at this mace, right?

I'd love to see this one instead:

Yeah, its the one from the current TV show, Hasbro said in one of the interviews they are not doing anymore from the '03 series, unless they win a poll or something.

Im pretty happy with the last Mace Windu release so this one will have to offer something new and interesting to pick him up again. If it's the clone wars version then I expect it to be the last mace windy with new gauntlets and attachments sculpted on.

I'm leaning towards this figure being close to or a straight repack of the TVC one from AOTC.

That would be totally unnecessary at this point, and a definite candidate for a pegwarmer! I was totally fine with the TAC Mace Windu. All of the Mace releases since have been wasted slots.

If this is a realistic Clone Wars Mace, then I'd probably be in for at least one. But if it's an AOTC Mace, then it's a definite pass.

I just don't see what else they could add to this figure to make him different enough from the recent AOTC figure. If they claim they're going to add armor, all he's going to get is forearm clone armor 9since that's all he wears in TCW). If that's the case, this figure will be an even more major waste than it already is in taking up slots in this new line.

I thought he wore some of that upper chest armor in the first season (like the realistic CW Kenobi)

Did he? I can't remember back that far and haven't watched S1 in awhile...going to be doing some research...dum, dee, dum...

Well, not only does the newer clone wars windy have gauntlets, but he also has some weird looking boots.
I'm not sure if the difference is big enough to warrant a resculpt but it's definitely different.
For the lazy, here is a side by side comparison.

I kinda wish they'd release a movie version with ball-hinged wrists and hips before moving on to releasing a TCW version.

However, ideally it would be an SA movie version, with a pair of exchangeable, gauntlet-protected forearms.

My thoughts exactly! If it is a repack, it will pegwarm and I'm going to pass. It's gonna take a really good realistic Clone Wars Mace Windu to win me over.

The Vintage mace is the definitive figure, what else could they do with it? But youre probably right, theyre going to put clone armor on him and airbrush a pic for the card.

I think Mace has been done perfectly well enough already. The only other things they can update at this point are BJ hips and a removable hand(for folks that haven't customized one for themselves). Other than that I think this is just yet another great example of Hasbro showing us that basically every figure has already been covered, and all that they can do at this point are rehashes added w/slightly "new" features.

Fortunately for me, I boil&popped the lower halves of both a realistic Mace and a TCW Mace(the ones w/bj hips) and I swapped the lower halves of the bodies. Then simply did yet another b&p with the figures at the knees & swapped those as well. Now I've got a perfectly articulated "realistic" Mace with bj hips(as the clone wars lower torso & thighs are covered by his belt and kama, therefore unnoticeable)! And of course I also gave him the requisite removable slightly bloody/cauterized stump that can go on & off (attached by a small slit of a paper clip) to look either perfectly normal or look as if it's just been Anakin-ized.
I also made another Mace: did the same boil&pop w/the lower half, but this time i made him "realistic" TCW style by doing a b&p with the forarms of a Clone's, and I also have the upper torso piece that came with the TCW figure(originally in the Target exclusive BP), that i can take on & off depending on diorama scene(cause he didn't always wear it in every episode in the show). Thus, I can't imagine Hasbro making any "new" Mace that I could possibly want to drop 10 bucks on....but we'll see I guess.

I'm not a huge fan if the TVC Mace Windu, and only have one, so just about anything they do is fine with me. It's his armsm especially from the back, that I don't like.

When I first heard about this guy coming, I was looking forward to picking him up, but now that I think about it there's not much "newness" they could do. I imagine they will cheap out and use the TVC sculpt and just include now forearms. If they do that I'm passing, its has to be a completely new figure.

You're passing. Pretty sure.

Yeah, it's really unlikely that this will be all new. At the very least we're getting new arms. At best, we'll also get new hips. Other than that, as others have said there's really not much else to improve on the TVC Mace. I'm hoping they don't include the awkward snap-on armor from the animated version. Not only does Mace not wear this anywhere on the show, it just looks terrible.

I don't really mind seeing re-issues of existing Jedi with new forearms, but then I'm a fan of the show and I was one of the people disappointed that TCW would be an animated line, despite Hasbro's assurances that they wouldn't do that. But, I don't want these clogging up the line, either. Spread them out a bit so we can get other figures as well. If we're lucky, qualifying characters that are due for resculpts (Adi Gallia, Eeth Koth Saesee Tiin) will have interchanging forearms.
