We'll be seeing an ANH Luke Skywalker in the upcoming Vintage Collection, most likely the 3 pack version on a vintage card but no further details atm. Please use this thread to discuss this figure.

I really like this figure and I think it's cool that he's coming on a single card. Hopefully the other two in that pack will make it out in the TVC line soon as well.

A definite pickup for me. My focus is pilots anyway but the updated face looks great. I'm curious as to what the cardback will look like. I was thinking they might use the shot of Luke climbing into his X-wing (also used for the title screen for Rogue Squadron on N64) but realized they already used that for The Saga Collection. I doubt they would use that shot again.

^ they may use same pic since the saga run, pre 2010, were not numbered and in 2010 and until recent, they reissued saga used pics for re-do even if movie logo changed. Chewbacca, 2010 Vader, boba, luke bespin, yoda b4 switching to rots card, etc

The Last Jedi caused Brexit and...sorry...wrong thread. Erm, prefer farmboy to XWing pilot. But anything Luke wise is welcome.

TBH, I'm not sure how I'll feel about it by the time it actually get released. But I too would prefer an all new Farmboy sculpt. Whether I'll buy this version is still unknown, as I do have a perfectly fine previous edition.
Heck, what's next, a redo of Snowspeeder Luke? There are, IMO, other figures in need of updating. Rather than figures that were made within the decade.

But I guess it's the only way to get people to buy those old characters again, overdose on SA with unneeded joints. And throw in photo real to seal the deal.

I see. I hope they use it, I've always liked that shot. I always associate that picture with the Rogue Squadron game. I guess its the nostalgia too. If they do use that shot I'll probably grab a second to keep carded.

I just hope the new body means there's more X-Wing pilots in the pipeline.

I imagine we WILL see new pilots, because once Hasbro invests in a new sculpt, they’re gonna use the heck out of it. I like this figure and will buy one.

I’m surprised the Xwing version is coming before the Stormtrooper Luke. Seemed there was rumors for that one first as it’s the one without a vintage card yet. But it’s a good release either way. And would be kinda cool to do a different cardback image from the first Xwing Luke. Hard to pass on a Luke figure no matter what!

Where this is the only figure from the three pack I haven't bought loose, it's a must buy for me. I"ll be sure to get two. Maybe three. Keep one in his trench run X-Wing, one on my Luke X-Wing shelf and one to keep carded. Hopefully the pre orders for it won't be completely crazy, and I'll be able to secure a couple.

The 3 pack hair is much lighter than this one. It could just be the pic, but the single carded one looks like dark brown and the 3 pack is blond. Anybody else seeing this?

The 3 pack is like Luke from E4 and the single is more like Luke from E5?

Put me down for 2 of X-wing Luke. I really like that cardback.

I do like the head sculpt, So I might get a few to swap out on my existing figures. Not that I hate them, but previous X-Wing in particular is dated. Along with Yavin. I'll wait for an all new ANH figure though.

Will likely pick it up. Having to resort to online stores, i'll get a better deal ordering a full wave anyway.

Nice to see this figure on a single card. Really looking forward to buying it. Hopefully we get leaks of the TVC Luke's X-Wing and the TROS vehicle soon too since those are supposed to be out on Triple Force Friday as well.

From a carded collector point of view, would this be a worthy aquisitition if I already own the Saga version?

I finally saw a better picture of the card and maybe I am alone on this one but I hate the 4+ age recommendation on the upper left of the card. Possibly it's a regulation? Either way, I think my question has been answered.

Can't wait to buy a bunch of this figure on TFF! Will likely order a few online, and then try my luck at a couple Walmarts and Targets.

Saw this one, appeared to be the only one peg warming. Almost pulled the trigger on it but couldn't justify it. I've got the last Vintage Luke, same cardback, and the articulation isn't enough of an upgrade beyond what I have, so I'm fine with what I've got.

I picked up two pretty easy. One at Walmart and another at Target.

Got my one single purchase for all of TFF: this Luke! Beautiful figure, just so well done compared to the last VC version.

Seems like everyone has been finding and buying X-Wing Luke today with luck. I bought one X-Wing Luke figure earlier today and either tomorrow or Sunday I just might buy another one to use for customizing purposes.

I wholeheartedly agree. Whatever technology they’re using is great. Here’s to more of the VC updates.

Thank you Hasbro for all you have done. Please listen to the sane among us.

I think the Saga Collection Luke makes a much better carded presentation. Unpunched and no age recommendation crap. Had to pass on this figure.

Got this yesterday. Man what a great figure! I don't get many 3 3/4" these days, mainly due to not being able to find them. Last TVC figure I bought was the Stormtrooper Han, so it's been a while.

Make no mistake, this is the go-to X-Wing pilot figure buck now for Hasbro. He's shockingly not short (as tall or taller than previous pilots) and nothing like a lightsaber clip to identify this as Luke. Beautiful small joints with crazy amounts of articulation; but the joints are not tight. Kinda floppy actually!

Went to a WM for some errands and stopped by the SW section. It was small and cleared out of all the VC stuff. Hit another and found this Luke.

I have the Luke 3 pack but damn this is nice on the card. I think I'll keep this carded and open up the 3 pack.

Man, this brings back memories of going to stores that no longer exist and trying to find all kids of SW figures. Even though I had the Xwing Luke back then, I still looked at this one because of the cool photo.

I miss the days of hitting up Walmart and having an entire section or two devoted to Star Wars figures. For some reason, the green POTF2 packaging stands out the most in my memory.

I dipped back in for my first action figure purchase in over a year, and I'm rather happy with it. The elbow joints and right knee joint were really tight at first though, and it took me a while to find the right way to get them to bend safely without breaking the pegs. Something that always underwhelms my excitement at a new super-articulated figure since it wears down my desire to come up with creative poses. There's always something off with the face on mine, and I don't think it's the sculpt. I haven't seen any other samples yet. I sprang a bit quick since it's just been so long since I've seen anything worth buying in the wild, and I didn't expect a new pilot Luke ever.

Despite those petty nitpicks, I'm still thankful they made the figure and it's probably the best pilot all-new pilot figure I've seen from them. I've never been a fan of the VOTC Luke and it's overly wide legs, though it's certainly an OK figure. I hope to see this buck in use again.

The POTF packaging means to me what the still beautiful Vintage packaging means to the older collectors on here. Iconic and nostalgic. Believe me, if they released figures I didn't want on POTF cardbacks I might just buy them for the cardbacks! Would especially love to see a POTF-style card for AOTC/ROTS/ST characters, since the e1 and POTJ lines fall under a similar packaging style.

My only complaint with this figure is the height. Here's the figure compared with Luke that came with his X-wing in the Death Star Trench set. Well, 2 complaints really - I would have swapped the blaster with a lightsaber hilt that could be hooked onto his belt. Still though, I love this figure.

I popped the head off, it has a little ball that sticks out from under the head. The neck on the figure has a hole in it, and the ball part that sticks out from under the head pops into the neck. I can provide pics if anyone wants.
