I can see this Luke being repacked with binoculars, long rifle, maybe floppy hat, more beige leg paint, and a new card back to include with a Landspeeder.
Regardless of the lighter colored boots used on-film, they were still darker in most scenes on account of dirt/dust/sand that built up on them. A simple bit of tan colored paint weathering on this figure’s boots would have done wonders. Instead, it looks like he just left the Mos Eisley Foot Locker, and is rockin’ some fresh kicks.
Also, if they were going for accuracy, why did they give the TBS version - revealed mere moments before its TVC counterpart - the dark tan boots?
On a positive note, glad to see Emily is doing better and is engaging with the community.
Doesn't look like it. They previously said it would be all-new anyway.also, can anyone tell if the torso is the BoBF Torso in white?
Yeah, I thought that Stormtrooper, Yavin, X-Wing Pilot, and Jedi Luke all had the same head sculpt. Turns out each is slightly different (at least the hair. The X-Wing Luke almost looks like his hairline is already receding). I'm most surprised they went with a brown for his hair instead of the traditional dirty blonde (which even the Jedi Luke has). I'll probably swap this head out for the Yavin Luke one as well. I think Jedi Luke looks slightly better, but it's a harder to find figure. Wish the X-Wing pilot had the best sculpt, because I'll have plenty of those heads after I upgrade all my X-Wing pilots.Imho the ceremony Luke from Walmart is my favorite Luke head. When he went on clearance I scooped up one for just such an occasion. Most Luke sculpts look good from one angle though. black series one is the stuff of nightmares.
Jedi would have the wrong hairstyle but I agree the resemblance is striking. I think the x wing one looks like Charlie Bucket from Wily Wonka. The Stormtrooper one is ok but looks like he is wearing a wig. After all this tome this figure should be perfect, so there is no excuse for that likenesses.Yeah, I thought that Stormtrooper, Yavin, X-Wing Pilot, and Jedi Luke all had the same head sculpt. I grabbed the Saga collection luke a couple months back. Came with the hat, poncho, and Obi Wan treasure chest. I think you can still find that pretty cheap...for nowWould love a heavy load-out Luke Farmboy, w/floppy hat, rifle, binoculars, (droid detection accessory the carded one is coming with) Sabre lit and unlit, aaaaand... a tiny T-16 Sky hopper!

I happen to have extras of both, so I should be set if this head does turn out to be a dud.The TVC X-Wing Luke and Stormtrooper Luke are the best at 3.75" and (appear to be) better than this one. Though the final version will undoubtedly look different than these early images.
Via Instagram, some good shots of an actual production sample. Head sculpt/likeness looks better here, but leg wraps/boots are definitely too light, and not screen accurate in the least. What a bummer.

Probably another case of wall thickness issueThank you for posting this - much better with actual photoreal print applications as opposed to the hand-painted sample from the announcement photos. Also, fine, guess I’ll have to weather the boots myself.
However, this is now a major eyesore for me. I hadn’t noticed it before.

The peg hole definitely should have been higher up on his actual belt, as they've done with past figures. Would have been less noticeable on the brown of the belt. Not sure why it's on his lower tunic, or why there seems to be a raised ring sculpted around the hole.Thank you for posting this - much better with actual photoreal print applications as opposed to the hand-painted sample from the announcement photos. seems like it can hold the comm and the saber hilt, so shouldn't be much of an eyesore on a shelf.Thank you for posting this - much better with actual photoreal print applications as opposed to the hand-painted sample from the announcement photos. You're just giving Hasbro ideas for a future "Deluxe" release. And a price of $27.99Would love a heavy load-out Luke Farmboy, w/floppy hat, rifle, binoculars, (droid detection accessory the carded one is coming with) Sabre lit and unlit, aaaaand... a tiny T-16 Sky hopper!

Definite eye sore. They could have at least painted it silver or something.Thank you for posting this - much better with actual photoreal print applications as opposed to the hand-painted sample from the announcement photos. Also, fine, guess I’ll have to weather the boots myself.

You know it's going to be new media after 300 turned out to be Hera when it should have been Leia. 375 feels like it could be in line with Shin Hati. I mean if it's not Luke I don't know who's "special" enough to warrant it other than the big three. Suppose it could be Bader but there already so many as it is.And if this guy is Vc334/5, who does that leave as Vc375? Would have thought this would be that special something
Or, heck, Darth Revan would have been a better choice for 300 than Hera (no disrespect to the character). You know it's going to be new media after 300 turned out to be Hera when it should have been Leia.

I know I commented about how disappointed I was about Hera getting #300, because Patrick talked it up like it was going to be one of the big three. When they announced it was Hera, It was just sort of "Oh, okay. It's Hera." Really just meh....Or, heck, Darth Revan would have been a better choice for 300 than Hera (no disrespect to the character).
It looks like that circle should’ve been painted silver to at least make it look like a clip or harness.Thank you for posting this - much better with actual photoreal print applications as opposed to the hand-painted sample from the announcement photos. It should be higher where it blends in with the brown of the belt. Or they could have just given him a little belt hook since they're able to make a saber with a belt clip (mission series). It looks like that circle should’ve been painted silver to at least make it look like a clip or harness.
nah, you can get rid of the lightsaber hilt easily enough yourself - or rather your Roomba will.It should be higher where it blends in with the brown of the belt. Or they could have just given him a little belt hook since they're able to make a saber with a belt clip (mission series).
Personally, I'd rather they get rid of the whole lightsaber hilt altogether. It didn't work with the removable blades, and it's just one more thing to get lost.
Looking at the Pulse Con images again, the loose prototype of the figure does have the raised ring around that hole painted brown. Guess that carded sample from the UK event is definitely an early production sample, as Tim stated. The final product will no doubt have that ring painted. It looks like that circle should’ve been painted silver to at least make it look like a clip or harness.
