Hasbro revealed in the Mos Eisley Haslab reveal that an all new Luke Skywalker Tatooine figure is in the pipeline:

Any thoughts on seeing this figure?

Articulation and being able to do a bunch of poses will be essential. Resurgence of the Force Luke is my current Farmboy one, but it needs help staying upright (along with other issues).

It’s Luke, so they better nail the face likeness down correctly.

. . . And it’d be nice if they added the poncho, rifle, floppy hat, a power converter, blast shield down helmet, swappable Stormtrooper belt, Stormtrooper rifle, and moisture vaporator to the figure! 😁

its the bottom skirt piece for the new figure that's the main concern if its going to be a newer more flexible plastic part in order for the legs to be easier to move to have Luke sitting down etc.

Yeah, he HAS to fit in a (new??) Landspeeder.

I'm glad they're opting for a plastic-like skirt for this version (based on the teased image). I hope it's durable, though.

Ahh, the days when we got the vaporator for free!

I'll just be glad to no longer having to hear requests or MM votes for these four!
As an aside it will be nice to get properly proportioned version.

I think I am going to hang on to my hip/leg/modded kitbashed Vc39/Resurgence Luke just in case hasbro's plastic skirt doesn't allow him to sit. I will probably get rid of my Resurgence one that I have in my falcon saber training area.

Probably going to need 3 or 4 of these if they knock it out of the park for all my displays. =/

Very excited to have a brand new OG Luke in the mix. Definitely expecting a DS Escape variant in 2027. . .

It seems like they sculpted some texture on the shirt this time.
Legs and feet look wonderful.

PS= Worried about potential gorilla arms.

^^From the pic above, the hand should land around mid-thigh. So, no gorilla arm look.

I really hope one of the poses they put this figure in is the iconic binary sunset pose.

A newer lower plastic skirt for New Hope Luke needs to be similar to rotj Jedi knight Luke or similar to mandalorian Jedi Luke where it's a combo of plastic and cloth in order for the figure to be poseable and enough room freedom for the legs if you want new Hope Luke to actually sit down.

I wouldn't mind if hasbro made the plastic and soft goods cloth skirt part for New Hope Luke figure to be the same as the mandalorian show Jedi Luke's

When you think about when the last GOOD versions of Luke Skywalker in his farmboy look were released in 2009 & 2011, you have to scratch your head a little bit. But I'm thankful that Hasbro is paying attention to collectors.

Now that Hasbro is finally going there with Luke at long last? I'm trying to think about this the way that Hasbro might. Notably, the probably re-use.

MILLENNIUM FALCON LIGHTSABER TRAINING - include the lightsaber, training remote and the blast shield helmet. Perhaps the trunk from Ben's hut that included those items in that 2006 TSC release. Would this be a possible deluxe release? IDK, but that seems to be murky territory.

SH Figuarts figured out how to do Luke farmboy 5-7 years ago. This figure NEEDS good butterfly joints or it just won't be good enough.

Maybe Hasbro could even apply the soft plastic overlay system to the forearm sleeves, it could work I think.

I think I'm ok with a regular torso. Last time we asked for more articulation we got Dagobah Luke. 😬

I feel shame when I think of having bought that Luke. Ol' Chainsaw Arms Dagobah Luke just makes me feel...................dirty. Like I need to take a shower. Like when I realized Finkel was Einhorn.....

I'm trying to move on now......hoping that Hasbro has learned from that awful mistake.....so maybe one day we can get a really good farmboy Luke.

Even though the execution fell short, I appreciate that Hasbro tried something new with that Dagobah Luke. It was a valuable lesson for Hasbro, but also for those collectors who clamored for even more articulation at this scale. Maybe it wasn't the right choice of figure to try it on, but still they took a chance and I respect that.

That's a fair point, innovation requires some rolling of the dice and it doesn't always work out but moving the ball down the field to better figures was the aim. In the case of that particular figure, having articulation that allowed Luke to reach up and kind of hold the backpack straps was the goal. And at the 1/18 scale, that's a pretty ambitious aim. But, yeah, I'll agree with the idea that at least they made a bold attempt.

Wouldn't this work scaled down to 3.75? Hasbro more or less has this articulation standard now. I don't think it breaks up the aesthetics at all.
I don't think they can achieve something like that in 3.75" yet. Maybe in a few years.
Agreed. I just don't like the aesthetics of that figure. That said, I wouldn't be opposed to them trying it on a character I have no use for just to see if it could work. Because I do feel it would improve double handed Saber stances.

About time...

Needs the alternate gunner cardback and a deluxe release with poncho, floppy hat w/goggles, binoculars and rifle..

We also need another 'deleted scenes' wave with Biggs, Fixer and Camie.

....and a Tosche Station playset.

If they maintain the soft plastic for the lower tunic like they did for Leia's dress, then they will need an alternate SG's version w/headset for his Falcon Gunner release. I also think instead of the DLX route, like they need for one-off release like Paz or Cobb, Luke can be rereleased several times with alternate gear. Three releases should cover everything needed.
