I wonder which version we'll see; the light or the dark skin tone?

Wish they would have given him his correct cloak/robe. Ugh. I already have this figure and highly recommend it for those that don't though!

Pass!!! Not wasting money on this ummm "great figure" I can already see Wal Mart/Hasbro screwing this up. Im considering selling my stuff!!

Never got the VC release and doubt I'll see the Jabba's Rancor set so I'll probably pick this one up. Shame they still couldn't correct his cloak, does Hasbro even realise this mistake? Kenner had it right in 1983 so not sure what their problem is.

It's a good figure, but they just re-released this Luke in the Jabba's Palace pack. They recently did the same thing with the Threepio in the Jabba set and TBS. I really don't get why Hasbro does the multiple re-releases at once so much.

According to Hasbro it's easier to fall back on that tooling for other product ideas than at a later date. For some reason it's a huge burden to track down a mold at the factory. Interestingly every time they do decide to do this and given two choices, they miraculously always pick the inferior of the two. It's pretty amazing really.

Hasbro already screwed this up. "Let's tell everyone we have to raise the price due to the cost of plastic, then sell the figures with three times as much packaging as when they were previously released. As a bonus, most of the figures will be repacks of ones we already made. We'll even throw in an old swivel-elbow Vader for good measure. And we'll market it as the 3.75 'deluxe SA line'."I really don't want to see what they'll try charging for these. I guess with the additional packaging, it'll have to go up to $15.99.

I wish Hasbro would communicate more on those. I can't believe those hit retail without any leak. Hasbro pulse could serve that purpose i guess.

While we're on the topic of his cloak being wrong, does anybody know of any online tailors/customizers who make an accurate Jedi robe for this guy. I found a guy last year, but unfortunately he stopped making 3.75" stuff.

They should have given him a cloak, lightsaber and gun.

In other words, vintage figure accessories rather than a strait repack of the deleted scene figure.

In the future it would be great if they make a new sculpt Luke with removable soft good cape and on screen accurate with blaster and lightsaber.

I have a couple of this one already. It's a nice figure, just a bad choice for wave 1 of WM TBS. If I saw him alone in the wild and I hadn't bought anything else in a while, then I'd probably pick him up, but at this Point he's an easy pass for me.

Picked up one today to tear apart for customs. Was surprised to see the boxed figures on the pegs. I have to say that I really like them in the boxes - it looks much better than the carded Black Series figures in my opinion.

They do look better I would agree...but with that said I still couldn't bring myself to buy this particular figure. Not after just getting him again on the Jabba/Rancor Pit set the other day. I did buy Chewie however...and don't ask me why lol. Maybe since I was surprised to find them so soon. I hadn't even heard any reports yet they day I found them.

Sadly all the figures I left are still there...

No shame in buying that Chewie - he's still one of the, if not THE, best ROTJ version of the character to date. I'd love to buy up a whole bunch of that figure but my funds are limited and being focused entirely on the upcoming Black Series/TFA figures.

I only wish Hasbro would have tweaked this Luke figure even a little bit to make him more accurate to his appearance on screen and therefore more enticing to buyers. Not a bad figure, though, by any means. Given the 500th Darth Vader figure being included in this first wave, we could have gotten that TAC Jedi Luke monstrosity :p

Nice figure, a stone/skull, bone or blaster as well would've been nice.

Articulation cost being an issue, i understand Hasbro balancing things with adding few accessories. Yet, they'd better reconsider the box approach and reverse back to blister so it's not too obvious we aren't getting much beside the figure itself :p

If they don't have the costing to give us an accurate cloak and maybe gun (something new!), then just skip it! Very few people are missing this figure or desperately want it at this point, and would be perfectly fine moving on to TFA stuff. Its certainly not a bad figure, but not nearly in demand as many other TVC figures we would snatch up in a second if rereleased. I understand the Chewy is quality too. But wouldn't we be as willing or more, to just wait and purchase a new TFA Chewy? I see no point to this wave 1 except to damage the success of the line. If the TFA figures are not ready yet, we will be glad to just wait. I can't see how this is satisfying anyone.

Just use the cloak from the Vintage figure. ;)

Why should we have to take a cloak off of a 30+ year old figure to make Luke correct??? I cannot figure out why in the world Hasbro refuses to do an update to Luke's cloak. The black one from the OTC is last one I can remember (which is also bad). And it may not have been new then. EU characters can get a nice accurate cloak, why not Luke Skywalker???

Absolutely, and one of the two factors I blame for the past couple years' decline: poor character/figure choices. Heck, if they wanted it to be a ROTJ Luke, at least use the DS2 version which was nowhere as prevalent as this one. Though not a primary character, a re-release of the Hoth Rebel trooper (or Emperor's Royal Guard) would have sold out at every location.

Saw him today at WM but passed on him (and Vader and Chewie). They had four of each which may hanging there for a while.

Not only that, but at least the DS2 Luke would tie-in with "The Force Awakens" in at least a few ways too.

Any characters relating to the second Death Star/final duel/Battle of Endor would have been great choices IMO, really.

Agreed. Also, knowing that new characters are on the way with a new film will help a lot of People get overt the Price tag. If I walked into a WM and saw Wave 2, I wouldn't hesitate to pick them up and multiples of the stormtrooper. I'm sure if I didn't, others would come along within a few days and buy up everything.

At $12.93, these are gonna peg warm.

I have to disagree. Most of the TBS 3.75" figures that have come out over the past year or so have been going up in price and for the most part have moved. Most those were either new sculpts of rehashed characters or straight re-releases. These are going to be all new figures/sculpts based on a new movie. I'm not blinking at $12.93 and I have to think that most collectors aren't going to either. We may all complain about in the same post where we are uploading photos of our new toys though...

I've not purchased this Luke figure previously, so it's definitively exciting. The packaging is really good looking as well. I don't quite understand the brown robe, but I pilfered a black robe from TBS Darth Plagueis. Works like a charm.

Well, it's not the colors that are incorrect, it's that they used a robe rather than a cape with a hood. His arms should be free from robe sleeves, not in them like Ben Kenobi.

The only thing Pegwarming at my local Wal-Mart is Mosep Binneed because I cleaned out all of the Dutch Vanders to use as customs. Hopefully this will free up some space to get the new wave on the racks.
You must visit the Bizzaro World Walmart. Dutch will be the last of the Mohicans at the rest.
