This figure is rumoured via Jedi Temple Archives. No pictures or info just yet.

Does the idea of seeing this figure interest you? Obviously a Dagobah version to go with the rumoured Yoda figure, perhaps a reissue of the OTC version.

Very pleased to see this figure. While I actually do rather like the interchangeable parts version from years ago even now, he's far from definitive. This was, arguably, the Luke most in need of resculpting.

The announcement of this is kinda weird because when I looked at my ESB shelf today, I thought about how much is really like a SA Dagobah training luke

I still really like the OTC figure, IMO its a great figure, weird to think its 10 years old almost. I have 2 to display both ways.

But I am sure an update will be awesome. I may still use the old one for the handstand pose.

This is still probably my all time favourite figure combo from across the entire Star Wars toy line, I love this set. Looking forward to the updates though, I'll be interested to see how they look.

I never had the OTC version, so I'm definitely looking forward to this one getting upgraded.

This is a "See it first" thing for me. I am presently happy with what I already own.

I am interested in seeing what they come up with. The figures shown in this thread are fine, but would not mind seeing them updated. Looking forward to an updated OT Yoda as well.

I'm looking forward to this and the prerequisite Dagobah Yoda (that undoubtedly will connect o the Luke somehow ala backpack again). This is one of my favorite scenes from my all-time favorite film and will likely grab multiples even if not perfect. Hasboo, don't fail me now!

Yeah, it's still a great figure and it's unlikely that super-articulation is going to be able to mimic that arm pose. Even if they create joints that can, they are going to be so large and obvious, that Luke's going to look like a robot. So, for that specific pose, the OTC Dagobah Luke just can't be beat.

Even if the new one turns out nice, I may pass. Even though the old one is pre-posed and scene-specific, it perfectly suits any Dagobah display needs I might have.

Ready for this update. Although I do not like softgoods I think an appropriate use here would be a nicely done backpack that an entire Yoda figure can fit in.

Im pumped for this one!!!! Can't wait to get Luke and Yoda!!!! Man, if these could be repacked into the VC I'd be a happy camper!!! Still gonna scoop these up regardless of packaging!!!

My fear for the new version of this figure is that they will use the horrendous lower half of the 2010 Bespin Luke. I'm perfectly happy with the OTC version of this figure. I don't really care if a figure is "super-articulated". I'd much rather have a aesthetically pleasing representation of the character from the film that doesn't look like it has swollen wrists, ankles, knees, etc.

The figure I wanted for years, they finally getting to it. Looks I'll be getting into SW again maybe.

Much like the same figure but with articulated arms and legs would be nice.

Yeah I think it would be nice to see a Dagobah Luke with improved articulation.
The handstand and the Yoda backpack are great figures, but very specific to a particular scene. I will be nice to have an updated all rounder Dagobah Luke.

I'm curious to see how this figure will turn out or if it's just a straight repack of the Vintage 2010 Bespin Luke. I'm hoping that it's a super articulated update of the OTC Dagobah Training Luke. I also hope that the backpack for Yoda is softgoods and is in proportion to the figure. the original backpack from the POTF figure was way tooooooo large and the half backpack from the OTC looked too small.

Since the figure is named as "Jedi Training", I dont see how it can be a Bespin Luke? I really hope not.

also looking forward to a new Dagobah Luke... (very high on my most wanted list of new ESB figures)...

last one I got was the 1996 version... and aside from a nitpick here and there, I've been very satisfied with all of the TVC Luke Skywalkers, so I have faith that Hasbro will do justice for this new Luke

you don't understand action figures. You would enjoy miniature statues. That's not an insult. I really mean..you would be happy with less posable figures that are entirely aesthetically pleasing instead of action figure, which include an accepted compromise (swollen wrists, ankles knees etc), in the name of posibility.

Funny, I don't remember less jointed toys being called 'miniature statues' when I was growing up, pretty sure they were always action figures. Maybe I just don't understand either...

The articulation for this one could be the tricky point, if he has bare arms. Makes me think it may be the open flight jacket, "I don't believe it" Luke.

Do you mean the open Bespin Jacket, I REALLY hope not. Plus it doesnt really fit with the name either.

I wouldn't be opposed to it, it's one of my favourite moments in the Saga, and as far as I know that version of Luke hasn't been made yet. The jacketless version does need an update though, however good the OTC set is.

An extra set of arms with the sleeves on, and an open jacket accessory would cool.

However unlikely, that would be the ideal solution!

Granted, the OTC version of this was great for its time (and till holds up fair today), but now this is a figure that's been in desperate need of an SA redo for a looooong time now.

Its never been made. Its only seen onscreen for a brief fleeting moment. Am surprised to hear its one of your favourite moments.

It's really Yoda's moment, raising the X-Wing and all, but this brief scene is packed with cool force action, Yoda's wisdom, great dialogue, and Luke's failings at his training. They released Han in his open Hoth Parka, which is from a far less dynamic scene, and even less screen time.

That said, I'm sure this figure will be bare arms only. Wishful thinking to have a second set of sleeved arms and open jacket.

At some point, the costume variations get ridiculously shot-specific. Open-jacket Luke? What's next-- a Luke where his belt is half-buckled from the famous "Your weapons-- you will not need them" scene? :). I only kid; I'll probably grab every variation they put out (though most are unneeded at this stage in the game).
