Did Hasbro say if this was a re-issue or new/partially new?
They didn’t say if it’s a reissue or a retool, only that it’s an “update for all fans” which could be taken anyway. Given that the original ANH Luke was a number of years ago now, Hasbro might update his head and weathering.
Hope they fully update him. I guess the Jedi Training Luke's legs would be re-purposed for ANH Luke.

the original's head was so tiny. And I think I'd prefer a sculpted jacket. Unless they use a new material - looking at those jedi robes they want to include with Qui Gon and Obi Wan, I don't want that puffy material for a new ANH Luke.
I guess I will need to see it first to really decide.

Needs to be updated to match up with Obi-wan and the latest figures with that type of attire.
Headsculpt will be the truest test of Hasbro's latest sculpting technology
Hopefully it’s soft plastic, not cloth.
Yeah, the Kenobi show figures should be the standard for this if there's going to be new sculpt.
I'm actually quite happy with the archive release with the updated face, so it'll need to be a significant upgrade to get me to buy it. Same with the Leia.

This has been one of my most wanted figures for years, I hope they really knock it out of the park on this one!

As others have mentioned, the head of the original is so under scaled (and such a poor one overall) that I'll be very interested to see what this will be. Definitely a lot of opportunity for improvement on such a core character.

Man, if they are re-doing Luke (and I assume Leia), they better re-do Han as well!

I assume they will, though I worry they will just re-use the same lower body they used for ESB/ROTJ/SOLO.
We can finally replace that Ken/Barbie version of Luke. Sometimes certain soft goods just don't do a figure any favors.
Looks like no butterfly joints. Maybe the torso is a soft overlay with them underneath, but I doubt it. Big mistake to not have those. They are essential nowadays, especially for Jedi/sword/two handed weapon wielding characters.

Hopefully the engineering and face sculpt look on point. It’s not like this figure requires a lot of paint.

I'm sure Hasbro can find new ways, perhaps some texture based paint application, similar to that muddy Dim Djarin, or this time farmboy Luke is weathered.

If they reveal him at SDCC, I hope this one will be WITHOUT softgood-tunic, otherwise I might skip on this one. Same goes for ANH Leia... just my opinion

The face and hair aren’t an upgrade at all.
Thats fine, we can just take this (excellent) body and put a good BS Luke head on it....oh wait.
I think SHFiguarts is better but probably won’t be a great fit for this body.
I’m going to wait until I see a production piece, though. The paint job could make or break this.
Don't expect to pre-order this. I'll wait to see it in person.
The body looks great but I agree the face doesn't look like Mark.
