New Hoth Luke Skywalker will be released with the Wampa:

Who's going to be picking this one up?

For my personal taste, I wish they had done Luke without the face damage - but they're probably leaving that for the inevitable Luke w/ Tauntaun. Also would have preferred the Wampa without the blood all over its mouth. But these are minor quibbles, and won't stop me from buying this set.

Wonder if Luke has an alternate head?

If Luke came with an alternate head that would be nice. This isn't a lock for me yet as I don't know I'll have room for it, but I do like how they look.

I love everything Hoth.. but I dunno about the Wampa....nor Luke... please forgive me but I thought I was looking at something from Walking Dead for a second lol

Very cool set. I'm really liking this deluxe assortment; it gets great figures out while leaving space in the single figure assortments for others.

When someone posts about a new wampa in the 3.75 line thread you would think it would come out in the 3.75 inch line wouldn't you

I'm really disappointed they made a new Wampa for the 6 inch line instead of the 3.75 inch line. I hope the 6 inch collectors enjoy it, but my money and my heart will always be with the traditional 3.75 inch Star Wars toys.

Now I'll def. be picking this mother up, I do dig it...but something felt off to me. And I think it's the Wampa face sculpt. It feels, to me, like there's a big of artistic liberty going on here. It just strikes me as very...animated. Cartoony even. I still like this quite a bit however, but am I the only one who feels this way?

I couldn't agree more. I was really hoping the rumored Wampa would be in the 3-3/4" scale. It's clear, however, that Hasbro has lost all interest/faith in this scale, except for the atrocious Mission/Legends figures. Like many others, I had hoped that the SDCC display and presentation would renew my hopes for the line, but that, sadly, was not to be.

I don't want to be a buzzkill, but I am so disappointed that this isn't in 3 3/4" scale. I skipped all previous versions of the Wampas becuase I felt they lacked something. Now I feel Hasbro has made the wampa of my dreams, but in the wrong scale!

Well after a great update of tauntauns, land speeders, ewok catapult you hope a new wampa would get that final update on a vintage box. But I guess it is trapped forever on that mystical parking lot.

Stan posted about about it in the 3.75 threads so we had every reason to think it would be the smaller scale

I was hoping for that vintage box too!

Unfortunately the 3 3/4 range will slowly fade away from adult collectors, and down size to fast food production for children. The future collectors are all for bigger figures and high end gems.

When I finally have that huge Wampa in my hands, I'm gonna hug it to sleep like a teddy bear. ;)

Same here. It looks great but we've been waiting for a 1/18 version for some time now.

Who's to say the 6 inch Wampa can't fit in with 3-3/4" figures? We never see the fully standing Wampa next to Luke in the movies. Remember when we were kids, and used our imaginations...it's what made Star Wars toys so successful - the time before VCRs, DVDs, and iPads?

Well, i was sorta wondering about this myself. From the pics he looks to be 8-10 inches tall. Does anyone know/remember the size ratio of basic figures to the Wampa in the original vintage line? He seemed to be quite large.

Was excited to see this at the presentation...the Wampa is enormous and looks pretty well-sculpted. I'm also liking what I see from the design of Hoth Luke. I will definitely be picking this set up!

Although I am loathe to be pessimistic, but I fully expect the facial paint apps on Hoth Han and Hoth Luke to really, really suck.

Would you buy this... thing with blood dripping from it's mouth for your kids?

Well the only kids I gotta worry about have already seen the Special Edition, so if any damage was done it's already been done...

:hmm:

Looks fantastic! Really surprised to see all the pessimism, because the 6" Hoth stuff was the highlight of the day for me.

I've only been picking up the characters I like from this line and the Luke and Wampa are most buys :)
