Well I have finally recieved a couple of long awaited items and taken some pics of my Chief Chirpa collection.

Chief Chirpa was the first figure I bought as a kid and the only one I still got left from my childhood collection.
I think thats why I have a focus on probably the ugliest and most hated figure in the line...

SWEET! That looks great. I've been waiting to see more ever since you sent me the teaser pic.
smile.gif
Looks great and the display is great.

One question. How did you get an unpainted Palitoy sample? I've not heard of too many European prototypes surfacing. I'm curious of the history.

John

WOW, very cool, I like very much Chief Chirpa myself ;-) as an action figure I mean ;-)

Well done on finding the Meccano ROTJ + Trilogo.

Maybe you had seen my trilogo set focus limelight ? do you know that I've been able to find FOUR different chirpa carded trilogos (bubble/cardback variations) ?

Matte that is fantastic, especially concidering how long you have been focused on this then it is double fantastic! Those molds take the cake buddy! Really good displaying I will hire you when I get home to do mine properly!!
So I guess now I can forget about limelighing my Boushh run, compteting with this... *cries softly*

*now about that Boushh poster...*

You crazy mother******, that its just simply stunning

Couldn't have said it better myself. WOW...what an impressive display!

Wow! That is a superb collection Mattias.

Nice tidy & well displayed.

Thanks for sharing.

That is one of the best focus displays I have ever seen. Congratulations on all the hard work. I am loving the custom Chirpa necklace.

Is there anything else you are looking for? Are you going to put the carded run in acrylic or keep them in their star cases?

*edit* Do you have the POTF coin? I think that will look great displayed in an AirTite case on one of those shelves.

Mark

That one CRAZY focus, man
wink.gif
You defiantly need a Polish chief Chirpa in there
wink.gif
Ill LYK when/if I get one
wink.gif

This really is one of the best displayed focuses I have ever seen, then again Mattias did win the Design Bög of the year award at our local pumping Swedish Star Wars forum... One question though? WTF is the Emperor doing on top of the Ewok village? You have to let us in on the secret...

But what is up with the four meter wide pictures?
grin.gif

That's a really nice character collection, and it is very well displayed!! Keep up the good work.

That's an incredible run Mattias! Congrats on putting all that together. I'm not usually one for custom stuff but that header you made certainly accentuates the whole collection. I also really like how you put the company logos on the bottom of the description cards in your proto case. Nice touch indeed!

Amazing run indeed! Especially the molds and hardcopy. Great setup, thanks for sharing
smile.gif

Mattias,
So very impressive. Glad I could help and it only took you 6 months of asking
smile.gif
I love the way you have displayed it really sets it off.
Are you going to move towards the cartoon series?
Todd

Has anyone asked why the Emperor is on the top of the Ewok Village?

Awesome run! Great to see a figure focus that includes baggies. Cool 4-pack too!
Great stuff. Thanks for posting.

Andy

Awesome bro! Let me ask, what does a run like that end up costing?

Awesome display Mattias! Didn't you start, or restart depending how you look at it
wink.gif
, collecting Chirpa items fairly recently? You certainly have put some fantastic pieces together

I wish I could find the time to create a wonderful display like that. Of course if I could focus on one thing
frown.gif
and not be all over the board maybe my stuff would be that cool!! Truely an inspiration for me to find one figure I like and run with it. Great job.

It doesn't have to be one character as long as your focus has some sort of cohesive bond. For example two people in this thread have killer cardback foci. Broc has a Survival Kit wall set up with proofs, store displays, original art, foreign, and domestic carded, and other odds and ends. Jeffrey has a killer run for the Emperor Offer accentuated by a store display. Pics of both sets can be found on this forum. The main thing to having a collection like this is to find a common bond. You can make just as nice a display with a 12 bell, 12 backs from all countries, and a nice set of loose figures. You just need to find something with a common bond and your set.

WOW! Fantastic collection! REALLY cool pics, thanks for sharing!

I dig those little tags in front of the protos that have the company's logos on them. Those are really sharp!

Tommy

Wow, Mattias! Just ... Wow!!

That is a super-sweet run, and VERY nicely displayed. Almost makes it not so bad that you <sniff, sniff> abandoned Luke X-Wing as your focus for, of all things, an EWOK!
wink.gif
grin.gif

I like your custom signage very much, btw. Really adds something, I think.

Thanks for sharing!

Hi Mattias,

nice focus .Very nice displayed. I like your Meccano Chirpa..
I think you really need the Spain PBP ..

and German 3 pack

most impressive.. I was a fan of this figure when I was a kid too. he wasn't the first star wars figure I had but I remember my mind actually getting blown when I first saw the new Ewok figures and their plastic hoods and stuff. up to that point all the figures had been pretty much humanoid looking things or rigid droids. the ewoks were so cool because they were both one of the best parts of Jedi for a little kid and they were all organic looking and stuff with their primitive weapons and accessories. pretty revolutionary for toys at the time actually (which is what star wars always did best anyways.) I always liked the little figures like Snaggletooth and Yoda so Wicket was my favorite out of the Ewoks.

I will try to answer a couple of questions.

About one of europe's few prototypes: the unpainted white fur palitoy sample baggie.
Its one of the Palitoy Unpainted production samples that were sent to a few UK national magazines/newspapers that ran the exclusive figure competition.
There are only three known to still exist. All three are a little 'odd' as the torso appears to have been made of a slightly different plastic.

Maybe some bootlegs?
If you look really careful there's a mexican bootleg hiding in the Ewok Village.
But a polish bootleg would be great...

I work as an art director at an advertising agency so I guess its part of my job to know how do things like that

At the moment I'm not going to. I will try to get as many "ordinary" preproduction stuff as possible. First

Great collection and I love the way you have it displayed.

There's something about all the green on the cardbacks and speederbikes that makes it very appealing to look at. Odd observation, maybe, but very cool! Good job.

E...

I didn't realise that you and the Chief were so serious

Having an awesome collection like yours is great...but displaying it so perfectly really takes it to the next level.
Well done, it's beautiful

It looks to me like he does. The third shelf down. Or is that a little different? It looks like it might be the sticker rather than the printed on version.

Great display and collection! Posts like this keep me motivated.
