LightSword's Corner: A Tour of my Collection

GaerHT.jpg

In a nutshell, and as most Star Wars fans know, Endor is the largest of nine moons orbiting a gas giant also known as Endor. This star system was selected by the Galactic Empire as the construction site of their second Death Star battle station, their ultimate weapon to control the Galaxy. It was in Endor however, where the most decisive engagement of the Galactic Civil War took place, thus marking the beginning of the end of the Empire and the birth of the New Republic when Rebel Alliance forces won the war by destroying the Death Star, killing the Emperor, and scattering the remnants of the Imperial fleet. It was also there Darth Vader's funeral was held.

Endor is covered by woodlands, savannas, mountains and inhabited by a wide range of intelligent creatures, including the primitive, furry two-legged Ewoks who, along with Luke, Han and Leia, were crucial heroes in the final battle against the Galactic Empire, courageously fighting against AT-ST Walkers, Stormtroopers, and the highly mobile Scout Troopers with armored speeder bikes patrolling the forests.

Here are then pictures featuring the various Endor themed items in my collection so far I've gathered selectively, from Gentle Giant Ltd., to Sideshow, Code 3 Collectibles, and more...

The Biker Scout Koto piece was another one I always loved. I think it's just a great, dynamic action pose. Also the GG Biker Scout pieces are great as well. Though not the biggest fan of that movie, I think the Biker Scout design is to this day one of the best Stormtrooper designs ever done.

I agree. The Scout Trooper's action pose is fantastic on that Koto piece, and along with their 1/7 Tie Fighter Pilot and Snowtrooper they are my favorite pieces in their 1/7 scale line. I also agree with you about the look of the Scout Trooper in general. The sleek design of his outfit makes him the most attractive to me of all the OT troopers. A second close would be be Sandtrooper.

You know I also own this masterpiece, a book literally worth every penny. My only regret has been not being able to fully enjoy it yet as time always gets away from me. Thanks for posting all the photos so others who might be on the fence can see how incredible this is!

Agree. The books are worth every penny to those of us interested in the origins of all environments and characters for the original films, visually speaking. History in general is not to be erased or forgotten, but much rather to be maintained, to be learned and appreciate what others have done to get us to where we are today. To me, this great collectible serves such purpose, as far as cinema goes. And, you are welcome. Glad to show some of the pictures contained in these volumes. They are truly an encyclopedia on McQuarrie's work for the films.

Great looking collection.

Thank you very much for your kind words! :)

Thank you very much for your kind words, Andanna. Happy to know you you like the thread. I'm currently working on the Jabba's Palace related collectibles I have. That section will take me a while before posting all the pictures for it, as it is one of the biggest group of collectibles I've gathered. That said, I'll be back with more images and a short write-up in a month or so. Thanks, again!

I've just added my latest McQuarrie Concept Series mini bust acquisition, Yoda, to the first page of this thread, under my picture reviews of the McQuarrie Mini bust Collection. Number 578 out of 750 made is in the house. Click on the picture below to be taken to that page , if you are interested to see more pictures:

I've been having some health issues and need to have some tests and x-rays done. I'm hoping it is nothing life-threatening, but we'll see. For now I haven't been working on the pictures I said I would be posting here, nor posting much comments. I'll be back as soon as I'm feeling better. Rebelscum is part of my everyday life. Can't be without it for too long. :)

Praying for nothing serious and a speedy recovery!

Hello Julian, on this way I wish you a happy birthday .Hope at the same time that you are well, as we have not heard from you for some time !!!

Hello,
I'm Julian's son, Christopher. My Dad asked me to thank all of you that have expressed concern and have asked how he's been feeling. My Dad's been getting a lot of discomfort, associated with some pain on the lower right side of his abdomen and radiating to his lower back. This has been going on for about two months now, and the discomfort feels worse when he tries to sit down to eat or do computer work. There are other symptoms involved, but he's asked me not to go much into specifics. Because of his job requiring to finish up with some projects, he has been resulting to alternative medicine to deal with his health issue, and delaying seeing a doctor. The alternative medicine has helped him a little, but not much. Looking forward to his birthday, which happened on October 21st, he wasn't very willing to get any bad news from a doctor and wanted to spend that day with my mother and I at Downtown Disney, a frequent place for us to visit and have a nice time. Unfortunately, while waiting to have dinner at T-Rex restaurant in Disney Springs on his birthday, my Dad started to feel real dizzy and sick and the managers had to call 911 on him. His blood pressure, sugar level and heart rate were checked, and they were fine, so there wasn't much they could tell us about the cause of his health issue. After explaining to the paramedics how he has been feeling, they recommended to take him to the ER. However, being as hard-headed as my Dad is, he wanted to wait until today so he could go and early vote for these mid-term elections. We'll be doing that today, and we will go to see his head doctor tomorrow. He has pretty much decided it is the best thing to do.

Thanks again to all of you for your good wishes. As he usually tells me, you are his online family and misses interacting you. I'm hoping he can be back on track soon, sharing with everyone his beloved hobby.

Well I hope whenever you do get to the hospital (Julian), it’s not anything that can’t be sorted out quickly. Doesn’t sound like a good idea to delay but I can hardly talk, put up with pain for far to long & definitely paying the price..., all the best though & hope to catch up again soon. :)

Thanks very much for the update Christopher. Please let your dad know his friends at Rebelscum are thinking about him and wish him a speedy recovery.
