Leia - D'Qar

If anything, they should have reshipped Ceremony Leia. That figure I've still yet to find!

I saw Ceremonial Leia numerous times, and passed on her. In hindsight, I'd rather have had her than this figure. Ah well, live and learn.

Too true. I was hoping to find her on clearance, because I didn't like how she turned out. And wanted to cut my losses on any fixed i had to perform.
Never had the chance though, since I never even saw her once.

this figure is a terrible waste of a much valued slot! This figure should never have been made, let alone made ahead of and at the expense of some incredibly obvious much needed other figures.

While this Leia outfit wouldn't be my number one choice I'm very grateful Hasbro released it (the slot could've been a reissue of an older figure). I would've gone for her military fatigues instead.

I would have gotten Leia if they gave her the uniform she wore at the base where she went to meet Han. The more military one.

They'd have got more sales out of me if they had reissued an older troop builder.

Well the hairstyle in the movie was typical atrocious, and the figure version looks like Gary Oldman's Dracula. But all in all, its pretty good likeness of the old crone Leia. The blue outfit reminds me of the PT, namely TPM. You can flank this Leia with some Senate Guards.

Each to their own. And agreed, this is better figure than a rerelease. But I was really making the point about new sculpting budget, and those "slots". Specifically in that regard this is a massive waste, very ill-advised (sales POV) and a dumb mis-step.

I finally found her. I know some people may be sitting on some, but my area is drowning in Finn, Poe, and Endor Han since last Christmas. Went out of town and found her. Yeah, she's a pretty boring figure with a baffling costume choice, but it's the first TBS figure I've been able to buy in almost a year. I'm happy.

I finally found this wave too! Couldn't believe it. I passed on poor Leia though, none of the ones I saw had even remotely good paint apps.

Well I'm going to consider it lucky I found her in a town just 45 minutes away last week. Unfortunately after todays awful news, I feel like people will be snatching up anything with her likeness.

I just saw a post on IG yesterday regarding this. Some sleazebag lady posted a pic of her Wal-Mart cart with about 6 or 7 of these and was trying to sell them for $150 each to cash-in on her death. She must have received a ton of backlash for such a stupid decision.

Our Walmart had 7-8 of these two days ago. Today they had one in a damaged box. I bought a Gen. Leia Pop figure. I have no intention of selling it. I also ordered a couple of her books. Barnes & Noble was wiped out. I was told they sold almost every book of hers and a lot of SW stuff yesterday. Sad. I always intended to read her work, I just never got around to it. Those trying to cash in should be ashamed.

Man, that is just low!

After reading this, I stopped by Walmart and picked one up. I didn't want to regret passing on her later. I actually was able to get one that was less Joan Crawfordy than the ones I had seen previously.

It's sad that due to Carrie Fisher's death people want this figure now. Me personally, I still wont buy it.

It's not that I didn't want the figure before, it's just that I didn't want any of the ones I had seen before. The one that I got today actually had fairly decent paint apps, all of the others I had seen looked like Leia from planet Vulcan.

Agreed. I was going to look into her books today myself, I have never read her work, but all the controversy over the latest novel had actually got me wanting to read it, but I haven't had extra money what with Christmas and such until now. Didn't end up going, but I imagine I may run into a similar situation, and be out of luck getting a copy.

Pretty disgusted to see the price hikes on all of her figures. I was actually in the middle of building up my SA Leia collection as all of my Leias from the OT were all terrible 90s ones. Now it looks like I'll wait for prices to settle back down

I have the only one I need of this figure.

And I don't think the passing of a celebrity makes an action figure increase in value. it's a whole different thing than an Autograph...
A signed piece of memorabilia increases, as it can no longer be obtained from the source. But action figures can still be made at any time.

Some people...

The scalpers will probably quiet down soon. I know Grand Admiral Thrawn figures have rocketed up once he was announced to be on Rebels, but they've since been declining closer to their original price, and once the new one is on pegs, I think it'll stop altogether. I imagine once Fisher's passing is further in the rearview mirror, her figures will return down. I feel bummed, too though - I never collected Leia figures much as a kid, I'd have two or three good ones and stick to those, and only recently was I reaching back to collect more of her figures, so obviously I won't be doing that again for a while.

Nonetheless, even if it all quiets down in a few months, it's still morally disgusting that somebody became aware of Carrie Fisher's passing and smelled profit.

Scalpers in my area must not know. Plenty of D'Qar Leias.
Perhaps it has something to do with anyone who loved her character not wanting to have to memorialize her with a figure that awful.

Or not everyone is D-bag.

Probably just the fact that there are only a few imbeciles who think a figure will increase in value because of it.
perhaps if it had been signed prior, then i could see it being worth twice retail.

I recently completed my Leia collection with the Potf2 ewok celebration figure. Which versions are rising in price the most? TVC?

Same. I had a Bespin one and an Endor celebration one and that was it. My strategy as a kid was always to get the widest variety of characters as possible. I did pick up this Leia though and the Award Ceremony one at Wal-Mart today cause of the passing and realizing I didn't have any Leia's in my revamped collection at my apartment.

Ironically, those are three of the Leia variations I haven't purchased myself, even now.... well, there's a Bespin and an Award Ceremony in the family's shared carded collection, but not in my personal loose anyhow.

I wonder if I'll ever see D'Qar Leia in these parts? I could probably be convinced to impulse buy her now, though it's a shoddy figure.

So since the photo archive lack a full breakdown of the figures like Curto used to do, how well articulated is she? And what does she look like underneath, does the plastic and SG come completely off? I'm curious if I can use her arms and torso for something else I've been in WIP stage for years.
With the Price being so cheap, i may just buy a couple.
