Dear Valued Collector,

Build your own Star Wars Clone Trooper Armada!

These pre-painted collectible press ‘n fit kits are NOW available through your local Toys ‘Я' Us stores. There are 2 sets: Armada 1 and Armada 2; each set retails for $15.99.

Bred and trained on the oceanic outlying place of Kamino, the unflinching loyal clone troopers are born to serve the Republic. Despite sharing identical genes, a clone trooper often fosters a greater sense of identity by giving himself a name, a stylized haircut or even the occasional tattoo. While a clone's role may not seem a enviable one, the hardships of battle foster an unparalleled camaraderie that only further cements his fraternal bonds.

These Clone Trooper Bust-Ups Sets make great stocking stuffers for the Star Wars collector in your family! Collect both sets today!

Picked my set up over a month ago-- much lower quality than the original ones-- pieces fall off very easily.

Wronge. These are doing very well in my area and I think they look ver nice. It's over prices for sure but they should have put them all into 1 pack for $20-$25.

I found the Gentle Giant bust-up clone 3-packs at a TRU in North Texas today. They might have been out for awhile but until the announcement posted on the front page I'd have never known to look for them.

To me the bust-ups look about 10-15% smaller in scale than a realistic figure so while the jury is still out they're still pretty close for my purposes. The paint varies quite a bit in quality from one sample to another (isn't that getting more and more typical of SW items as the year has gone on...) so anyone buying will want to look carefully between what packs are available.

The sets have Rex, a 212th trooper, one of Plo's troopers (or an officer from his unit), one of Gree's troopers, an AT-TE gunner/crewman/trooper, and a clone Senate security trooper. Nothing that can't be had in figure form from the Clone Wars line, but I still dislike the body proportions of most of animated line so I'm not getting the vast majority of them.

Not a bad move by Gentle Giant releasing these sets. They're the first bust-ups I've bought in over two years. I'd be game for more (especially a Cody, a Gree, and a Fox).

I have also finally found these last week here on Long Island. Does anyone know if there are variations to these two series??? I'm guessing there may be a clean version but no conformation yet

The paint jobs look ridiculous to me. As I've always said, BustUps are the gateway drug to mini-busts, maquettes, statues. I stopped buying BustUps when I ordered my first maquette. The only exception was the last animated Clone Wars set with Saesee Tiin. Now they all sit in a box, because my bigger stuff is so much more fun to look at.

I got both sets today for $9.99 each at TRU. They didn't have a place to put them, so they had them all on under a tag that read 9.99. So that is what they sold them to me for. Funny thing, I have to agree on the painting of these. One of the helmets is not painted very well.

I haven't seen these yet at my local TRU, but I did manage to pick up a set a month or so back on ebay for around $3 - not sure why it sold so cheap. But I do have a question for anyone who has seen these at TRU - that large round TRU logo on the front - is that a sticker, and is it on the outside of the package? I ask because the set that I received does not have that sticker, and I was just wondering if I have some kind of salesman sample or something. Not that it matters, as I'm opening it anyway. Just wondering.

OK, I checked and it was more like 2 weeks ago, not a month. But anyway, here's a pic of what the set looks like - no TRU logo on it.

Yes and yes. It's a sticker on the outside of the package.

A spectacularly crappy two sets to kill off this cool little line. Way over priced and the quality isn't there. I looked through a bunch of sets for a decent paint app and it wasn't to be found. Plus the price point is nutty.

I don't think we're going to be seeing anymore of these bust-ups anytime soon. These will sitting at TRU for who knows how long.

Today I returned the unopened set I had. It was a combination of a somewhat cooling interest in the Clone Wars series, dislike that 5 of the 6 bust-ups used the animated clone trooper sculpt as a basis, and the cost.

I agree with you on that point. Even though I got mine below MSRP, I still might return them.

I noticed these at TRU the other day for $5 each, and they cant even sell out at that price - I'm guessing this line will never come back now.
