I’m pretty sure that’s the best Jaxxon I’ve ever seen. That’s transcendent. The Kenner body pieces (especially the Snaggletooth arms!) give it a ‘70s Marvel Comic quality, yet the modern-style head allows it to fit in with anything Hasbro. It’s timeless. Also, the details actually match Jaxxon’s Marvel costume imagery. That’s a winner.

And to think that those Jaxxon heads are only $18 on eBay. It’s thrilling to me.

And of course I also love the other two! Anything Zahn is a bonus to me!

It’s been a minute since I’ve gotten or posted any customs, but I did just dip back in a bit:

Here’s a TVC-style Ponda Boba in Kenner colors. I got him from customizer “sterlistr” on eBay. It compares favorably to the TVC Ponda I altered with a POTF2 larger head (I prefer this new one, and now will display it as my primary Ponda). He was about $20, marked down a bit as part of a bundle.

Here’s an Echo Base trench lieutenant guy, made easily from a Cassian Andor Eadu body and a Kenner head. He definitely is worth the ten bucks he cost!

I recently made my own Action Fleet Assault Gunboat. Being a fan of the X-wing/TIE Fighter/X-Wing Alliance games from the mid to late 90s, this is so cool to have. The body is an X-wing, but the wings were 3D printed for me from Shapeways. I needed the wings, so I guess this could count?

This thread is wonderful, I applaude it with all my strength :) . Sure, it could also be posted on acquisitions, but I think it fits better here, as a place to see nice customs, possibly of customizers who never bothered to post them, for all to enjoy.

I've saved many pics, which one day might inspire me to make my own version.

I am mainly a customizer, but also enjoy buying customs when I can afford it. I don't usually pay much for them, as I find easier to make them myself, but as a customizer, I know how much work it is and enjoy the uniqueness and speciality of any hand made figure.

As I usually buy my SW figures on UK, rarely customs are seen, and so, all the customs I have are made by myself. But I will be sure to post them here when I do. In other collections such as Marvel and GI Joe I have a few, and would like that a post like this one exists in other forums.

DJ, that Assault Gunboat is triumphant! I’ve always loved Action Fleet, the Titanium series, old Micro Machines, the WOTC’s Starship Battles game, Fantasy Flight’s Armada, etc. They’re great because they give us massive ships undoable in figure scale. I admire your appreciation for the Republic-era and Rebellion craft stuff, all of which reflects a certain design vibe, with their clone tank magenta/gray colorways. Your E-wing with the V-19 Torrent wings is such a specimen. Keep posting!

Thanks for the validation, Rahm Kota! I want to promote these artists’ efforts, and contribute or augment where I can. I’m not much of a customizer (I like to paint, but am bad with parts); at least this way I can involve myself in this section, which is a paradise for me!

Thanks, appreciate it! Action Fleets were my go-to line. I pretty much went all in (Original Trilogy only). I would get multiples of ships, even if there was a different figure or paint job. However, for example, the Rancor has 2 variations - a Luke figure with and without the bone. Something like that I don't need two of, so I opted for the version of Luke with the bone. With them being cancelled, I love doing customs with them to expand my collection. Not only that, they don't take up a lot of room either. Like with the original Galoob line, I try to do 2 figures per ship. A lot of the customs I have done were from video games I grew up playing.

Speaking of video games, here was one I did a few years ago. While this appeared in Dark Empire, I remember it from the last campaign level from the original Rogue Squadron - the TIE Droid fighter. This was a resin kit I bought off ebay, which I believe came from Scale Solutions. It was a very light tan color, came in three pieces and was very greasy. Instructions were to wash it with dish soap and let it dry. I did that, and after a few days to let it dry I painted it. I sprayed it black, and painted it with Fenrisian Gray. I really like this color for the TIEs. I left the cockpit and panels black, and lastly added in the gray details. Afterwards I simply super glued the wings in place. I thought about drilling a hole to get it on an Action Fleet stand but didn't want to run the risk of damaging it. Instead I just went to Home Depot, bought a PVC pipe for 50 cents and sprayed it black.

Beautiful! You’re so right about the scale being easier to store and display. I used to have about twelve mini-heads, and could display them on one shelf.

I remember Scale Solutions! They did a lot of Empire ships, especially Star Destroyers. Your TIE may be the only one like it anywhere in the world! Dark Empire was talking about droid fighters before other properties. It’s a neat concept.

And I also would’ve chosen Luke with bone!

Here’s one I made myself. It’s Wedge, Yavin Base Fatigues! It was a simple three step process (put on vest, take off holster, swap head), and yet I still messed up! This blue vest must have yellow sleeves. It’s a kind of dumb set up. I needed to paint Wedge’s black shirt yellow. Oh well.

Here they are with Wraith Squadron pilot Kell Tainer. I guess everyone has their own base fatigues preferences!

Here’s a weird apple-green Yoda with a Kenner/POTF2 combo head/body. It was made by Pamro Toys. The brown snake and cane are a very hard and brittle plastic, not at all rubbery or flexible. The figure itself is a light chippy plastic, without much solid standing. I thought it was a 3D-printed piece, but it’s truly not. It’s more like a bootleg. I love this guy’s color and vintage vibe! He was $37.50.

Here’s a TVC-style Blue Snag from my old go-to customizer sterlistr. It’s 100% TVC parts, with all the appropriate articulation. I can’t identify the parts, although I think from the boots that the legs must be from some kind of imperial.

Blues through the years. Kenner (1978), POTJ-style (2001), OTC (2004), TVC-style (2020).

These Mongo Beefhead Tribesmen were made by a customizer named Seinar Fleet Engineer. They have 5PoA and are ready to take on the forces of Atha Prime. They were $50 each.

A really great eBayer named seinar_fleet_engineer sometimes makes these, but I haven’t seen them in a while. He’s a really nice and reasonable person, and I don’t think he’d begrudge you at all if you drop him a line!

Of course it’s General Lando! I don’t know how I missed it; not too many guys have that torso/crotch construction.

I was bored, so I bought a 5PoA Orson Krennic, took his cape off, dremeled out an old BBI Elite Force head, and stuck it on. Now I have a Scarif Base Officer. It cost $10 and took 30 minutes.

1595062124693.jpegI’ve grown to like my letter-jacket Wedge, so I made a Biggs. I had an extra Biggs head and a comparable blue jacket, so I ordered another TAC Yavin Luke. I’m thinking of ordering more Krennics and more TAC Yavin Lukes. It’s fun to make 5-minute customs!

I took your advice, gerrit. This thing is crazy. These pics don’t do it justice. It absorbs light so freaking fast. I think it’s radioactive. You can see his little wrinkled head glowing in the Force from across my whole house. It’s so creepy. I now strongly approve of glow-in-the-dark things!

If Yoda had wanted, he could’ve been a really bad little Chuckie guy. No one would’ve been able to stop his infiltrations. He would FIND you! The Jedi got lucky on that one...

I mean, what kind of guy carries snakes around in order to be “complete”? He’s a wonderful old Jedi Master, but eccentric enough to keep your eye on...

He looks like he comes straight from a Chernobyl nightmare! My mother didn't let me buy one back in 80 something because she didn't like the look of him and thought he was going to give me nightmares. I did not agree with her back then but now i start to see her point :alien::alien::eek:

Rabid_E also made this Kenner-style Labrun Leids. He obviously used some Greedo parts. He goes by solarmanoatom on eBay and does lots of aliens and EU characters. This one was $47.50.

The last of this trio is Labria. He has a nice vinyl Vader cloak. Rabid_E used some putty stuff to craft the headband scarf. This custom was $30.

Well, now I’m in head-swap mode. I apologize in advance for wasting your time...
1595676777872.jpeg
I’ve had this head lying around for YEARS. I think it’s from a Jurassic Park figure. It had been twisted off and could not be boiled-and-popped into place. I recently sold a little lot of loose figures, and one was going to be POTJ Qui-Gon in training gear. I took it out of the auction, flat ripped its head off, and glued this one on. It’s now a Dark Horse KOTOR Lucien Draay. Sorry for your time, but sorry not sorry for the custom...

Hi, these Beefheads are my work. I haven't been selling on ebay much lately, sales on Facebook have kept me very busy. I'd be happy to make one for you if you are interested. You can message me here, or check out my Facebook page for a ton other stuff I have going on. Thanks!

I bought a 3D-printed, unpainted Yorpo Mog from an eBayer named reprobubbles, and then painted him up myself. He’s from Droids 1985!

I didn’t even paint him accurately, but he displays just fine.

Here’s Thorp from the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special. Bea Arthur talks to him, and he is rude to her. He’s a Sakiyan, like Djas Puhr, but with much lighter skin. I made him myself from spare parts.

Here’s a Cantina denizen known only as “Stache Rendar,” from the awesome Crimson Dynomite. He’s based on this unidentified human. CD made him look better than he does in his photo.

Here’s a Saesee Tiin I bought on eBay for literally five bucks (one dollar, and four to ship). I like his weathered cloak. There’s something appealing about him. I honestly don’t know what parts were used.
