I was dragging some blown-down branches to the brush pile I’ve got lumped up at the back of my property, and I found a neat little piece of wood. So I brought it in to go in my Endor or Dagobah diorama. I have to decide what to do with it!
That totally looks like a piece to match where Luke sits down after failing to raise his X-wing out of the swamp, or is hand-standing while using the force, or to have Ewoks perched on top with rocks in hands, ready to cast them down on unsuspecting stormies.

Before you actually work it in to a dio I would make sure it doesn’t have any moisture inside. Let it dry out & then use a matte topcoat to seal it.
I'd recommend sterilizing it by baking it in the oven for a bit at least to kill off any potential unseen fungi spores. In a lot of miniature work using natural elements, heat treating is pretty important. I myself have a dedicated pan for cooking soil when I used to do more miniature dioramas.
Here's a video on treating wood for reptile enclosures, which has many of the same principles.
After you posted that I was reminded of the absolutely WTF! tree branch that grew on one of the trees in my yard. It snapped & fell when we had the bad freeze (with no power for a week) in 2021. I had never seen a tree limb grow like this…

I put it on the curb as is & it was gone a couple hours later. Pagans probably saw it & took it for some rituals.

It looks like some Duloks have been sneaking around your yard doing shaman stuff.
A few weeks back I had mentioned (in my customs thread & elsewhere) that I had a major dye session with a bunch of extras I had found at Ross & various clearance. Quite a few of the Jabba thug wave & OBW especially. After that session of dyeing parts in numerous colors I spent a weekend kitbashing & ended up making just over 70 figures.
The last couple weeks I have been doing additional detail & weathering as well as any additional painting that was needed. Thought I would drop a gang of them here (50 to be exact) & post some smaller group shots in my customs thread.
Some favorites of mine…
- OF COURSE little Tobi wut Clonobi. The result of the Kaminoans attempting to Clone Obi-wan whose dna was somehow sampled during his visit to Kamino. Unfortunately the Kaminoans were unable to duplicate m-counts which
resulted in a cake that did not rise. Imagine Obi-wan & Scrappy Doo combined.
- The Snivians, particularly the one next to the Prune Face. That Snivian is the lead singer for ‘Flock of Mynocks’.
- The Klaatu in the front row that looks like a WW2 era Japanese soldier
- The Sarkan in the middle right behind Tobi. Uses the Ketwol head & hands with the head reversed like what was done for Melas in the SE of ANH.

Stellar work as usual, Strobeeone!! Too many favorites in that bunch to even single them out. Great job at mixing parts to make them look unique. And the die jobs are beautiful!

The Ugnaught was inspired by a friend I had as a kid who actually looked like Bonaduce. Didn’t realize it until now. I always thought he looked like the kid/friend in ‘Terminator 2‘.

For the Mon Cals I dyed everything. The uniforms I dyed each 2 different colors. The torso & apron one color, & the limbs another. The body parts I dyed to get a base color to paint over. In the following pic the one on the left I dyed very dark to get a muted black & then painted various lighter colors over. The one on the right I dyed using Super Pink to get a deep wine color, then I dry brushed a lighter violet over it.

Yeah, you’re #1 ever. You’ve passed even the greatest hobby legends. The Weequay might be the greatest custom I’ve ever seen. The difference I think is dying over painting. I’ve never really seen that, especially in bulk. It’s a step forward for everyone.
I'm working on yet another Dash custom. I ordered a kit from Syndicate Customs, the same that I used for my Black Series Dash, just scaled down for 3.75". I wanted to update the previous one I did, as I dremeled out the armor from the POTF2 figure. Comparing it to the kit I received, the POTF2 armor looks like a crop top lol.
Here is a test fit. The base figure is Endor Han from last year, and the arms are Starkiller Base Han (the arms were a straight swap). The kit did come with a head cast but I prefer the head from the POTF2 figure. I currently have the figure drying.
