Is he painted to look dirty? Can't remember if the one I have has a clean finish on him or not. However, even if that was the case, not a big enough difference to get me to buy him again.

I think this is an example of a smart repack. Wait a few years until the character is no longer in circulation and rerelease him when he reappears in new media. That being said, I already own the original RO VC version and am not looking to army build these guys so this might be a pass for me, unless I see him at Ross. Lol

It’s not a bad choice, but the timing is pretty off. I get that Disney had to shuffle around scheduling for Star Wars content, but we haven’t even gotten to Skeleton Crew figures yet. It feels way too soon to be doing Andor season 2 releases.

This is a repacked figure, so it was likely decided by Hasbro as a cost-effective alternative given their limited budget for TVC figures. Skeleton Crew figures would require all-new tooling, which they’re probably saving up for next year. I agree though, that Hasbro could have waited a little longer until around the time Andor Season 2 premiered, but it is what it is.

It’s more on the fact that the would be Skeleton Crew figures we should be getting (at least Jod) haven’t been revealed when we know that’s the next series in the pipeline. We still don’t have an official release date for Andor Season 2, so it feels weird.

No complaints on getting a repack in and of itself. But hey, if they wanted to do a repack they could’ve swapped the Mauldalorian with K-2SO. Oh well.

So Cassian hasn’t rubbed the Imperial logo off K-2SO’s shoulders yet in the show. Different enough for me to pick him up.

It's on the TVC #170 as well. This is a direct repack, and I HATE when Hasbro does this. Same figure, new card, so let's give it a new number. Total BS.

I bought two of these on clearance a long time ago. When I setup my Andor shelf, I put the spare on it since they already announced K2 will come in Season 2. So I'll pass. But I am pretty concerned by this wave overall.

All of these figures are repacks or retools. This is the first wave like this that I've noticed since I started collecting. What's worse is that 4 of them have issues or are inaccurate in some way.

Mando - Wrong Blaster
Bo - Wrong Hair, Undersized Helmet
Thrawn - That body
Ahsoka - Still no hilts, no cloak, inaccurate upper arms

Nervous about what it means for the future...

I’m not too nervous about the future based on this wave. I’m optimistic based on some of the announcements we recently got that 2025 will be a stronger year than 2024. It also seems like the TV shows won’t have to be shuffled around like this year which caused a lot of problems.

You’re right in that this is the first wave in a long time (not including the repack waves) where there are no new sculpts and everything is a retool/repack. It is grating that a lot of them are inaccurate in one way or another. Ahsoka (Peridea) stings a lot since the TBS figure got the right pants and upper arms vs the TVC one. At least both missed out of the cloak and lightsaber hilts.

Thanks for saving me a few bucks! I’ve got a case on the way so I’ll keep one carded, but don’t need to get another opener - unless they become available at Ross or Ollie’s.

How are is K2 different from the imperial versions? Seems like a smart figure to send back out given his increased appearance in media- now people who might want to army build him can do so while those who passed the first time can pick him up for a decent price. Ironically, I had just been searching for (and found) mine.

I feel that way too, especially with the emphasis that 2025 will focus heavily on Tatooine. Tatooine is a treasure trove for figure ideas. You have the Cantina, Jabba’s Palace, TBOBF, a multitude of Mandalorian scenes taking place there, etc.

there was the Mando Fleet Comm. wave...who was all new in that wave? (oh yeah...Huyang despite disney beat Hasbro to the market) Sure accessories but the figs themselves were retools. But a wave like this one may be retail friendlier for holiday season.

It's not a new practice. We have had same figure repacks for years. I guess the difference here is that it's the same line but at the end of the day we all know repacks are a necessary evil.

I understand that, but my point is taking another numbered slot in the line, just because they changed the card. I'm equally as frustrated with the Rebel Fleet Trooper from the hallway set. K-2SO is TVC #170. Call this one #170-A or something, like they are doing with Salacious in the Jabba set.

Ah yes. Fair enough and I agree.

However we have a subset of people* that think the card is more important than the figure so that "Andor" branding deserves new number

*I'm not one of those people

Not only that, but hasbro is so inconsistent. Look at the ahsoka in the Amazon 4 pack...new card image, new sub-name, same repack fig and same tvc number. Then imp back pack din..New card image, new sub-name, 1 alt accessory, but tvc number is an "A"

The whole numbering thing is so jacked up now, I'm not even sure what the point is anymore. We've had stuff like Yoda and the senate guard with more than one image, numbers being duplicated, a Leia with two different numbers, alphabetical letters included with some numbers, foil chase variants with no number variation, a ROTJ Luke that changed from something like Jabba's palace to Death Star because the outfit was wrong, etc. It'd be nice if they had some sort of coherent and consistent methodology.

This is one figure I never got when it came out the first time. I sorta overlooked it I guess. I ended up with a 5POA one from somewhere and just missed the TVC version. It is a bit scarce on the secondary market.

Happy to get a shot at this one a second time.

Also: do not care about card backs or numbering.

Honestly it's par for the course with Star Wars these days. Can even get the canon on TVC numbering correct.

I like the character. I really like the design of this droid and think he's one of the best things in Rogue One. What I don't like is this....
First VC issue of him came in 2020, price?????? $12.99
......four years later?????? price???????????????? $16.99
Apparently, since Covid, action figure prices go up by about a dollar a year. I wouldn't like it, but I could see an increase over a four year span of a couple bucks. But the fact is....for a reissue......this is an absurd price hike.

I'm too new to the party to had have a chance to get the RO version without an aftermarket premium.
So I'm glad to get it on an Andor card now without premium. And as Andor leads directly into RO, it's simply perfect for me. 🙂

After Covid was when they also started playing the game of revealing figures from different waves at different times. Often, having different prices per figure.

Not anymore so than the price of gas, beef, eggs, milk, etc. Inflation is impacting everything. Raw plastics, shipping, and all of Hasbro's expenses have gone up likewise even if it is a reissue.

On one hand, it's good to see him reissued, there's folks posting that they missed him first time around and there'll be an opportunity to pick him up, so that's good. And I get that stuff has risen in price, it just seems that when some things go up where manufacturers claim inflation as a part of things, it feels like a convenient excuse. There are times when a hurricane causes gas prices to rise. I can understand it when oil rigs have to be shut down, production slows, supply is less........but......even the threat of a storm causes price increases that are totally contrived. Instability because of war......I get that there are real things that affect prices. All I'm saying is that there's times where I question the legitimate need to go up on a MSRP. I've certainly cut back on expenses, limited my Star Wars purchases quite a bit over the past couple years. There's absolutely a vibe in the whole Disney/ESPN/Marvel world of decision makers that screams greed. Crank out Iron Man 17, Star Wars spinoffs, and here's your over/under on the NCAA Who-Gives-A Rip Bowl presented by Hulu. Just get everyone to buy everything and gamble on sports, we'll make a killing and everyone will be happy. Seems a bit unsustainable. The more they try to squeeze me, the more opportunities will slip through their fingers. K2-SO at $12.99 would be a buy. $14.99 would be a maybe..$16.99 is a likely pass.

Seems a bit unsustainable
It is but they will move with the prevailing trends based on costs and try to get what they can. And things will come back down and they'll adjust again.

I remember being in retail and seeing prices go up, stock would sit, and they'd adjust it. It's all based on a percentage calculation of cost to produce and desired profit per unit based on current trends. If stuff stops moving at current prices in invites pause.

Right now there is enough fear around not finding the stock that some are still paying full retail.
