Re: Recent Acquisitions - Lego Edition!

Yesterday I picked up the ARC-170 Starfighter, and the day before that the new TIE Fighter. Christmas saw me receive the UCS Star Destroyer (as well as a LEGO Advent Calendar) - which was going to get started last night but the ARC-170 got in the way!

On Saturday I'll be getting my hands on the special Duplo brick with Anakin figure that LEGO UK gave out.

If I may ask, how does one come across one of those?
LEGO only gave them out to retailers who were big account holders (Ie orderd loads of stock).

I'm borrowing it for photographic purposes.

I love the Ferrari winner's podium myself. How come it isn't up on LEGO.com - is it a LEGO shop exclusive?

Re: Recent Acquisitions - LEGO Edition!

I've got ton of sets to build - the entire ROTS line, the sandcrawler, Falcon rev 1, a Mindstorms and a handful of Technics sets. Then I've got to photograph them all and sort the LEGO photo archives out. By then they should be 95% uptodate (missing one Mindstorms and early UCS sets). After that I'll be photographing the displays I've been buying, framing my three proof samples and beginning a hunt for a Japanese promo flyer and the 199 Toy Fair Invitation.

Sorry, that was entirely off topic.

Re: Recent Acquisitions - Lego Edition!

Yep! I posted this in another thread (because I couldn't find this one, so kudos to you GNT):

Quote:
This September I took a trip from the UK to California and did a LOT of shopping. I took all the baggies out of the boxes and carried them home with me. I knew I couldn't put the boxes in my suitcase so I mailed them (via surface) back. I expected a 5 to 7 week wait - they arrived today just one day short of 6 weeks. I am ecstactic

Top to bottom:

10174 - Imperial AT-ST (UCS)
shelf talker (1999)
6210 - Jabba's Sail Barge
6211 - Star Destroyer
vinyl banner (1999)
10019 - Rebel Blockade Runner (UCS)
10018 - Darth Maul bust (UCS)
MINI set POS

Jeremy

[/QUOTE]

I have also just picked up a stack of 2004-2006 catalogs with Star Wars pages, the 2002 MINI TIE Fighter in the LEGO mail-away box and a 6 foot tall Darth Vader banner all from eBay. I also picked up the 6212 X-Wing Fighter from TRU a couple of weeks ago for Xmas. (from me to me).

All in all it's been a good couple of months

Re: Recent Acquisitions - Lego Edition!

I just received a batch of LEGO promo postcards today, bringing my total up to 29 with only - to the best of my knowledge - five more to go (which are Snowspeeder, Twin-Pod Cloud Car, Landspeeder, Jedi Starfighter/Jango Fett's Slave and Super Battle Droid). If anyone can help please PM me or post here.

Thanks for the report - this si the first I've heard of it at retail (and if there was a post further up the list I apologise for not keeping up)

I got the AT-ST, Gen Grievous fighter, Y-Wing, Imperial Landing Craft and...

THE TWO BATTLEPACKS!

Thanks to Steve at LEGO for his generous contribution to our photo archives (which I promise to get up to speed in the new year).

Re: Recent Acquisitions - Lego Edition!

Over the past couple of days I've picked up a nice selection of LEGO catalogues and magazines (like Adventures and Mania) that have Star Wars content. I'm due about a dozen more over the next few days too.

I just picked up the UCS Vader's TIE Advanced. That leaves DS II, X-Wing and TIE Interceptor on my UCS list.

Re: Recent Acquisitions - Lego Edition!

I've been getting in LEGO publications like the shop@home catalogue and Mania/Magazine recently and am now complete from 1995 to 2002 which means plenty of post 1999 Star Wars content. I've also noticed that there are some cover variations. I'll get round to adding them to the Jedi Journals section one day.

Re: Recent Acquisitions - Lego Edition!

I just received the following in the mail:

7110 Landspeeder
7119 Cloud Car
7127 Imperial AT-ST
7146 TIE Fighter
7171 Mos Espa Podrace
7200 Final Duel I

These are all sets I had before but I through out the packaging. Luckily forum member toyman was selling some in the Classifieds. Brad packed them securely and they arrived intact. I was very impressed with how clean the sets were - the colours were vibrant and the bricks didn't have a mote of dust on them.

I just picked up the UCS Death Star II, the two new magnet sets and the Spring catalogue today. Plus I finally found the LEGO brick ice cube trays and their 2x2 sandwhich boxes. I also discovered they have a new brick keychain hanger in stock too. $500 bucks later I left the store

Just received a new 65153 Jango Fett's Slave 1 w/ bonus cargo case for $68 from a scummer. Considering the 7153's going for over $100 nowadays, it's a pretty sweet deal.
Damn! I've been looking for one of those for years! Does this scummer have any more sets for sale?

I just picked up this baseball cap and t-shirt via eBay. They are exclusive to LEGO stores in the USA.

I believe there is a pair of wristbands (which I haven't got yet) to finish off the ensemble.

I received an eBay win yeserday.

This box of Typhoo Tea was released in 1999, and had a dual promotion. The pack-in item was a packet of 6 Merlin collectible stickers, and on the back there was a promotion for the Droid Fighter and Naboo Swamp sets.

LEGO is my bag, baby! You should see some of the other LEGO items I'm chasing down.

I think the conversation went like this:

"How can we get more 80 year old's to buy LEGO?"

Today I finally received my 65030 Desert Skiff & Slave I value pack from 2000.

Sorry the pic is so bad but I'm using the one from the eBay auction until I get round to cataloguing all my LEGO.

I also received my Don't Get Cocky t-shirt from Game. The "Let The Wookie Win" shirt should have arrived on Saturday but the idiots at Play.com sent me an Anthrax t-shirt instead.

Oh yeah, to keep this post on topic I picked up a boxed Millennium Falcon (7190) on eBay for a killing. I only needed it for the box though, so if anyone needs the set and instructions please contact me (but don't make a reply post in this thread OK?).

Re: Recent Acquisitions - Lego Edition!

Not one, but two UCS TIE Interceptors arrived in the post today
Both are 99% complete, one has a battered box the other's is OK. I'll be making one complete set and keeping the better box and will rebuild the other one and sell it with the lesser box.

I also got a stack of LEGO Magazines (USA), and boxes for Droid Escape, Ep2 JSF, Y-Wing/TIE Fighter (original, not release - still need this one tho) and Bounty Hunter Pursuit.

All in all a LEGOtastic day.

These pasted few days I picked upal lthe boxes from the SW sets relased in '99 thanks to Gus Lopez, the LEGOland California SW Day DUPLO brick, ribbon and promo material from Never Enough Bricks at Bricklink, a nicely crafted MOC Uzay "Head Man" from Nick Macarty, a bundle of US LEGO shop-at-home catalogues from Mofo_Jones (your Royal Guard keychain will be in the post very soon I promise), the SW wristbands from our own Dan Curto as well as some promo material from the LEGO stand at Celebration Europe.

So much to catalogue!

After my first toy run in months I got the Republic Cruiser today.

I also saw the JSF w/ Hyperdrive Booster Ring, N1 & Vulture Droid, Hoth Rebel Base and TIE Crawler.

The first three (and the Republic Cruiser) were all to be found at TRU, while the TIE Crawler was at the LEGO shop in Milton Keynes.

The display base/command centre that comes with the B-Wing is emant to be part of a Mon Cal Cruiser. (Think of ROTJ)

I got the JSF with Hypderdrive Booster Ring yesterday, and today I will be getting the Hoth Hanger, MTT, Motorised AT-AT and the UCS MilF.
