Looks like we have new Star Wars mini ships line coming for per this JediNews.co.uk article from UK Toy Fair 2022.

Click through for the full article and some teasey pictures. The guts of it also pasted below...

Jazwares celebrate their 25th anniversary with the launch of the first authentically scaled vehicle line in Star Wars history, Star Wars Micro Galaxy Squadron. This new line is broken down into various vehicle sizes: –

  • Assault Class — Millennium Falcon and similar sized vehicles
  • Starship Class — larger vehicles including Boba Fett’s Starfighter (Firespray) and the Razor Crest
  • Transport Class — including the Troop Transport
  • Starfighter Class — X-wing, Jedi Starfighter, TIE Bomber etc
  • Light Armor Class — TIE Fighter, AT-ST and other similar modes of transport
  • Scout Class — Speeder Bikes and other single person small transport vehicles

We do not know if this new line is plastic or metal, how much its will cost, or when it will be available, but will share more as soon as we can. We expect the line to launch later this year.

We're gonna see ships in all sorts of sizes!

Note: I had originally requested Mods delete this thread as it duplicated discussion in the Micro Machines thread, but seems folks want to keep it. :)

I'm thinking maybe we would want to KEEP this thread and transfer stuff over here about this line from the Micro Machine Thread which I believe is where the info is currently, since this is a different brand after all, correct?

It's by the same company who are doing the current micro machines line, I'd guess they've simply dropped the micro machines name for these so that they don't have to pay both a license fee again to Hasbro on top of the license fee to Lucasfilm.

I see it as micro machines, and keeps that thread alive alongside the cars.

We could certainly have a separate thread for this new line, because they aren't actually MM, nor from Galoob / Hasbro. The older thread was really intended for the modern starships line (and classic Galoob) that Hasbro did for SW, not cars, etc. After I retired from being a mod here, I don't think anyone else really took over this section - but you can request a thread combination if you want. I am curious to see how this line develops, as it will likely be welcome with the unfortunate decline of HW.

Studying the pictures, it looks like the Scout class range might be mystery-boxed. I can make out an AT-RT walker, Zam Wessel's speeder, what might be Maul's Speeder from TPM, a swoop or some kind, and a BARC speeder. One of the others could perhaps be a STAP? It's hard to make them out in the images.

The Light Class range seems to include an AT-ST and AT-Raider, a couple of TIEs, perhaps sorting alternate deco, and the Fanblade, which seems ti have working wings!

In the Starfighter assortment we can see a Jedi fighter with Hyperspace ring, Outland TIE, Vader's TIE fighter and an X-Wing, while below them the Starship class Firespray and Razorcrest mentioned in the article are clearly visible. Lots of these ships and vehicles all appear to have opening cockpits.

The Transport class Imperial Troop Transporter is there, and is that a removable canopy on the Millenium Falcon, allowing the interior layout to be viewed?

What a crazy new assortment! While I am missing capital ships, I do love the variety.

Looks like Cobb Vanths speeder bike with the pod racer parts at the front next to the AT RT

And can see Mandalorian's speeder Bike on the left side of the bottom row

Can see Moth Gideon under the outland tie - confirming that these will have figures; likewise Baby Yoda's cradle is infront of the Razor crest

Jumping into Mando, instead of doing only the classics from the OT first is a smart move, something most companies fail to do in order to secure longtime collectors that likely have numerous versions of the classics already. A diverse assortment is what will bring in the most potential customers to a new offering like this. The availability and pricepoints will be key, because when you've got everything from MM size to AF, you could interest a variety of consumers that might buy one range but not the others.

Agree with you DS and it does indeed look like we have a scale range from MM up to AF playset.....something for everyone. I'm impressed with how the toy fair pics are being dissected but can't wait for some glam shots :D

Oh wow, good catch! I mistook Cobb's speeder for Zam Wessel's, but that makes much more sense. Nice job! Yeah, that has to be Mando's speeder, too. Well done. :)

100% agree. Great move on their part!

Well these look super interesting. Anyone know if Jazwares is international, or is this going to be another Altaya isolated to European countries?

Also, I'm really hoping we get some Prequel-era clone vehicles. No one has ever done a SPHA-T, and I'd love some more Clone walker variants.

I collect the Halo figures Jazwares currently produces and know they're available internationally but often 1-2 waves behind what's available here in the States.

Unfortunately they haven't really been that available internationally - Jazwares pretty much gave up selling them anywhere here in the UK after the first wave, and they've never been available from even the more specialist e-tailers - they really do need to get their distribution sorted, somehow it's even worse than Hasbro's, at least outside the US!

TRU sells Jazwares' Halo stuff up here in the Great White Norf so fingers crossed that their SW ships are coming, too.

Gotta say that I'm fairly ecstatic that there's a new licensee. It's been pretty light for small ships lately, I'm sure y'all will agree.

Oh no. Not TRU.

After the recent insane price increases they posted for action figures I hate to think what they would ask for these. Especially compared to other retailers.

I guess the positive is that it would probably make it easier for me to be super selective about what I buy from this line.

Hopefully it's handled better than the Hot Wheels Starships line here was (which they just suddenly decided to stop selling), but I can't see that happening, really.

Smyths, Argos and a bunch of other retailers have been stocking the Jazwares Micro Machines line in the UK, so I'd hope that distribution channel would lead to these making it over here.

Looks like The star wars hot wheels cars are back at Smyths too, so maybe the ships might make a return (Although that is likely just wishful thinking on my part lol)

Wonder if it is a mystery or just a "plastic free" windowless package like Hasbro's current wave of Grogu Bounty Hunt figurines? Maybe some generic pics, but one side shows what's inside?

I hope so!

Those price points aren't too terrible, either, if they represent the mid-range ships and vehicles.. :) I just hope the scout class is cheaper, given how small they are. To be honest, they're probably all that I am interested in.

Quite a few Jazwares products make it to the UK and they have an office here, so I'm optimistic about availability (I've said that before). I was pleasantly surprised by the price ranges

Prepare your wallets: I have count 16 sets in the Amazon website (styles 1-17 minus the style 5, which is missing) and the total amoun is about $348... Just remember this is the first wave

Was there only one person snapping photos at the convention? I wonder why those are the only pics that have surfaced - are they not trying to promote the line? lol As for the pricepoints, that seems far off from what I imagined, surely the tiny Scout Class won't be at a 16.99 entry level price, and blind boxed - that would make it far worse, haha. I'm guessing Amazon won't be carrying Scout Class, and 16.99 is for the TIE Fighter range. Likewise, if the higher end is 29.99, for the Falcon, that would make more sense - I'm guessing that goes well beyond the old AF Falcon that opened as well. Looking forward to some much-needed details, as I won't be pre-ordering anything either.

Toy Fairs are not usually open to the public the same way pop culture conventions are. I haven't been to the UK version, but New York Toy Fair was an event for manufacturers to solicit upcoming product at buyers for retailers or select media. While many companies have booths on the show floor for casual perusal, the bigger brands are generally based off site in hotels and can be only visited by invitation or arrangement. There are usually NDAs to sign and no photographs policies. That's why there's so seldom much photography of newly announced product unless a given company specifically reaches out to fan media. Unfortunately it might be a while before we seem more photographs unless Jazwares releases some publicity pics, themselves, or a retailer publishes them.

I just saw this thread. Thanks for posting, ReverendStrone.

These look pretty awesome and i genuinely hope it's successful. Nice packaging and the Falcon looks like it has some sort of interior to display, so i'll be up for a couple of those at least. Looking forward to seeing a more of this line.

The Falcon in the box does not look the same as the Falcon on display. Also, does the internal option on some of the larger ships and cockpits on the fighters mean that there are figures going to be available? (These are toys, after all.)

Spotted moff gideon in one of the photos, and baby yoda in another, so looks like these will have at least one figure per ship.

I, for one, can't wait. Things have been very slow, collection wise.
Same, and these are a certain kind of special as they are the first action fleet type star wars product since like 2003? And with Jazzwares being license holder of micro machines it feels like these are the spiritual successor.

Looks like the fighters are mostly quite a bit larger than their X-Wing tabletop likenesses, approaching Action Fleet sizing, but the little speeders and speeder bikes look like they're roughly Micromachines sized, or at least toward the smaller end of X-Wing tabletop minis. Of course, until we see some in hand pictures we're just making educated guesses.

Do the wings look moulded into the body to you guys? It doesn't look like they are hinged to me. Also just realised it doesn't looked like there are landing gears either. I wonder if the cockpits will be the only moving part.
