Time for a next large project. Because many of you requested Jabba's throne room, I started on it. It will be in 1:18 and 1:12 scale (for 3.75 and 6 inch figures).
Please let me know what you think and if you will be interested.
The room will consist of several parts. I started on the throne and the Rancor pit. I am considering to also make the Rancor cave. (this will be very large, but fun to print). I modelled the basic shapes first. I will do that for all the sub rooms then I will fill it with detail. (As close as I can see from movie references and measurements.). If spaces are missing, I will use Battlefront 2 as reference.
Figures will not be included, they are used for scale reference.
When finished file will be made available for 3D printing.

There are now 3 parts to the model. (more to come).
Jabba's Throne area, The main floor (Rancor Pit) and the Hangout area. 1:18 scale for 3.75 inch figures.
I started on the artefacts behind the throne. The Rancor pit is ready and well be the first model I will finish. The plates will be removable to have a better look at the Rancor.
Next area will be the entrance to the room.

Superb design, love the multi-layered grate! And the spikes????, weren't they to keep Luke from being able to swing like a monkey in a deleted scene?

Just some update on the progress.
All the parts of the room have been modelled. All these parts will be separate pieces, so you can choose to use them or not, or to remove them from the diorama to get better pictures, or to position figures.
The Throne of Jabba' and its arc, are almost finished. Made most of the set pieces as well. (They will need a resin print to print, because of the small detail.) Also the markings on the arc have been placed to make painting them easy. (this is an option, and there will be a object without the markings also).
Next is to make the walls in to stone, so they can be printed and do not have to be added later (this will also be an option included in the model). Then all the parts need to be made ready for printing. I will start with the Rancor pit area, this will be the first part of the model that will be available for free.
Please let me know what you think of it, or if you miss anything.

My daughter was trying to explain Blender to me! They have a 3D printer at her school. I heard “mesh analysis” and had to tell her to go away! 😜

But it’s really cool that you know what you’re doing!

I used to use 3DMAX, but this is free. If you use it for a while, you get the hang of it.

An other update of Jabba's Throne room. Modelled stones in the walls (this will be an option) and modelled a lot al small stuff. Including the rottisserie or BBQ. with a bit of krayt dragon meat on it.
Next step is to colour these 3 parts and cut them in parts for printing. After this I will do the other parts of the room.

OMG, this is sooooo awesome. I have been plugging away on my own 1:12 scale Jabba's throne room diorama. If you make all the items in the room behind Jabba available for purchase and download that would be soo awesome.

Here is as far as I have gotten with mine using foam board.

That looks pretty accurate. Yes I will make all the items as shown in the pictures available as STL files, and will be printing them my self as well.

Update on the Jabba's Throne Room. Made some more detail and coloured the parts. Please let me know what you think of it so far.
Next up is the cut the model in parts for printing and finish the other 3 sets connected to this one (main entrance, side entrance and Han Solo's display room)

Looking at these atmospheric, claustrophic, cave-tunnel-like renderings reminds me that I really gotta learn to sculpt and print in 3D. Which program(s) did you use for the architecture and where are your textures sourced from?
