Who'd have ever thought we'd get a Jabba The Huntt figure so soon in the Black Series 6" line after it took so long to get one in the modern 3" line.

Check out the picture here

"Like" if you plan to pick up this bad boy.

OMG AMAZING! This line keeps getting better and better!

So no throne or any accessories it seems . . . still extremely awesome. I'm in, but if they price it too high I might get 1 instead of 2!

Accessories may not be ready to show. Or the throne pack with the works will be SDCC exclusive.

Truly looks amazing!! And yeah, I'm sure a dias is in the works...they know better than to just have Jabba sitting on the floor!

I think I'm gonna pass on this one though...he'll take up a lot of shelf space, and Jabba's an ugly dude! I don't want him staring at me all day! So one more for the rest of you guys!

That speeder bike though....I'll MAKE space for that!

AMAZING!!!!!!! I don't care how much it costs, or how many divorces it will cause me, I am buying this and it's going to be the centerpiece of my new 6" collection!!! Chewy freaking rocks too!!! I'm so excited for everything they've shown!!! Man, really hoping for the "throne" as well!!!!

I don't think he does.

Youre probably right, however, there is a lot is space in that box, and it seems like they could have made it much smaller if they aren't including something else substantial in there!!!! But I like day dreaming so I'm sure I'm probably mistaken!!!

Sorry to say, I'm really not impressed. I'm happy for you guys, but this will be a definite pass for me.

Just curious - what else would that Jabba have to look like to impress you? We still don't know for sure if that box will actually stay empty...

Early rumors suggest the throne, Crumb, and other accessories may be an SDCC exclusive...

I can't see them not showing an accessory if it was meant to be included in this edition. It's a figure, not a playset with a figure. That can come later, at SDCC. Then in 2015 we'll get a Chewie + Boussh set, then in 2016 a Bib + Interpreter Threepio...

If true, that is not exactly a wise move.
Jabba needs his Throne to sit on.

Yeah, hope he comes with a LOT more. As nice as this Jabba looks, without his throne and at least Bib or Oola, it's a pretty pointless release.

The sculpt appears to be the same. But remember, these are hand painted, so two show models like this won't look 100% identical to each other.

Yup, just hand-painted variants. I'll take the top one though :)

Also, even though there's a lot of headroom in that packaging to potentially fit more in there with Jabba, there's clearly not any extra room on the sides to account for the width of the throne. :(

The flash looks heavy on the bottom as well.

It really looks as if there will be no throne with this set which baffles me. I can't think of time that Jabba was released without it (not counting the SE version that slithered across the hangar in that scene we all want to forget). It just doesn't seem reasonable that the only place to get the throne would be through SDCC. The Wal-Mart from a few years ago was $40.00 I think and came with everything. In that case charge us $80 for this figure and a throne. But just Jabba in that box is strange...

Good point!!! Maybe it could come in two pieces?? Or perhaps they'll add Crumb, or Oola or, or maybe his hooka, and sell the throne separately later on!!! Who knows, but it'll definitely feel incomplete if they never make his throne!!!

The eyeballs look as though they might be separate (articulated?) pieces.

You move the arm and the mouth opens and closes. He has a sculpted tongue. Maybe there is eye movement as well but I haven't heard anything at this point.

I think they are more than just hand painted variants. The one in the package has extensive dry brushing on his arms and body. It looks like the prototype. The other is more basic and makes me think that is the one that will be sold at retail.

I do think it would be kind of unfortunate if they can't figure out a way for the dais to hit retail at some point and frankly it's somewhat surprising that this is the route they are going for SDCC - for now it is still cool to see Jabba at this scale, dais or not.

I didn't think Hasbro had the nerve to expand the 6" line in this way. It seems they are really committed to it for at least the time being.

I've really come to hate exclusives. I'd rather they just made a wave available at a con first so those who attended got the figs a month or so early but everyone else still could get them later at retail. Exclusives tend to just make attendees waste con time standing in line and non-attendees pay high after market prices.

The SDCC Exclusive is Jabba with Dais.

If that's the case, I'll just skip Jabba completely in both retail and SDCC editions. I don't like it when Hasbro plays these kinds of stupid games with us. Jabba's not going to sit on the floor, he needs his bloody throne. Are they going to provide a cardboard throne or something with the retail version? Because he's going to look pretty cheap sitting inside the box otherwise. Smarten up, Hasbro!

Yeah, I wasn't happy with the crap they pulled last year with the exclusive Han in Carbonite, which is now ridiculously expensive to acquire. So doing the same with Jabba and his throne is just as insulting. I'll try to get the SDCC version, but if I fail in doing that I certainly won't settle for the incomplete retail release.

There was no chance that the Jabba w/ Dais would make it to retail given the likely price. An Exclusive was really the only chance.

The problem with that is: why bother buying an incomplete Jabba at retail if the same figure is going to come complete as an exclusive? Jabba is a character most collectors set up in a diorama, and that requires a dais. So basically, Hasbro is setting them selves up for failure with a lot of passed over figures at retail, and they're setting the collectors up with another high priced, and hard to get exclusive. Great job Hasbro!

They have sold plenty of 3 3/4" Jabba figures over the years without the Dias. So....
