Was hoping for a dais but I’ll take it! My first TBS Jabba.

I have the regular release, not the SDCC version, so I'll still need to figure out how to acquire Salacious, the Hookah and I can make a dais. That is a nice looking box though, but for the amount of money this one will cost, I think I'll pass and find ways to work on completing a Black Series Jabba setup for more reasonable needs.

Other than the box I don’t see any difference from the old SDCC set but to those that missed it I’m sure they’ll want to pick it up.
Apparently, from watching the panel on YouTube, the Salacious Crumb is the newer updated version with articulated knees.

….is this for real??
No… not yet anyway. Price has yet to be revealed anywhere. K2 is probably right though:

Edit: Scratch all that, Yakface has it listed as 89.99. If that’s correct, color me shocked as I would’ve bet the farm on this one being at least triple figures.

I never had the heart to take the original one out of the box but now that i can get a second one I might set one free at last

Pass cause it's a Pulse and Disney exclusive. Shipping will just make it not worth it. I'd be interested if Disney ever decides to have a distribution center in Canada so shipping isn't a deal breaker it currently is.

I've got the creatures pack and the Jabba from the start of the line. Not spending $90 for essentially just the hooka/railing.

Question: Is the Black Series Jabba rigid plastic or soft rubber with some kind of skeleton inside? Cause, honestly, if it's rubbery I'll pass on it even though I would really like a 6" scale Jabba.

The tail is hard plastic, the face/head/chins are a rubbery overlay. I think it works quite well.
I've only taken my SDCC version out of the box a couple of months back, so its presumably been sat in storage somewhere for 9 years and I see no signs of any degradation of the rubber.

My first Black Series Jabba and my first Jabba altogether since I started collecting again. The last one may have been…Jabba glob? I hate Pulse but what can you do?

Screw it, got me one.
The 'Shoulda Coulda Woulda' crowd will be paying double after it sells out.
Yeah, I really regret not pulling the trigger on that Wampa reissue a few years ago. I'll keep my eye out. If ShopDisney gets it first I may just order it from them and cancel my Pulse order.

Ugh…I have the sdcc version but that box is so nostalgic looking

Me on Saturday: "Oh sure of course they are announcing a Jabba to go along with the throne room playset that's...wait, it's not for TVC? Eh, I don't need a Black Series Jabba when I'm dedicating so much space to a 3.75" throne room."

Me today 20 seconds after the listing went up: *SMASHING BUY BUTTON*

This is a wormhole I can't afford... I had no plans to own Jabba, but now that I could get him for a reasonable price I'm starting to think of all the other figures I should buy to go along with him - Bib, Gamoreans, Greedo...

"You've taken your first steps into a larger credit card debt."

I went ahead and ordered the regular boxed Bib from Amazon as soon as I learned of this release. Amazon had it down to $16.99 the other day, incidentally. I was thinking about who all else I need, and, really, there's not that many left that I don't already have. I think the only hole I'll have a hard time filling is slave Leia. I'll probably end up getting the new Chewbacca with collar and chain now that I'm getting Jabba. It's a slippery slope, LOL!

I was thinking what figures I might want to display with Jabba:
  1. Boba Fett (IIRC I think I have the most recent deluxe ROTJ version from a few year ago; I also have the Mafex figure; he's also in the 40th carded series right now)
  2. Han in Carbonite (was able to get a couple of the Amazon exclusive releases a few years ago; can still be found for reasonable-ish prices)
  3. Bib Fortuna (on the way from Amazon; also upcoming as a 40th release)
  4. Gamorrean Guard (I was able to get several when Target had them on clearance; still going for reasonable prices; and is a 40th release)
  5. Lando, in disguise (got the regular release a few years ago; he's also an Archive and now 40th release)
  6. C-3P0 (got the regular release from Walgreens and the Bandai model kit; easy find as an Archive release right now)
  7. Dengar (got the regular release a while back, easy to pick up as an Archive release right now
  8. Chewbacca (I have several versions, but it seems the upcoming 40th release is the most appropriate)
  9. R2-D2 (I have the carded ANH anniversary release from a while back and the Bandai model kit; new improved version incoming as a 40th release)
  10. Leia in Boushh disguise (I was able to get the most recent Archive release; an easy pick up online right now)
  11. Jawas (got some on clearance at Gamestop; easy finds online, there's the regular, ANH anniversary; Offworld, and Teeka from Obi-Wan series)
  12. Greedo (I think technically the character in ROTJ is Beedo. LOL! I have the newest retro carded version which is still in stock on Pulse and ShopDisney; there's also the Kenner style retro version for some variety)
  13. Jedi Luke (I was able to get the Walmart exclusive release; incoming without cloak as a 40th release; personally I'd probably opt for the Mando version which is incoming soon)
  14. Slave Leia (don't have it; want it; I'll probably look overseas for KO version if possible)
  15. Other bounty hunters (I forget if the other ESB bounty hunters were in any Jabba scenes: IG-88, Bossk, 4-LOM, Zuckuss)
Of course one could throw in various random characters that might fit in like, Cade Bane, etc. But, even if one was to stick to canon characters, there's quite a bit out there to fill a shelf as it is.

Cool box but would have been a better fit for The Vintage Collection.
Kind of surprised it hasn't been announced as a TVC release as well. Seems like the right time with the BoBF throne set on the way this year and being the 40th anniversary. They should have put out a TVC Jabba and Rancor IMHO.

Agreed on that too, we should have Jabba in both scales.

I'll also have to print out the throne base for this too. It'll be a nice touch.
