Had no idea if they would go third or first person but that honestly looks great and a lot more immersive than I was expecting. Can't wait to play this!

I was actually going to post in the gaming section until I noticed this was already being discussed here. My interest is slightly piqued as it might be fun to play in that world, unfortunately I do not own a Series X. Which is why I dislike Exclusives regardless of console. Maybe they'll be nice and port it over to PS5 in a couple years.

The trailer makes the game look like it could be fun though fairly typical looking mechanics, but it's still early and often they never quite live up.
I have to say they really captured younger Ford's likeness!
However, the description leads me to believe the inclusion of puzzle solving and using your gear to progress could make it more interesting than if it was a simple adventure shooter. It could very well be as much fun as the Tomb Raider games were!

Cautiously optimistic. Genuinely did not want first person perspective, but since it’s Indy I’ll have to grit my teeth and bear it.

The trailer has some janky moments, but overall MachineGames has a good track record.

I'll be taking that with a large grain of salt, but if it happens great! As then I'll be able to play it.
Also heard the same rumor for Starfield, which at first, I thought was good news but then I realized that game is simply too large for me.

Lots of rumours flying around about Xbox/Microsoft becoming more of a third party publisher which I personally think would be great news. Thankfully as a PC player I've been able to play their games day and date with their console release but yeah, the whole walled garden approach from platform holders really needs to change.

Starfield is great BTW haha!

I am looking forward to this. Indy games (I said Indy not Indie), don't come around often. The last game we had was Staff of Kings iirc. It wasn't bad...but it wasn't great either. I played the one on Wii which as you might expect was loaded with "Waggle" controls.

I think I was like most people because I was expecting a third-person action/adventure game. Honestly going first person could be a good change. It is very much the forte of Machine Games having played Wolfenstein the New Order, etc. The reason I am open-minded about first person is that it worked pretty well for Metroid Prime. You will still see Indy in third person during certain actions, etc.

I liked in the trailer how your whip can be used to cause distractions. I feel like we've had a ton of third-person action/adventure games with stealth elements. Notably Uncharted and Tomb Raider. If Indy came out in 3rd person, I am unsure how it would be received. Would it just be white noise? The franchise hasn't had the best IP care compared to Star Wars.

The only thing that drives me a bit crazy is they put the strap on the outside of his jacket...

Unfortunately, this will not be releasing on PS5. :(
It might... at some point. I think MS are trying to hedge their bets. They probably don't want to cannibalize sales of their hardware. But they did leave the door open to bringing it over at some point. If it doesn't sell to their expectations on Xbox? They can always release it elsewhere for an influx of fresh cash. The problem is they risk any kind of excitement/hype even if they do. I could see them bring it Nintendo's next system (depending on if it's capable enough). You don't need an Xbox. 2020 and newer Smart TV's can access Gamepass. So there is that option as well. You can only use Cloud with Ultimate iirc? But you could sign up for a 14 day free trial play the game and then cancel?
