Someone said that this colorscheme appeared onscreen. Does anyone actually have a screen grab to verify this?
It is my understanding the version glimpsed at the tail end of ROTS was essentially just grey like the Titanium version, not black and white like this toy's invented paint scheme.ReverendStrone said:There was no need for this invented EU black and white paint job. They should have just made this grey like the actual ships in ROTS, just like they did for the Titanium version. I'm sitting it out till they give us the grey version.
As ReverendStrone posted, the black n white version is not consistent with the Imperial V-Wing colourscheme seen at the end of ROTS. The V-wings seen at the end of ROTS are uniformly gray, and not Maroon n grey nor black n white.Cramer said:Weren't the ones at the end of RoTS b&w? Maybe not this particular pattern, but they weren't the maroon ones
You don't have to buy it and it's not like they've all hit at the one time. Good to hear it's showing up.phantomrs said:Apparently these are being found now.
the 4th repaint of this ship, enough is enough!
Isn't this only repaint #3? The 30th/TLC release is the same, the Clone Wars exclusive redeco for TRU is just the same without the dirt damage (I think, I still need to buy this one), and this one is the first one that's a significant redeco. (Not counting packaging variants, that is.)phantomrs said:Apparently these are being found now.

Nothing wrong with a great ship being in constant rotation like they were during the Vintage Years. Gives a new kid coming into the hobby a chance to get what they want.Adam16bit said:Isn't this only repaint #3? Yes, all those kids who successfully double their lemonade stand prices to keep up with the rising cost of each repaint.TheRealDubya said:Nothing wrong with a great ship being in constant rotation like they were during the Vintage Years. The only difference is the 30th anniversary one is dirty damaged scored, and the clone wars regular release has the same deco but factory fresh clean no damage no scoring. The outside of the box on the clone wars one shows a dirty damaged one on the back, however when you open it up, you get a SURPRISE!!! a factory fresh clean v-wing.Adam16bit said:Hey Phantomrs, can you share a pic? I was under the impression that the Clone Wars (blue box) V-Wing was identical to the TAC release, down to the dirt and grit. So I had it at...
- 2007 Release (30th Anniversary, dirty, deco #1, package #1)
- 2008 Release (Same toy deco as above, Clone Wars packaging, package #2)
- 2009 Release (TRU exclusive, clean, no damage/dirt, pilot included, deco #2, package #3)
- 2009 Release (TRU exclusive, Imperial deco, deco #3, package #4)
So I got four package variations but three product variations. But if you got a loose shot of the Clone Wars one, I wanna see.
As far as I knew none of the repackaged Legacy/Clone Wars vehicles in the regular, non-exclusive assortment had any intentional changes compared to the previous release.
Where did you see that? I will take a picture here soon. Also you can't refer to the photo archive one on rebelscum because they just used the pictures from the tac version for that, if that is the one you are referring to.Adam16bit said:So no pictures of the non-exclusive "factory fresh" one?
The only shots I've seen of the Clone Wars (non-exclusive one) out of the box have been dirty, same as the regular release.
Hasbro's official packaged/loose images for 2008-- and they *do* crack open new boxes to shoot the ships-- show the TAC V-Wing again. I'm not referring to Rebelscum's archives.phantomrs said:Where did you see that? I will take a picture here soon. good point, sorry, why doesn't curto fix it in the archives?501st_Commander said:phantomrs, you already talked about this with Curto in the proper thread, why fill this thread with more? If it's abot the 4th version i understand but it seems like this thread is starting to be a discussion about the other V-Wing.
Adam16bit, if you don't believe phantomrs go check out the original CW V-Wing thread, Curto isn't one easily fooled.![]()
I don't think he has it yet, I for one haven't seen it for a while.phantomrs said:good point, sorry, why doesn't curto fix it in the archives?501st_Commander said:phantomrs, you already talked about this with Curto in the proper thread, why fill this thread with more? Ye of little faithAdam16bit said:Hunh. Thanks for sharing, PhantomRS! I certainly didn't know about this version, I'd wager this is news to Curto too. Now I gotta try and track down a Blue-boxed one AND the other one I was putting off...
Hey, after writing about this stuff for 15 years, you can't believe every variation you hear about.phantomrs said:Ye of little faith![]()

On further review, Hasbro will eventually bring out the shadow version and I'll wait for that.Notorious_Boba said:I already own two of the TAC version. I'll buy one.

"He's no good to me dead."
The opening of the wings is accurate. The difference between closing of the wings when landing from toy to movie is the wings folds down when landing in ROTS.AgentClaret said:Okay, I've got to get this question off my back.
What is the deal with the wing modules on the V-wing? Why do they pop out? Is this an accurate feature or is it just for the toy? I noticed it tends to be back heavy with the wings in...
I've looked on Wikipedia and stuff but I can't find a thing on it! Someone help me!
As far as a made up EU paint job goes perhaps, but speaking for myself, I think it'd be nicer if it looked like the Imperial V-Wings did in the movie.Tigersith said:The paint scheme on this is just really nice as can be!
Is there a side-by-side-by-side comparison of all the V-Wing's somewhere? I cannot find one anywhere. As far as a made up EU paint job goes perhaps, but speaking for myself, I think it'd be nicer if it looked like the Imperial V-Wings did in the movie.I'm still waiting on that release before biting down on this vehicle.![]()
