A few more images of the TRU Exclusive Imperial V-Wing Starfighter have popped up on ebay, here are some boxed pictures...

What's everyone think about the new imperial V-Wing Starfighter? Who's going to be picking it up?

Some of these fake shops on eBay are ridiculous, oh i can't buy this from Hasbro or a distributor so I'll go to Toys R Us to buy it at retail price and try and sell it at an even higher price and pay 80% of the profit margin to eBay and PayPal.

I'll get it from Toys R Us where I will save money compared to these eBay scalpers and their fake shops.

Looks better than the red one! Never picked up a V-Wing. Not sure about this one. Not a huge fan of the design, but the color could sway me.

Why couldn't they make it look more like the Titanium version? If it weren't for the Imperial symbols, I wouldn't be able to tell that it was even a Imperial V-Wing.

Thanks for posting this! Didn't even know one was in the pipeline.

It's Imperial, so I gotta get two. And I may repaint the astromechs to Imperial Fleet Black. Otherwise: sweeeeeeeet.

I see hasbro has found another way to make money off people, Imperial colors. Next thing you know there will be an Imperial Gunship, Imperial AT-AP, Imperial AT-RT, Imperial AT-TE, ext ext.

I don't own a V-Wing yet, but while I don't intend to buy one any time soon, if/when that time comes around, I may seek this one out.

I'm surprised they are doing another V-Wing exclusive so soon. Can't imagine the current one is a big seller given the $39.99 price point. Wonder if this will be substantially cheaper given it doesn't include a pilot.

Cool looking paint job however it's not worth the TRU Exclusive Price especially without a Pilot, it should have been just a running change in the basic vehicle assortment!

F***! TRU EXCLUSIVE!?!

UGH. Well, I do want this, but UGHH. I'll pick this up over the ARC, but if its $30+, I'm pissed.

I already have the first version so I'll be passing on this one. It does look alright though for a repaint.

Was a non-red/white one even in the movie?
Yes. There were a few gray ones flying around during the scene where the Death Star is revealed.

Wasn't there also some escorting Palpatine and Vader back to Coruscant?

That's a bit extreme, isn't it? You could just not buy it.

GNT...don't be mad...just edit it....(wiping away tears)

I have one V Wing...but I would only buy if it is the same price as the regular single ships.

If it's $5 more (maybe If I have a coupon) or $10 = pass for me. Obi Wan Starfighter with Hyperspace ring anyone?

I'm sort of annoyed they didn't paint the Q7 in the Imperial scheme. That's like a bullseye on your fighter when the rest of your ship is gray and black.

And then, on top of that, it's not really the definitive Imperial Version, because its black instead of gray. And then you can only get it at your local (maybe?) TRU. Curse you Hasbro.

Looks nice. It won't be at the top of my list, but I'll get one later down the line. May be they'll show one out of the box at SDCC.

With the ARC first and now this, I can totally see them doing this to the Gunship as well. I think I am bowing out for the first time. I just don't have the space or funds to recollect all these ships again in an imperializized format.

As long as it's not over $30, I'll get it. Remember, TRU's standard vehicles are $24.99.

I have the very first one, from TAC. I have not bothered with the re-packs since, or with the TRU-excl. CW version with the Clone Pilot. This version is different enough for me.

I just had a thought the other day - what if these shadow vehicles are intended to appear in the Live Action Series, and LFL have given Hasbro permission to release them without revealing they are acually in the series. After all there is the half-constructed Death Star in the background, and it does seem odd for Hasbro to release two Shadow vehicles out of the blue at around the same time. Just a thought anyway.

As for me I won't be picking this one up - not interesting enough to warrent a purchase. I'm not really into the flying full-scale vehicles anymore.

Umm, not really. It's probably something their throwing out there with CW packaging to try and get kids interested in TLC.

Just my guess though.

Yeah thats a fair assumption. However I still think it is odd for them to do two relativly self-made designs (I know there were Imperial V-Wings in Revenge of the Sith but they had different paint apps.) at relativly the same time. But I guess it is Hasbro so anything is possible.

Initially, I wasn't all that impressed with this repaint.

I already own the ROTS red and gray version, so an Imperial repaint didn't look all that enticing...

...But, I've since changed my tune, and would have to admit that I quite like this repaint now - infact I prefer the black and gray colourscheme over the Titanium version colourscheme.

As much as I hate to admit it, I'm actually looking forward to this particular repaint, and will probably invest in it, once it hits shelves...

PS: it's also worth noting that the Imperial V-Wing, as seen on the box, actually shows the vanes protruding further out from the body of the starfighter, which is interesting considering that the regular V-Wing has these vanes closer to the body of the starfighter. The vanes out position is to prevent the fins from flicking open, if the rear engine button is pressed. Overall, the vanes-out positioning of the fins/panels gives the Imperial V-Wing more of a TIE appearance, which is interesting, IMO... This could be deliberate, or simply box art and photo of the vanes out version positioned inaccurately...

I personally like the vanes out look - other the V-Wings radials seem to close to the fuselage giving it a narrow appearance.

Just my musings...
