I completely agree and found myself in a similar situation of opening my first hovertank about a week or so ago. The detail is amazing (especially with the kyber crystal cannisters), and I sure was pleasantly surprised to find that the treads move.I haven't been out looking for new stuff in weeks (laid off/Stay Home order), so getting to open things that have been building up since last Fall. The Hovertank was one of these things sitting in a tote waiting to be opened up. It's great, wish I had the time to do this earlier on.
I picked up a couple extra on steep discount for $10-20 each just for the canisters. This thing reminds me of old school ARAH GIJoe vehicles. The detail and included accessories provide so much play value. I want to pick up a second now. Personally I see it more as a Rebel vehicle than Imperial though.
Im actually considering repainting a Republic tank in a heavy wash and giving it Rebel markings and displaying it against 2 of these. The detail and included accessories provide so much play value. I want to pick up a second now. Personally I see it more as a Rebel vehicle than Imperial though.
Thanks! They are indeed hard to find. I have both carded but for my tank set up i use the Jedha Revolt driver 5POA doesn't matter cause all you see is his head, for the Commander i landed lucky on a second TVC Tank driver and just painted on the Commanders paint deco.Gorgeous setup. A shame tank driver and commander are so hard to come by. Still on the look out for a commander myself to finish up my display.
I would have bought a couple more just for the kyber crystal crates. I wouold have made one set where all three containers open.I remember looking at every local 5 Below in my area and never saw it,, would have picked up another one or two even tho I have a whole fleet already lol
Having been a M1-A1 crewman it immediately stood out to me that it didn’t. That peg on the commander’s hatch ring
Yeah, seems more like an armored transport than a tank. Even then it's more of a flat bed hauler than an armored transport with no top to the cargo area. I think Hasbro just named it completely wrong.
It is basically an Imperial deuce & a 1/2. Drops off cargo, ammo, or dinner & then brings troops back to rinse out their armor (I speak from experience). As for a large cannon, The POTF E-Web blaster is one of the first things I played around with. The cannons from the Solo play sets & double packs too.Anyhoo, yeah an armored transport is fine if a bit "open", the transport itself seems armored enough but not the people traveling on the back! lol It fits more within a "cargo hauler" type of craft than anything.
i was just noticing that for the low price people could go crazy and create a few alternate versions is all, and I think one that has large cannon fits into the role of armed escort for the unarmed craft. The cannon doesn't have to be the size of the one on AT-TE, but perhaps a slightly larger version of the E-Web Blaster.
