You might want to check out this TOMY INC Diecast USS Star Trek Enterprise model in 1/350 scale for $699 USA + $50 USA shipping

https://tomyplus.tomy.com/startrek2024

15th Sep 2024 is deadline for PO Order. They have collected 273% of what is needed to fund the project. Just under 4 Million US dollars and counting.

Of course I ordered mine today. I will then think how much of a Star Trek fan I am once I have it in my hands. Seems that for Canadians, there won’t be any taxes and it will ship from the Canadian warehouse of TOMY INC.

So at $1016 CAD landed at my door, I can always resell it easily if for any reason I don’t want it.

The Enterprise Refit is my favorite version of the Enterprise. I do love this but I wish there was a way for them to figure out how to eliminate the two rods that support the saucer section. They bother me quite a bit.

Having said that, I'm still on the fence about preordering one.

I know me too, but they said in the video with Adam Savage, that the rods are required to hold the saucer because otherwise the stress is huge on the neck.

That base is not the final version, it will be upgraded......I'm sure Tomy guys heard what people said about the TOS model and they won't make the same "mistakes" with that one !!!

They said the base will be Diecast and not plastic to give it weight. So that is a good thing. For some reason the original Enterprise from the 70s never did anything for me, so glad I never bought the Master Replicas or the one from TOMY INC.

But this one is very different.

I'm not a Trekkie and I ordered it......I missed the TOS Enterprise and I wouldn't miss that one : the Star Trek Enterprise is an iconic ship and that Refit version is the prefered amongst Trek lovers !!! As a collector I had to have it......lol

Me too, I am a 99.99% Star Wars fan, but I just had to have this ship.

Take my money 💰 TOMY!

I think the original TOS Enterprise model was made in 1965

I ordered 3. I also ordered 3 of the original Tony 1701s as well but did not take delivery of them as they were so far off the mark of what was promised. The screw hole covers, ridiculous stand, craptastic shuttles, fitment issues, paint chip and paint glob issues and electronic technical issues plaqued the run with gaps and seams made that decision easy for me. However this run will be different as they learned a lot since the issue of the original 1701. This run is AC powered they are hiding the screw holes in design and appear to have the Aztec painting covered. What sells me on the refit although is there is nothing out there in this scale. I have the MR SE Enterprise I bought secondary market so again the decision was easy on letting the original Tomy 1701s go. However the original Tony model fills a gap in lot of folks collection as The MR Enterprise price point is a little harsh for most collections. I respect that but bluntly the first model was just not for me. Hindsight always being 20/20 I probably should have taken delivery and sold secondary market and done exceptionally well…., GC

So why 3, planing on flipping already some? lol

How wonderful to be able to share your hobby with them. I'm genuinely envious. (In a good way, though.)

We just surpassed the $4 Million! Incredible support for this project!

6 Days to go for the end of the PO!

Alas, one of the problems of being a focus collector is that i tend to sit on things and weigh up whether i want to break that focus. Unfortunately, I was too hesitant on this and missed out.

FFS. No shipping options for the UK. Well bum!
But they have an option they posted for forwarding to customers in UK. I have seen it many times when people ask. I will try find it. It’s on their website under FAQ.

Found it. Now you can get it. I guess parcel forwarder would work that they ship it to say UPS in USA or CAD and then you instruct/pay UPS to send it to you. Problem solved.

TOMY Inc has a 1-800 number you can call, because email might not get responded in time before the PO expires. I was on the phone with them a week ago, excellent customer service, They called me back in 10 mins with the info I had asked.

Look they even have a division in UK with a local phone number in case you want to find out more about parcel forwarding!

And the contact number in USA customer service in case you have questions to ask them there, in the last screen shot.

One more thing, they mentioned about an extension of 16hrs after the deadline is met.

Good luck mate!

15 more hours to go! Over 4.5 million dollars! Incredible, funded 327%!
I am not surprised as there is nothing in the refit Enterprise in this scale. UNLESS you have deep pockets and can afford the Factory Entertainment offerings or the old school QMX offerings when they were available.

Oh man, the QMX Enterprises were soooo expensive! I think they were like $15k but I can't recall.

Factory Entertainment also started at 15K USA for Star Trek ships! IF you are a die hard fan and IF it’s the only model that you will collect then maybe 15K isn’t that bad. But for someone like me, a collector in everything that’s cool and over 20 hobbies, not worth spending more than 1K, like the TOMY Inc USS Enterprise model 1/350, as an item just to have out of curiosity.

Just wanted to pop by and say that the refit seems to be coming along really nicely. It’s pushed back a month to make sure it’s as good as possible, but it’s amazing what they’ve been able to do at this price point, especially the paint. The original studio model paint job was probably one of the most complex ones ever, and this piece has done a great job approximating it.

Yep it’s looking better than the last go around and there is a D7 Klingon ship up for reporter next in a few more days as well

Thanks a lot for the images. I got their email and don’t mind the delay at all. Gorgeous.

Of course! This is a holy grail item for me lol. I have the art asylum ship, and briefly considered commissioning a kit build but the cost would entail some divorce papers from the torpedo tube :)

Amazing that Tomy has been able to hit a sweet spot
