The Princess head sculpt looks nice... but the material used for her outfit still doesn't really replicate the flowy/stretchy/draping-Lycra type of look it has from the movie....

^^Agreed. Looks too light and needs a little weight to it while staying thin. Tough material to perfect I'm sure. Pretty happy with the head sculpt though.

Never really loved the SSC ANH Leia, even though I have it. This looks so much better. Glad it is re-done by HT. Looks like a smaller, pose-able version of the PF which I do like a lot.

I think SSC days of human characters is over, they can stick to armors and creatures. But HT should do the humans. Now we need a Dooku. Hear that HT? Dooku!

I've been avoiding the HT Star Wars figures so far, but may have to give in on this one. I'd also like to have Leia in the Hoth outfit as well as the Bikini.

And thankfully she doesn't have that zombie expression on most of HT's previous female sculpts.

The Carrie Fisher likeness looks spot on. The only thing that bugs me is the thick fabric of the dress. It's too bad they couldn't make it out of silk or something softer that would lay more naturally over the body.

I really hope they tackle Hoth Leia and Slave Leia sooner rather than later, because clearly Sideshow is never going to bother with them. A Padme from the movies (not just Snowbunny Padme) would be nice too.

Fisher likeness is definitely there. Only problem is they went overboard with the skin texture. Carrie had very smooth skin in ANH, but they gave her the complexion of a grizzled, 60-yr old prospector. Hope they smooth it out before release.

I'm also glad they sculpted her hair rather than making it rooted. Definitely the best most realistic way to go with this hairstyle.

I'm loving the Rebelscum shots of this figure. Looks to be Hot Toys' first clear-cut winner as far as the Star Wars human head sculpts go. I'm thinking the skin texture will be fine at normal viewing distance--on my computer that shot is probably 5 times the size of the actual sculpt. I think they overdo it on young characters to make it look more human, but probably will look great.

Give HT the human sculpt figures and SSC the armor figures. This is probably better sculpt than Alex Guiness Obiwan. I would say of releases thus far, Leia ANH, Obiwan, Luke Farmboy, Han, then Chewie. I already ordered the Han and Chewie, now I think I will get this, but then what do I do with Luke... ugh... ARGH !!!!

Wow! Just wow! Hot Toys will ahve my £s for sure. I'm in for Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, Vader and Obi Wan. I may have to sell of my 3 3/4 scale to fund this though. I can't see how they can improve on these figures - especially the likes of Ibi Wan and Leia. These look rather future proof to me. What do you think?

I am a big fan of this Leia sculpt and will likely be ordering this one. The Han improvement may have just crossed the line to get me to bite. The Luke is not quite there yet, as the SSC X-Wing Luke is still the best likeness.

Yeah, unless they start making figures that smell like people. I'd like to smell Princess Leia... :)

The Alec Guiness and Carrie Fisher are pretty dead on. Mark Hamill is pretty close, but Harrison Ford definitely can be improved. Chewie.. fingers crossed is all I can say. Vader, I'm happy enough with my SSC 2nd ESB/ROTJ version.

I'm doing just that right now. Don't have space for both at my current place. I'll always have a place for 3 3/4", but for right now these are taking precedence for display and it only seems prudent to balance out the costs of these.

Updating the original post with the fantastic rebelscum shots.

The only reason I was holding back on Luke was due to the hair colour but it's lighter than I thought it'd be. I love it.

I think Vader, once it's done right you don't need another. Plus, i can only see the prices of any future figures increasing alot!

At sixth scale, the fabric is not likely to drape the way a full scale garment would. All down to weight and gravity, sadly. It's virtually unaffected by gravity at this scale.
Perhaps HT should employ an old dress-makers trick of sewing coins into the hems (miniature at this scale) to weight the hemline and sleeves down.
This was also used in curtains to keep them hanging straight. In skirts and dresses it would stop them being blown up in windy weather, fyi.

Love the fact they sculpted Leia's hair, looks fantastic and still will in years to come!

Looks like this is going up for pre-order soon. Can't wait, headsculpt is incredible. Posted on HT Facebook page.

The figure is pure win!!! But I'm waiting for the specs on the Boba and the years rest of reveals. If there's going to be a Sandtrooper variant, that takes preference for me.

Sure buy for me. Female characters are far too scarce at that scale not to jump on her. Hopefully, HT will show more determination than Sideshow in putting female Star Wars characters on the market. Rey is a given but i wouldn't mind some PT Padmé incarnations and possible a few Jedi knights.

Not many accessories, so I would like to think it comes in cheaper than some of the recent HT SW releases.

Agree on that. However, what else could have she came with?

Death Star plans?
Handcuffs?
Trash compactor rusty pipe?
Yelling at Han alternative portrait?

Wow, the trash compactor pipe would actually be awesome. All those would be good, you should email your suggestions to HT. :) They could have saved the interrogation droid for her instead of Vader, though it'd be funny to have an accessory that was used to torture the character.

"A special edition is available in selected markets which include a specially designed backdrop as bonus accessory."

That probably means no chance of it being in the UK, like the Stormtrooper belt with Luke. Europe got shafted on that.

How about this as the "Ultimate SW ANH Leia":

All those extras already hoped for: Death Star plans, handcuffs, trash compactor pipe - plus:

A ceremonial headsculpt + hairsculpt with alternate dress and a couple of medals for Luke + Han.

I wonder what the backdrop will look like. The photos so far just show a generic black background, but I assume it will be a scene setting. Maybe the Tantive IV room she was hiding in, or the Death Star detention block corridor. Hmmm....

I suspect the backdrop might very well be the Tantive IV as there's no pictures so far of her with the hood on, hopefully the backdrop will have sculpted detail, not just a photograph.

Looks outstanding! I was already in, but wow... I cannot wait for this to come out. I was never a fan of the SSC version, which I can now sell if I want to.

Looks Amazing. Finally a great Leia figure I can add to my collection. Best SW likeness to date so far.
