MARVEL LEGENDS ARE BACK!

Hasbro is starting from scratch and I'm very impressed on their rebirth of these figures. From what i've seen the yare quite impressive (and this is coming from the guy who spit acid all over hasbro whe nit came to ML's) Thor, Steve Rodgers, and Terrax look amazing, Hope is also very well done. Ghost Rider is... interesting. Iron Man and Constrictor are kinda meh then again it's cool to see a 6 inch Constrictor

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

I love that ML is coming back. Is it just me, or does that Extremis Iron Man look to short compared to Constrictor or Captain Rogers? It could be the angle or the leg stance but he looks short.

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

I'm happy about ML coming back. I haven't really gotten too into the MU stuff. Nice figures, but kind of expensive, plus the poor distribution and lack of characters/outfits I actually liked made me drag my feet on the MU line. I always felt I was getting more of a deal with ML. I'll probably get Klaw, Constrictor, and maybe Steve Rogers. I actually need to go back and pick up some of the last Hasbro ML, like the WM and Target exclusive waves.

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

hopefully Hasbro dosen't try to compete with Mattel and make Marvel Legends $15. Did they say they were going include comic in the Marvel Legends?, I ask because the MU comic packs are doing the same thing

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

Honestly, with the prices of everything nowadays, $15 for a 6-7" ML figure and a BAF piece sounds about right. Adding a comic reprint will jack it up another $1-2, so I think I can do without the comic.

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

I'm passing on the SDCC exclusive Thor; I'll just hope that I can find a Legends Wave 1 Thor with really good paint

I already have the Marvel Select one, and he's really nice. Otherwise, from Wave 1, only Captain Rogers and Hope Summers really interest me, but I might go for Constrictor as he looked AWESOME a year or two ago when he was on display/pictured as a "hey, we'd like to make these guys as 2-packs--vote for 'em!" candidate. Klaw & Ghost Rider are the weak links for me. Wave 2, Bucky-Cap definitely. Not sure about the rest, tho if I ever decide to track down that Marvel Select Thanos, Drax would become a 'must'. Then I could have Thanos, Adam Warlock, and Drax all fighting on a shelf!

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

yeah I did/do kind of want Steve for my cap shelf but that's it in the forseeable future.

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

I just want a decent 6" Wolverine!! I've been trying to get that brown suit one from the the Toybiz ML line for a long time now, but every genius on eBay wants a million bucks for it!!
mad.gif

Same thing with Face Off Cap.. I'm just about to give up, so hopefully Hasbro releases these guys - as in a classic brown suit Wolverine & classic Cap, & I'll be eternally grateful.

I've been wanting that Face-Off Cap since it came out, such a beautiful figure, but like everyone else like me who thinks something looks cool it suddenly becomes insanely expensive

I hope Hasbro can prove me wrong and make good figures

Fool me once Hasbro...

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

I regret not buying up the hundreds of face off caps I saw at walmart. I still have mine though...great figure

I'm almost the complete opposite. I started getting into ML right before hasbro took the license, and I was really excited to get Astonishing Cyclops. When I opened him though, the joints were really tight, almost to the point where it seemed like the molds weren't the correct pieces. And his ankle wouldn't move because there was a bunch of glue still in it for some reason.Their character selection didn't really do it for me either. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and grab what catches my eye. So far, it's only Big Time Spidey from wave 2, and that's a maybe. I have the sneaking feeling these will have the same distribution problems MU has. I hope not, because I'd love to see both lines do great, and Steve Rogers, Constrictor, and Hope look great. Time will tell.

That's not Wolverine, it's Daken (his son) in his Dark Wolverine costume from his time with Osborn's Dark Avengers team. Note the lack of a third claw.

then where are the claws that are supposed to be coming out of his wrists?

If the guy above your post don't want it, I'll offer my FO Cap to you as well. Cool?

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

no thank you, Marvel Select is coming out with a Cap, I think i'll be fine thanks for asking tough

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

Is the ML Brown Wolverine really expensive on eBay? Damn...that one lingered around on the pegs for a while near me. It was one of the best ML, I think. Face Off Cap was great too, but for some stupid reason I never picked him up. Kept putting it off. The KB Toy Works I used to go to had a ton of Face Off packs marked down and I kept passing them by.

As for distribution problems with the ML ala MU, I hate to say it, but you could be right. Even back then, certain Toy Biz ML waves were a bit scarce, when others were way in abundance. I was finding that Blackheart wave around forever. The first Hasbro wave was also all over the place, but the next few waves I hardly saw.

He doesn't have them anymore. Logan "removed" them in the comics awhile back after Daken got them coated with metal from some sword. Long story. But he only has the basic 2 claws on top now. Plus, they actually said it was Daken in the Dark Wolverine costume during the coverage of the Hasbro panel.

ah, I never read Dakken's story so I wouldn't have known

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

I'm glad they ditched the 3rd claw for Daken... it looked ridiculous in pretty much every image I saw, and in the MU comic pack figure (I never bought one--paint was bad on him or Venom in every one I saw--but I'd have removed the 3rd claws if I had).

Always hated the idea that Daken, or X-23--relatives of Logan--would have two claws on their hands and then the 3rd claw would be somewhere 'new and unique'! CUZ IT'S COOL! WOOO! Under the wrist where it's more of a liability! Out from between the toes, because we love Spidey-villain La Tarantula and his boot-spikes! Wheee!

Blech. I like how Ultimate X handled his son--he's got 3 on the back of his hand, just like his old man. 2 would've been fine as well... so long as they're kept where they belong and make the most (for a comic character) sense.

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

Has anyone published any off-panel conversations with Marvel people yet?

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

Hey all,

Not sure if it's 'OK' to post this here, but I am looking into getting into Marvel Legends (6") figures. However, these figures are going for premiums on the 'net. Naturally, I was hesitant to leap in at high prices. I know about the relaunch, but I have also heard that the ToyBiz Legends are superior, which makes me think I should brave the premium for better figures. My question to you is should I:
- Purchase ML figures online at a premium (If so, which figures?)
- Wait for the relaunch
OR
-Move straight into MU and forget about Legends.

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

I don't know about the Toy Biz Legends being superior; certainly Hasbro's efforts early on were weak, but they were also supposedly from Toy Biz molds! Stuff got a LOT better toward the end. With some exceptions (Wolverine/Forge 2-pack). The new Hasbro Legends look fantastic; I'll take them over some of the wonky sculpting, detailing, and odd articulation of a lot of the Toy Biz offerings (some were great, tho; I still love the Colossus they did, but as much as I wanted the Deadpool they made, looking at the photo archive of him on CTR, he looks really weird at the shoulders especially)

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

It might depend on which figures you're after. For certain figures (example - Pyro, Lady Deathstrike, X 23, Phoenix) you might have to wait a while for hasbro to make them. For others (hulk, wolverine, captain america) you've got options from both companies. Again, depending on who specifically you're after, toy biz had a few different Spider-Man and X-Men lines before/during their Marvel Legends run. For the most part, those are Legends figures in a different package.

Re: \"New\" Hasbro Marvel Legends

I glad MLs are back!!! They should never have left, IMO.

Thus far, Hasbro's lineup looks good - sign me up for the new BAF wave, and beyond...!!!!

Wow...that packaging is kinda ugly. Looks very mid '90s (not that I really care, I open them anyway). Klaw and Constrictor are definite buys for me, and maybe Steve Rogers.
