Oh, son of a... why? Why this version first? Whatever. Hopefully not all the faces are painted that badly. And if we're getting an alt costume version, maybe that means we'll get his normal outfit later in the year. That would give the line legs, at least.

I like him. I'd also prefer if they'd gone with his 'standard' appearance first. But yeah, all three are as good as on my shelf.

I like that Hasbro shook this release up a little! Sort of like they did for ESB by releasing Han Hoth before Han Bespin?! I think the figure looks AWESOME (the face paint will certainly look better on the finished product) and reminds me a little of the TVC "Hoth Mechanic" release a few years back. Great to see these and kudos to our new Santa Claus, steffeblaba! Great reporting!

Honestly, I'm happy to see the line is continuing. I buy every Han, and i'll be happy to add this one too. I didn't mean to sound so negative about it.

Fix the brown hair already Hasbro! LOL But I love this figure! Kind of bummed we didn't see his main outfit first, but it is exciting to see a new outfit in this line first! Definite buy!

I can see what they're doing though by releasing this outfit first. The 5POA version of his main outfit would basically never sell if the SA version was out at the same time.

it's so frustrating that the hair is totally wrong again. I wasn't too concerned about the regular costume one, cos I know that will be released again. But this one is a different matter. I wish they would figure out that Hans hair is VERY grey.

Frustrating but so glad we're getting him in 3.75 SA form. Not gonna bother with a hair repaint but i guess it's doable with little effort.

Oh, son of a... why? Why this version first? Whatever.

They're all going to get made eventually and people are going to buy both regular and Star Killer versions regardless of which comes out first.

Their refusal to give him is proper hair color is a bit baffling. My inference is that they're operating under the assumption that old people don't sell figures? Maybe? You can be sure that they will do the hair color right at some point. After all of these have sold through.

I'm sure these are real. The paint on Phasma's mouth not connecting to her eye lenses (just like the BS F.O. Stormtrooper) and Han's hair being brown are two simple paint apps that no customizer who made complex figures like these would mess up on. Hasbro absolutely would, and has, apparently.

Word of warning, these may be bootlegs. That's the rumor going around now.

HOW can these Ben bootlegs? Take a look at the figures. Then go find the BEST Bootleg Star Wars figure available. Compare the nature of the bootleg figure to these figures. Beyond the Internet paranoia, what reason do you have to believe these may be bootlegs"?

Before you say it, I know you're going to say "hey man chill out i didn't say these were bootlegs, just that's the rumor and to be careful". But that's a cop out, because there's NO reason to think these are bootlegs other than that rumor itself. It isn't like you can say "well this and this and this points to these being bootlegs even though they may not be". You're just posting these "may be bootlegs" for the sake of posting they may be bootlegs. By this reasoning one could post;

"Be careful, there's a rumor that these are actually made of chocolate"

Not entirely sure these are customs, they could be, but the "code names" used last Fall as placeholders for these figures on Walmart's site seem to match up to the figures now revealed:

"Sidekick Battler Blue" - Han Solo. Another TFA Han Solo figure had a similar codename, something like "Sidekick Battler Brown" to indicate the color of the jacket he wears. So this one being Han in his blue jacket makes sense.

"Villain Trooper Commander" - Phasma. Easy enough.

"Secondary Hero Fighter" - Leia. "Hero Fighter" meaning Leia, "secondary" referring to her other (ie. non-Resistance/military-esque) outfit seen in the film.

The Han and Leia are very odd choices, considering Hasbro claims that higher-articulated figures cost more to tool and produce and that the Black Series is now a "collector friendly" line. I'm sure most of us are wondering why they'd tool up versions of Han and Leia in outfits that have about ten seconds or so of total screen time when they could make them in their primary outfits and be guaranteed to not only sell but find many collectors buying multiples of each (myself included).

But hey, it's 2016 and it's Hasbro so this shouldn't really be too surprising I guess :p

My guess is that they've got Leia in her commander outfit coming in the 5 POA line, and with the standard 5 POA Han already in stores, they just wanted to offer something different. I don't necessarily agree with that line of thinking for outfits with minimal screen time, but what can you do?

I like the looks of the figure. But I can't help feel it's been done before, specifically Hoth Han. I mean here we have a brand new movie, and both outfits seem like exact replicas of the first. I was hoping to see Han in some sort of new outfit for a change.

Plus, did we ever "really'' see him wear this on screen? I can't remember. It's kind of funny then we're getting two figures of look that lasted seconds, rather than what they wore 90% of the time.

Head sculpt looks great, but wrong hair color, inaccurate Ford brows, and the eyes are once again painted too large, which is a big problem with Hasbro these days.

That might not be a bad theory. Look how badly even SA Finn has been pegwarming, there's tons of Finns, 5POA and SA all over the place. And look at the bright side, they're getting the "handful of seconds screen time character costume variant" figures out of the way first so they can make a killing later when they release the main outfit version;-)

Given how skimpy the Black Series line is, I just cannot imagine we'll actually get both versions.

I'm sure Hasbro is reluctant to release two versions of the exact same figure, especially when one version would be demonstrably far superior.

So this is...better than nothing, I guess....

This makes the most sense.

I have no Wal Marts in my area so I can't comment on the SA version. But I've seen 5POA Finn on the shelves exactly twice.

I can't find anything to complain about here. Main character in a cool outfit. Sign me up.

Sadly, I think the odds of getting a minor character in the Black Series when he/she has already been released in the standard line are slim to none.

I am happy they are making this version at all. Granted I would rather have the other Han in the jacket, but I will take it. I just wish they would get rid of the boxes and use cardbacks. But then they would charge $20.

This figure looks great but why on earth did they paint his hair brown? They messed that up on the 5POA too but at least they added some gray in. This is a step in the wrong direction...

Its really annoying, they seem to have a weird thing about his hair. But its so pivotal to the look of the character that its a real deal breaker.

Its a lot like this figure.

I was thinking the same Thing. After that figure came out, a lot of People questioned why Hasbro went with that Han and not the Bespin Han that everybod wanted then. So, if TVC is coming back, Hasbro might have decided to make sure the regular Han would be saved for TVC.

I'm with everyone else here. Did Hasbro watch the movie? They realized Leia changed a bit in the last 30 years, why not Han too?

Could it be, that Hasbro feels that an 80 year old character wouldn't appeal to kids? So they darkened his hair to make it seem he's only 45ish.
