I'm just curious if some vintage figs came with at least 1 filled peg hole.

I just got a Han Hoth fig and the peg hole at the bottom of his left foot is filled.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Javi. Good to know. This Han is HK.

Of the 50 or so loose vintage figs I've come across (as a collector) this is the first with a filled peg hole.

I'm guessing but could it just be a foot that has been over sprayed and the foot hole set solid? ( I don't know if that is possible with the paint used by Kenner). I would ask you to check if it is hollow but it's a cool error figure so I would not recommend probing with a pin. In any case interesting figure.

I have an OH Luke Farmboy ("Aussie" version) that has a filled in peg hole on the left leg. I think most of these are just random errors with the exception of the previously mentioned Ledy Stormie.

This 'variation' is almost certainly a manufacturing defect.

The die that made this figure would have a spindle near the foot the plastic would form around, creating the foot peg. When I was making auto parts, this spindle was called a 'core'. Not sure if the same terminology is used in toy manufacturing.

Anyway, those spindles are subjected to a lot of heating and cooling, and being so thin and long, are prone to breaking off regularly. When one breaks off, the hole can no longer be made, and you have a 'filled in' foot peg. It's probably a minor enough defect that Kenner would not trash those made with it, but would simply replace the broken part and continue.

I hope that explains it. If anyone has an alternate suggestion, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks, jedi, it is a solid fill.
Good theories and what Ian said is totally possible.

Good to know I might have a minor 'variant'.

I would rather call it a production error than a variation. Still a funny little thing.
