Greedo who was recently released in the Cantina Playset is returning to the mainline with a new card back:

Who’s purchasing this release?

Already have him with my Cantina so don’t need another one. Happy for the ones who missed out though.

I’m actually happy Greedo isn’t getting locked behind some multipack for his O96 release. As far back as the POTF2 days, Greedo has struggled at mainline retail. I still remember getting my VTSC Greedo for half price, so Fan Chanel was the way to go.

I might get him at some point. I’m not sure yet. If there’s some type of deal/discount, I’ll probably bite.

Nice to "Officially" check him off the 96 list, but this one is a pass for me.

new Greedo looks great. but im still keeping my old OTC or Saga Collection 2 Vintage style greedo. might give my old greedo the newer plastic vest to see how he looks with it

Getting a few - one for the vestless other cordial in the cantina and another Jabba’s palace

I'll get one for more Mos Eisley fodder, and keep my cantina one carded. I just think he's fun, and always those memories of opening my original one waaaay back (1979? 1980?)... and immediately losing his blaster once I opened (I opened him outside the house)!

If that is directed at me, I’d never seriously suggest making any figure deluxe.

Nah, it's directed at GNT's question: "Who's purchasing this release?" My frickin' avatar. I'll need at LEAST five Greedoes. (Greedos? Greedi?)

Deluxe Greedo, though? If they find a way to do it, I'll buy it. Better yet, pack him with an open Hoth Rebel gilet in orange, sell him as Beedo, and I'll get buttloads.

thought about this just to keep my cantina greedo carded...but since my wife bought a haslab greedo a few months back, i dont really need to keep mine carded...she claims she does want to open the one she bought since it case in a starcase

I thought their rule was things can be rereleased 3 years after a HasLab?

If I knew they were going to start reissuing these almost immediately wouldn't have opened my Cantina Greedo.

Honestly, it's nice to see but feels too soon. I am glad for it though because every time I think about opening HasLab Greedo I'm hit with a bad feeling, like I don't want to tear into something so pristine and exclusive etc. That said, I'm not exactly in a huge hurry for it as I've still not found a suitable place for the cantina set up.

When was that a rule lol?

Rules for action figure releases... :ROFLMAO:

It must be different rules for different lines. It was announced by the GI Joe Classified team that after 3 years things would be fair game for the normies, but they'd have to be slightly different from the HasLab version.

At least we now know there's no point in getting a TVC HasLab just for the figures if they'll be reissued within months.

Rules are at Hasbro's whims, they only infer some type of window or Exclusivity until they deem is worth the squeeze for double dip. Which is any time after the HasLab has funded. lol

And I'm fine with that frankly. I don't know how others view it or if it stops people from backing them, we'll have to wait and see.

I've known from day one of HasLab reveal Greedo was coming to the main line, which is why I was adamant he shouldn't have been part of it. I've always felt that HasLab ties that carry a high paywall should be the most obscure of choices that would never survive retail, and not be on most people radar that way when it doesn't fund we don't miss anyhting. It's simply a nice treat.

This also goes for Agen Kolar from the LAAT/I, I suspect we'll also see some form of reissue of him following the arrival of that item.

They had said the unlocked figures would get separate releases at some point. I don’t think the three year rule applies to that as much as it would the Haslab itself.

My understanding was that the HasLab Greedo and Nabrun Leids were going to get a mainline release. As a variant MOC collector it suits me fine that Greedo will get a re-release this quick as I can open the mainline one. I expect them to do the same with Nabrun and hope that's sooner rather than later.

The weirder aspect to this is that Greedo was a tiered figure which could have remained locked. Can you imagine a Cantina without a Greedo and Hasbro facing the dilemma of not being able to release him in the mainline (at least for the forseeable future).

^that last point, imho was why I felt Greedo should not been a tier or at least not 1st teir if he was on the plans for a reissue so soon. So I'm now kinda thinking all 3 tiers were in the plans somewhere, and being a reached tier was a mere early-bird bonus., kinda like Sears offered early bird bonus sets back in the day...
