According to the Flyguy website Greedo will be released in either wave 2 or 3 of the 6" Black Series. It's not a site I'm aware of so take it as a grain of salt.

Here's his details:

Star Wars Episode 4 Greedo 6" Action Figure UPC:653569898269

If Greedo is coming, what does everyone want to see?

I'd basically like to see this, sans the soft goods:

I'm pretty excited for this figure. I really just want to see an amazing sculpt and accurate details. I don't expect them to go crazy on the accessories, just a blaster and maybe a removable vest. No tables or chairs or glasses or anything like that.

They'll probably toss in a glass. Maybe they can include another vest with a blast shot.

This seems pretty unlikely to me. There's a reason Greedo isn't on any of the posters.

I don't understand your post.

He's suggesting that Greedo isn't important enough of a character to be made in this line. I'm guessing he thinks that only characters who appeared on a film poster will be considered "worthy" of being made in the 6" line. The funny part about that comment is that Sandtroopers don't appear on any of the film posters either and we know we are getting one of those.

If it was say.. one or both of the Tonnika sisters - sure, don't hold you breath - ever, in fact.

Greedo?

More than likely. :)

Yeah, if Barada showed up on a rumor list for the 6" line, then I would understand his reaction (even though I would love a Barada figure in this line), however Greedo is far too iconic of a character to not be included in the line.

He's on screen for two minutes and the only thing he did was die. His claim to fame is enraging everyone when he was given the chance to get off a single shot from his blaster. He might be a fan favorite as far as cool looking aliens, but as a character, HE IS THOROUGHLY HATED FOR EVEN DOING ONE THING. That doesn't sound like the kind of character they'd put in a limited line of iconic Star Wars figure. Sounds like a better choice for a convention exclusive. But hey, everyone's collection can feel complete now that they'll be able to get a Greedo but not a Ben Kenobi. I mean, he's just so important. Who else could test the quality of the cantina's smoke detectors so efficiently?

So, you're still working under the assumption that this line is going to end after only 16 figures?

Anyways, Greedo is in one of the most iconic scenes of the Original Trilogy and no one ever had a problem with that scene until George Lucas changed it in 1997. It's George Lucas who's hated for making Greedo shoot first, not Greedo.

Ya, at this point I just decided to ignore and move on. A quick scan shows every post they make is negative. There has been no official word from Hasbro saying the line is planned for 16 figures.

"eight figures are planned for 2013"

"The first wave of four"

Also:
"The Black Series appeals to [...] those hardcore collectors [whose] interest isn't as piqued by the 15th cantina alien we have yet to do. We realize folks want their iconic characters delivered up in a new way."

So, yeah, sorry, but they've only CONFIRMED four waves. And after that, it will be 2015, and we have NO IDEA what will happen to the license then. Just because we know that we will buy them (remember that plenty of people have said they won't and have no interest in starting a new collection in a new scale) doesn't mean the future of this line is set in stone.

Of course, nobody knows what's going to happen in 2015, but Hasbro has the license until 2017 at least (although some information says that's been extended to 2020), so if you are worried about Disney pulling the license from Hasbro then don't.

Also, just because we are getting only 8 figures in 2013, does not mean that we are getting only 8 figures in 2014. The line is debuting with only 4 months left in this year. I'm sure we will see 16-24 new figures in 2014 alone... assuming sales are strong, of course.

Finally, Greedo is far from the "15 Cantina alien" he's actually one of the primary Cantina Aliens. He'd be either #1 or #2 depending on who you ask.

I probably shouldn't have hit view post because this is a total waste of my time, but I couldn't help myself.

Can I see the link where you got those quotes? Talk about manipulating info.

Hasbro unveils 'Star Wars' Black Series action figures

There is a link^, 3rd paragraph down, "The first wave of four, due out in early to mid-August, includes Luke Skywalker in his X-Wing Fighter flight suit, fan-favorite droid R2-D2, bad guy Darth Maul and an Imperial Sandtrooper."

The above quote is later followed in the article by the next quote you quote about appealing to hardcore collectors.

Nothing you say has any factual backing unless you provide a link directly from the horses mouth...but I won't see it unless someone else quotes you because I won't be seeing your posts anymore. All of your posts on the subject are a joke.

OMG. Okay, guy. Whoever you are.

I was wrong. Okay? It's not my fault that no one corrected me in the past five months of saying this.

Look, here's a paraphrased article that says it THE CORRECT WAY:

Boba Fett - Han Solo In Carbonite SDCC 2013 Black Series Exclusive - The Toyark - News

"The first wave of four Black Series figures, due out in early to mid-August..."
Was that too much to ask from a major worldwide publication with millions of readers?

Give me a break. This is my first post of four [inches, if you zoom in enough]. There. See? I can write poorly. Give me a job at USA Today. Give me an editing job. I'll just sit there not clarifying things. It'll be great. I can make my first paycheck of four [dollars] and marry my first wife of four [feet tall]. It's OBVIOUS what they meant. Unless you read it correctly. But hey, what do I know? Grammar. It's not a rule. It's a suggestion.

Entertainment Earth is doing exclusive Wave 2 reveals, one per, for the next 4 weeks... starting today.

More specifically, they're doing only Greedo reveals. At least, that's the way their announcement read. They'll be showing various stages of the Greedo development cycle, and then finally reveal the completed figure.

Funny, the last time I remember some site doing this, was all the way back in the POTJ days, with the POTJ Biker Scout.

Is that how you read it? I read it as they officially revealed Greedo this week, and will reveal a new character each week leading up to SDCC, where they will debut the actual figures.

Read it again, and I think you're right EP.

Still, a neat idea for a slow reveal, and you're dead on - takes me back to the old days of Lee's, Tomarts and Toy Fare.

Probably not in this scale. That would be disastrous. Alternate hands are a possibility, though.

Yeah, they're not likely to do bendy fingers on a Collector Focused figure.

It'll be an interchangeable alternate hand holding the blaster.

Oh! so EE is only revealing the characters and bits of the figure, not the actual figure. Kinda lame. I'm glad they are getting strong characters such as Greedo out early and not waiting until next year to get people in. Doing highly anticipated ones first is a good way to get people to buy in at the start.

That's how I read it as well.

If they're going to go with a Cantina alien, then Greedo's the one to start with.

I'm going back and forth on this figure. I'll have to see how much stuff there is in the fall before making a final decision. At the moment, I'm leaning towards getting him.

Cool to see the reveal. It's a nice build-up to SDCC.
